Dr Disrespect responds to Twitch leaks

0

The streaming community was in turmoil when Twitch’s source code was leaked, resulting in sensitive information such as earnings of top streamers ending up at the hands of the public.

Several streamers denied those numbers but there are compelling reasons for us to believe otherwise. Of all the information leaked, what caught the attention of many was the earnings of top streamers. Earnings and finances were speculated before, but not that we have definite numbers, we know who bags how much.

Even though Doc is suing Twitch for wrongful termination of his contract, that did not stop him from pulling their leg. According to the leaks Doc made $2,863,780.63 USD from streaming, before taxes, which is an incredible number but nothing surprising given his fame.

“The purple snake leaks? I don’t f**king care!” he said. Purple snake is a name given to Twitch by Doc following his ban.

Dr Disrespect himself was included in the leaks, though the YouTube star was listed as “unknown” in Twitch’s database his string code gave it away, and now we are certain that the individual is Doc.

Complexity part ways with k0nfig

Complexity on Twitter have announced the departure of Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke from their active CSGO division as the player now seeks to embark in a new direction for the rest of 2021 and onwards.

Earlier k0nfig was sidelined from the competition due to a severe wrist injury, forcing him to enter rehab for almost 4-6 weeks, missing out on the entire BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2021 and ESL Pro League Season 14 in the process. The 24-year-old had given a detailed explanation on Twitter upon his then-current situation where he spoke about an accident that dislocated his right wrist and would need to undergo surgery.

Amid all this, a report by Jaxon from news.jaxon.gg and HLTV.org suggested that k0nfig no longer wanted to renew his contract with Complexity and was linked in a move to Astralis, whom the latter had previously shortlisted back in 2018 prior to the signing of Emil “Magisk” Reif, as told by Astralis’ head coach Danny “zonic” Sørensen in his book, “The Brain Behind Astralis” although the deal never happened citing the player’s vague attitude towards the risen opportunity.

Complexity were forced to field Niels Christian “NaToSaphiX” Sillassen, a last minute stand-in for their BLAST Premier Fall fixtures until the Juggernauts decided to sign Marcelo “coldzera” David for the rest of their EPL S14 matches.

k0nfig’s move to Astralis seems to be moving forward in an obvious direction with the contracts of Magisk, Zonic, Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen, Andreas “Xyp9x” Højsleth all due to expire by the end of this year, potentially hinting towards a complete roster revamp for the 2022 Pro Circuit featuring Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander, Philip “Lucky” Ewald and Lucas “Bubzkji” Andersen.

Complexity are now:

  • Benjamin “blameF” Bremer
  • Valentin “poizon” Vasilev
  • Justin “jks” Savage
  • Patrick “es3tag” Hansen
  • Marcelo “coldzera” David
  • Luis “peacemaker” Tadeu (Head coach)

PGL will host CSGO’s first pandemic-hit major in Sweden after a span of two years. After a long stint of trial and tribulation, the event organizers were finally able to organize the much-anticipated Counter Strike Major in the capital of Sweden.

According to the schedule, every stage of the major will be played over the course of four days each, Challengers, Legends, and the Champions. Ticket sales for the event opened at the end of September

The Challengers and Legends stages will see teams engage in the fashionable swiss format where the initial and mid matchups would be none other than the Best of 1 series while either the qualification or elimination would depend upon an outcome from that of a Best of 3 tiebreakers. At the moment, Team Liquid are the only team from North America to have grabbed the Legends status.

The Challengers Stage consists of a total of 16 teams, 8 from Europe, 3 from the CIS region, 2 from North America, and one each from the Oceanic, Chinese, and South American regions. As said above, with the RMR events being still played, six more teams will join BIG Clan and Team Spirit while the rest eight teams will need to battle out at the Contenders to earn a spot at the former.

For now, 16 teams have been confirmed at the major and the list is as follows:

India Today’s Free Fire League ESPL Set To Return For 2022

Esports Premier League is one of the leading tournaments in India for the mobile gaming community. This massive Free Fire tournament provides an opportunity to the professionals and amateurs alike to present their skills on a big platform. This franchised tournament is returning next year on a bigger scale.

Free Fire has attained the status of being a full fledged esports title in India with a sustainable tournament season throughout the year and several third-party tournaments provide more opportunities for the players.

ESPL is the first Free Fire franchised tournament in the world and it is going to continue in a similar fashion for the next season. The upcoming edition of ESPL 2022 will be an open-for-all event with a larger prize pool at stake.

ESPL follows a IPL-styled franchise format and plans to do so in the future as well. The teams represent multiple cities and might represent brands as well. According to Dot Esports, the first iteration was like a trial run for ESPL and following a huge hype, a company has bought Hyderabad Hydras in a “multicrore deal.” The consortium is known by the name of Chequered Flag Sports.

India Today, the organizers of Esports Premier League are currently in the process of selling rest of the franchises. This means that the upcoming event is going to scale multiple times larger than the ESPL 2021 edition.

According to Vishwalok Nath, the director of ESPL, the tournament will share huge similarities with IPL and will have a similar kind of player auction. The tournament will be shifted from open qualifiers to a bidding show where team owners will bid for players they want.

The upcoming season will have the same format as last season but these changes could be implemented in the future. Looking at their successful track, ESPL is set to become one of the biggest, if not the biggest Free Fire event in India.

Delays looming over The International 2021 on opening day

After more than a year of missing in action due to the Coronavirus pandemic, The International is finally back for its 10th rendition and is perhaps the most hyped one.

Fans were eagerly waiting since the last The International in 2019 which ended in August 2019. But it was a rather unusual start as the opening day games have been delayed by more than an hour.

Fans tuned in to watch the cast at the announced time but due to technical issues, the games could not be started at the said time.

Earlier this week it was announced that The International 10 would be held without a crowd and all the tickets had been refunded. This wasn’t received well by the fans as they had already traveled and booked hotels which couldn’t be refunded on such short notice.

The games were able to start after nearly two hours of the announced time with OG playing Alliance. The games are now live on DotA 2’s official YouTube channel.

Team Liquid have already confirmed their spot as Legends, while the remaining 2 Legends spots are still up for grabs. It is more than likely that FURIA too will go to Stockholm as Legends, but it isn’t confirmed just yet except the fact that they will surely go to the Major.

Both the teams have had a flawless run at IEM Fall: NA till now, winning all 4 of their games and thus confirming qualification for playoffs. Liquid will play Extra Salt in their final game while FURIA play EG.

The remaining 3 spots – 1 Legend,1 Challenger and 1 Contender Spot will be up for grabs come the final day. 00Nation haven’t had any wins at IEM Fall and despite having 1300 RMR points, they will more than likely not make it to the Major as they cannot make playoffs anymore.

GODSENT are in prime position to qualify for playoffs as they already have 3 wins out of 4, and they are up against Triumph in their last game. A win there would secure GODSENT and FURIA for playoffs but should they lose, Group B will be blown wide open as 2 teams will have 3 wins out of 5. If EG also beat FURIA then there will be a 3-way tie for second place and MR3 OT tiebreakers will take place.

EXTREMUM,the ex-100Thieves roster have 1880 RMR points and can make it to the Major easily even if GODSENT surpasses them in RMR points. It would take a lot of upsets to put EXTREMUM out of contention for the PGL Major.

The final games will be played tomorrow with the semi-finals and 5th place decider on Saturday and Sunday with the Grand Final on Monday (as per IST).

This makes it a total of 16 teams out of 24 that have qualified for the Major, they are

  • Natus Vincere
  • Gambit
  • Team Spirit
  • Renegades
  • Sharks
  • Virtus.pro
  • Entropiq
  • Astralis
  • Ninjas in Pyjamas
  • G2
  • Heroic
  • Vitality
  • BIG
  • Mouseports
  • Team Liquid
  • Furia

EG Awarded Free Win after Triumph Player ‘xCeed’ Sleeps Through IEM Fall Match

In a rather odd and unexpected affair, Evil Geniuses were awarded a free win after Triumph forfeited their game due to not being able to field an eligible roster. Triumph could not field their full roster as Jack ‘xCeeD’ Holiman was sleeping when the game was supposed to be played. Triumph could not use a substitute as they had already been using ‘viz’ in place of ‘bwills’ as a stand-in and Valve doesn’t allow more than 1 substitute for Valve sponsored events.

EG were more than happy to take the win as it set them up for a 2-1r record in their group. But they lost to GODSENT later in the evening and currently sit at 2-2 after 4 games played.

Triumph could have sealed a spot at the Major had they played EG, and their chances were high as EG have 0 wins on it in the last 6 months, and it is Triumph’s best map. Now their chances have dwindled greatly and they’re no longer in control of their fate even if they win their last game.

Fans and analysts alike were worried about something happening to ‘xCeed’ but it turned out to be nothing except lazy and unprofessional behaviour and received flak from almost everyone.

Triumph did win their next game versus 00Nation and currently have a 2-2 record. Had they played EG and won their chances of making it to the Major would have increased manifold, let’s hope it doesn’t demotivate them and they continue their good performances for the remainder of IEM Fall NA.
