Acend Becomes first-ever Valorant World Champion

Acend defeated Gambit esports in a Best of 5 Grand Final at Valorant Champions to become the first team in the game’s history to be crowned World Champion. Not losing a single match up until the Grand Finals, Acend did not slow down and made history by defeating Gambit in a 5 map thriller.

Valorant Champions was the final tournament of Valorant Champions Tour 2021 and consisted of 16 of the best teams from around the world. The tournament had a prize pool of 1 million dollars with the winner taking home $350,000 of it. The teams would also get 50% of the collection from the Champions skin collection and as of December 8th, $7.5 million had been raised from the Champions collection for the qualified teams.

  • Map 1 (Breeze) – Acend (11 – 13) Gambit Esports
  • Map 2 (Ascent) – Acend (13 – 7) Gambit Esports

Both the teams came into the tie undefeated, winning every game in the Group Stage and of course the playoffs. Acend beat Scream’s Team Liquid in the Semis while Gambit avoided an upset at the hands of KRU esports (who had already defeated fnatic and Sentinels). 

The best of 5 Grand final went the full distance with both teams winning their map picks up, the game had to be decided on Split to crown a champion.  

It was Polish gunn ‘starxo’ and Turk ‘cNed’ that stood out for Acend with 83 and 80 kills each in the series to give their side the win. Over on the Gambit side, ‘nAts’ did all he could with 93 frags but it wasn’t enough. 

Acend fought tooth and nail and were always in control of Split from the start and won out the game easily to etch their name in history books. 

Valorant Champions Tour 2022 will kick off in the New Year and the planned events have already been announced by Riot Games. It will include two Masters events in April and July, and one Champions tournament in September organized by third-party TOs.

Soul Mortal announces MDJT Season 2, Will air on YouTube

Naman Mathur aka Soul Mortal is back with the MDJT Season 2, a short comedy mini-series featuring the content creators of S8UL. After the immense success of the first season, the team is back with another great season. The MDJT series started as a random video titled “Don’t be Vulgar Mortal!” starring 8bitMercy and SoulMortal. The video received immense praise which led to the addition of more videos under this series.

MDJT Season 1 was a great hit that received over 6 million views. The MDJT Season 2 will launch on 14th December at 3 PM IST. Although, there is no information on the channel on which the new series will be released. We could see new faces besides Naman “Mortal” Mathur, Mrinmoy “Mercy” Lahkar, Umang “Umang” Patel, and Kamal “Akshu” Kumar who were the lead roles in the first season.

While responding to his fans on the update on MDJT Season 2, Mortal said “After getting so much support from you guys, we will be back with the season 2. The team is trying hard to give our best to enhance your experience and bring out real-life content. This time we have a great script with us and some ‘good actors’ that will change the feel of the new season”.

Rocket League Sideswipe: Is The Game Down?

Pysonix’s newly launched mobile game, Rocket League Sideswipe has been having some connectivity issues lately. Some players are getting errors when trying to play the game. Since the game is always online, players are stuck in the menu with the “Connection Lost…..Retrying” message without any progress. 

The error has been plaguing almost everyone in the community and players are talking about what the error actually means. If you are getting the error it may mean that your connection with the game servers is spotty or the game servers are offline.  While there is no official way to view if the servers are offline, players in the community have figured out some at-home ways to know the cause. 

1. Check your Internet Connection

The most obvious and the first thing to check is if your connection is working or not. Be sure to check your internet connection by visiting 2-3 websites and checking if the Google Play Store or Apple App Store is working fine. 

If your connection is fine, then proceed to 2nd step.

2.  Check Social Media or use crash detector sites

Always check on Twitter or Reddit if the game servers are experiencing some problems or if the servers are down. On Twitter simply search for tags related to the game for any activity and on Reddit simply check the latest post. 

You can also check websites like Down Detector, Is It Down Or Just Me?, and Is It Down Right Now?. 

3. Make sure your game is fully updated

In case you are running an older build of the game, the servers will not allow you to get online. Make sure your game is fully updated by simply visiting the store page in the respective store of your mobile OS. 

Both Google Play Store and Apple App Store will automatically check for the latest game build and notify you about any new update. You can also manually check on the store simply by visiting your app library and refreshing the library.

With the start of Apex Legends Season 11, many players have been grinding Ranked mode to reach the “Predator” rank as soon as possible. While most of the players are far from the highest rank, some players have found a way to quickly reach “predator”. 

Recently, a new exploit involving Respawn Beacons was found that allowed players to gain Ranked Points (RP) easily without grinding for days. In order to gain Ranked Points (RP) faster, players in ranked were teaming up with opposing squads and using Replicators to craft Respawn Beacons. These players will then kill each other and respawn multiple times to gain large amounts of RP from kills extremely fast. This allowed players to quickly rank up and skew the Ranked Ladder position. 

Since the exploit became public, the community as a whole called for the developers to take swift action against players abusing the exploits. Fortunately, it didn’t take long for Respawn to take notice of this issue and ban those that used the exploit. 

Conor “Hideouts” Ford, responsible for security on Apex Legends tweeted out saying that 2,051 players had been banned from Apex Legends and have been penalized for teaming in Ranked to farm RP off each other. Interestingly, of the 2,051 accounts that had been banned, most were on the PlayStation platform followed by PC players. 

“2,051 users have now been banned for various amounts of time for colluding in ranked matches to trade kills to earn Ranked Points. Ban times are 7-60 days depending on how much they abused this. The breakdown is as follows: 

  • PC: 607 
  • PS4: 859
  • X1: 562
  • Switch: 22”

While the bans are temporary, Conor warned players that the next time they will be banning players permanently.

Epic Games Pleads Leakers to Not Post Any Chapter 3 Leaks During Fortnite Downtime

Fortnite Chapter 3 update is right around the corner and Epic Games is hoping to keep the content of the upcoming v19.00 update a secret till the release date. 

Recently, Epic Games has requested frequent Fortnite leakers to not post or leak any information about the upcoming Chapter 3 update. Some of the game’s most prominent data miners including HYPEX and ShiinaBR have reported receiving messages from Epic asking them not to leak content during the upcoming downtime, but Epic themselves have leaked details of the update in a TikTok ad. 

A frequent leaker, freddythefox_YT on Twitter posted about getting a Fortnite Ad about the upcoming update. The video ad essentially showcased the island getting wrecked, and then flipping upside down, hinting that Chapter 3 will take us to the underside of the map.

The advert comes after most leakers reported receiving requests from Epic Games to not post any leaks about Chapter 3. The leakers were already in discussions with the devs about how this request could be realistically achieved, but perhaps it’s too late now. 

Most of the Fortnite leaks come from data miners as Epic Games usually includes some information and content about upcoming major updates in earlier patches to prepare the system. Dataminers dig through every update and post/leak about anything new they find out. Most of the time the surprise of a major update is broken as Dataminers always post the most critical information about those updates. 

Since chapter 2 will be ending soon and there will be downtime before the release of chapter 3, we expect to see more leaks about chapter 3. Since Epic themselves is advertising about chapter 3 now, leakers most probably won’t sit idle and will datamine most information beforehand.

Nodwin Gaming picks 10% stake in Rusk Media

South Asia’s leading esports company NODWIN Gaming has acquired a 10% stake in the digital content IP Media network Rusk Media, making it their latest investment since getting funded back in March of 2021.

Rusk Media is a digital content IP Media network, whose content is “tailor-made” for audiences between the age of 15-25, which happens to coincide with the majority of esports viewership. This move will be aimed towards the “massification” of the budding esports industry in the region.

“We’re excited to have NODWIN Gaming as a part of our journey to revolutionize entertainment for the Gen-Z & Millennial audience. We want to bring together the worlds of entertainment and esports and create digital-first IPs that are made for gaming fans,” said Mayank Yadav, CEO, Rusk Media.

As of late, NODWIN Gaming also acquired OML Entertainment thus inheriting the BACARDI NH7 Weekender live event IP. NODWIN Gaming expects to develop and extend its array of IPs in the gaming and esports industry, with Rusk Media being their latest investment.

“As a leader of esports in the South Asian region, we aim to eventually have a significant presence across the entire ecosystem in this sector. Through our investment in Rusk Media, we aim to take further steps in the massification of esports and gaming by creating entertainment-first gaming IPs for the GenZ”, said Akshat Rathee, Managing Director, NODWIN Gaming.

NODWIN Gaming is growing at a remarkable pace and with more extraodinary events on the horizon, the company is on its way to reach even greater heights.

Spider-Man and The Rock Joins Fortnite With Chapter 3 Update

Chapter 2 of Fortnite came to an end with the death of Cube Queen and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson saving the day after flipping the whole island onto the Queen’s head. 

The end of season 8 was followed by a “The End” event with players dropping at the distant outskirts of the central map into Cube Town. The players were pitched against Cube Queen’s forces with guns and limitless ammo to take on the increasingly numerous and deadly enemies. At the end of the event, a cutscene is played with the island flipping and burying the Cube Queen beneath it. 

Right after the event, the servers were taken offline and now we wait for the chapter 3 update which is most probably dropping soon. 

Chapter 3 update will bring many big updates with it including swinging mechanics to travel around faster across the map. And who will be better suited than one of the world’s most popular superheroes, Spider-Man, in utilizing this mechanic?

That’s right, with the chapter 3 update our neighborhood superhero SpiderMan will be joining the roster of the playable characters. Spiddy isn’t the only character being added to the game.  The savior from Chapter 2  The Foundation a.k.a The Rock, voiced and modeled after Dwayne Johnson will eventually be joining the game as a battle pass item, along with Marcus Fenix and Kait Diaz from Gears of War. 

The Rock’s involvement was revealed during Chapter Two’s “The End” event, and where he drops in to save agent Jones and flipping the whole island on the queen. You can watch the whole “The End” event in the video below.

Popular horror indie title, Phasmophobia has been extremely popular among players and streamers in 2021 for its coop horror gameplay and continuous support from developers. Phasmophobia is one the highest-rated game on Steam and has received an “Overwhelmingly Positive” review rating on Steam.

Kinetic games, the developer of Phasmophobia recently announced on the game’s official Trello board about the upcoming “Cursed Possessions” update. As per the post, the upcoming update will include various new items ingame and improve some ghost types to make them stand out more from the rest. This early Christmas update from developers will be adding new items such as Tarot Cards as a new Cursed Possessions feature as well as Music Box, Summoning Circle, and Tortured Voodoo Doll. 

The players are extremely excited about the Tarot cards system as many speculate that Tarot cards could be used as modifiers, akin to the card system in Back 4 Blood, which can have a negative or positive impact on gameplay. This will open up new avenues for each ghost hunting run and will increase the replayability of each level. 

As per a tweet from the official company account, the Cursed Possessions update will be available starting Friday i.e on 10th December. 

Phasmophobia is currently available as an Early Access game on PC through Steam. The game costs $13.99 and also features a VR mode. It is slated to launch as a full experience late next year or early 2023, as per developers. The price of the game will also be raised when it launches as a full game.

Epic Games Store is Giving Away a free game every day starting 16th December

Epic Games is back with the Christmas giveaway, this year a day earlier. Just like last year, Epic Games is kicking off the Christmas celebration by giving away 15 games for free starting 16th December. Epic Games via the Epic Games Store will offer one free game each day starting 16th December until 30th December. 

Starting 16th December, Epic Games Store will be giving away a game for free every day until the end of the month (i.e. 30th December) — 15 games in total. Each game will only be available free for 24 hours, however, once downloaded, each is yours to keep forever. The final game will be up for grabs for an entire week.

How to Get Free Games On Epic Games

Like every other free game given via the Epic Games Store, there’s no catch. All you need is a registered Epic account which costs nothing but an email and password. Also, you will need to enable 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) to claim these games. 

Right now, there’s no word of what these games will be, but users can expect some substantial freebies and games. We will be updating our website with a post about the new game offered as soon as Epic makes any announcement.

Valorant Agent 19 Teased During VCT Champions Finals

It hasn’t been long since Valorant’s newest agent, Chamber, was introduced to the competitive shooter alongside the 3.10 patch, and it seems like Riot Games is already teasing yet another Valorant agent that’s set to arrive in Episode 4.

While not much is known about the upcoming Valorant Agent 19, she was teased during the opening ceremony for the VCT Champions Finals earlier today. The small clip shows a silhouette made of strings of numbers and letters, while a woman’s voice, which is presumed to be that of Agent 19, echoes in the background.

From the initial looks of it, it’s pretty evident that the upcoming agent is from the Philippines and has the ability to harm enemies with electricity.

The woman’s voice can also be the actual voice lines of the upcoming Agent codenamed ‘Sprinter’. In the teaser, she hints to her skills involving electricity as she says, “hope they like getting hit by lightning.” She also warns her enemies to “get ready” because she “goes fast,” which can be another potential teaser to her skill set, possibly her ultimate.

Valorant Agent 19 Release Date:

While the exact release date of Valorant Agent 19 is still uncertain, fans can hope to see ‘Sprinter’ in the game at some point during Valorant Episode 4.
