Xbox CEO Asha Sharma Gives Free Series X25 Console

Xbox CEO Asha Sharma handed out free limited-edition Xbox Series X25 consoles to every fan badge holder at the Xbox FanFest LA post-show event on June 7, 2026. The surprise came right after the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 wrapped up.

Following the conclusion of the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, Sharma and Xbox Games Studios head Matt Booty addressed everyone in attendance at Xbox FanFest LA. During the post-show segment, Sharma took a moment to thank the crowd for supporting Xbox over the years before dropping the announcement.

“How do you feel about the green 25th anniversary Xbox?” she asked the crowd, to loud cheers. She then added: “Well, this is my first showcase, and I know that so many of you have been here with us for the last 25 years, so if you look down and you have fan on your badge, you’ll be getting one for free later this year.”

What Is the Xbox Series X25?

The Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition was unveiled as part of Microsoft’s celebrations for Xbox’s 25th anniversary. It features a nostalgic green design based on the original Xbox, with added translucency and a matching controller.

It is a limited edition variant of the Xbox Series X built specifically to mark the 25th anniversary milestone, and it comes with a special controller as well.

When Will Fans Get Their Free Consoles?

The consoles are not yet in fans’ hands. The Xbox Series X25 does not officially release until November 2026. Sharma confirmed during the announcement that badge holders would receive theirs “later this year,” in line with that release window.

For those who could not attend the showcase, preorders are expected to open ahead of the November release date, though a price has not yet been announced.
