Phoenix Esports and Eighteen Plus banned from PUBG Mobile tournaments for 1 year

The PMPL SEA Championship Play-Ins ended on 4th September 2022. The best teams from the different PMPL regional leagues competed with each other. In the shocking turn of events two Vietnamese teams, Phoenix Esports and Eighteen Plus got a one-year ban from all the PUBG Mobile Esports tournaments for teaming up in the event.

The official PUBG Mobile Esports Vietnam announced on their social media handles. They stated, “At the 4th matchday 2 of the PMPL SEA Championship Fall Play-in, through the investigation and verification of the organizer, the member of 2 teams PHOENIX (4NIX) and EIGHTEEN PLUS (ETP) had teaming behavior. Based on the regulation, players of these 2 teams will be given a 1-year ban in PUBG Mobile major leagues on a global scale from 04/09/2022.”

Eighteen Plus Esports responded to this ban

Eighteen Plus Esports took their Facebook PUBG Mobile page to clear their part. They wrote, “Congratulations to VPE, TEM, and DBD for winning the last tickets. In addition to the issues of sanctions, we together with NPH VNG are still working on solving them, Tencent has made a decision without any evidence. Thank you NHM Vietnam for accompanying us and sorry for the past problems.”

Vampire Esports, TEM Entertainment and Don’t Break Teams qualified for finals

The top three finishing teams in the PMPL SEA Championship Fall Play-Ins qualified for the grand finals. A total of 16 teams competed in the Play-Ins from which the top 3 teams made it to the grand finals. A total of 6 matches were played each day with Map Order of Sanhok, Miramar, Miramar, Erangel, Erangel, and Erangel.

PUBG Mobile giants, Bigetron RA once again failed to qualify for the SEA Championship grand finals after having a decent start on the first day. Whereas the PMWI champions, Vampire Esports showed their outstanding performance on the battlefield.
