Analysts and fans both expected G2 to bounce back from yesterday’s defeat but “aleksib” and co. had a different plan altogether as they took their own map pick first, and then absolutely thrashed G2 on their pick of Inferno.

The win for OG comes off the back of another 2-0 win versus VP yesterday, and after today they have all but secured a playoff spot for themselves, needing only 1 win out of the remaining 3 to qualify and having already beaten the 2 teams ranked higher than them in the HLTV world rankings.

⦁ G2 removed Overpass
⦁ OG picked Mirage
⦁ G2 picked Inferno
⦁ OG removed Nuke
⦁ G2 removed Ancient
⦁ Dust2 was leftover

MAP 1: Mirage

Having yet again avoided the two newest maps, Ancient and Vertigo, OG plyed their trade on their standard Mirage pick and got off to a decent start taking a lead of 5:2 before G2 found their footing. G2 went on a tear of their own, thanks to Nikola “NiKo” Kovac as he piled up 24 frags to give his team a 9:6 lead. After switching sides OG decided to show their opponents just what they were made of as they picked up 7 rounds on the trot, full buy or not it didn’t seem to matter as Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen’s reads were always on point. G2 took just one round, a partial buy with Deagles and tec-9s before OG stomped them again to take the map 16:10.

MAP 2: Inferno (Picked by: G2, Won by: OG, Final Score: 16:5)

If Mirage was considered dominant, Inferno was on another level for OG. Having picked into it consistently in the past, they were well versed with the setup and demonstrated that today. This time around, it was G2 who came out with all guns blazing, taking the pistol and the conversion and the following full buy round as well to take a 4:0 lead.

But no one could expect what Shahar ‘flameZ’ Shushan and Mateusz ‘mantuu’ Wilczewski had in store as G2 crumbled versus their might. They managed a single T round thanks to a Nemanja ‘huNter-‘ Kovač 4K as OG took the half 10:5. Aleksi continued his dominant calling as OG moved to the T side, winning every round from there on out, thereby winning 16 of the last 17 rounds of the map to take the map 16:5 and the series 2:0.
