KRAFTON India has launched BGMI Campus MVP, a 90-day student leadership programme that brings together 150 ambassadors from 17 IITs and 28 NITs to build BGMI communities across India’s premier engineering institutions. The programme received over 16,000 applications from students across more than 5,000 institutions, from which 150 ambassadors were selected for the inaugural cohort, with 100 more placed in a reserve pool. Ambassadors will organise tournaments, create gaming content, host campus meet-ups, and lead inter-college competitions across 3 structured phases running from July 15 to October 14, 2026.
Rewards for Ambassadors and Players
Ambassadors earn RP for every completed task and unlock rewards at each tier. The reward structure works as follows:
| Tier | Rewards |
|---|---|
| Entry Tier | Welcome kit, food and e-commerce vouchers |
| Mid Tier | In-game UC, trigger sets, premium headphones |
| Top Tier | Level 3 backpack |
| Conqueror (Top 5 nationally) | Total rewards up to INR 15,000 |
Players recruited by ambassadors also compete for prizes. Phase 1 Classic Match winners get food vouchers. Phase 2 TDM and offline-activation winners receive premium vouchers. Phase 3 inter-department rivalry winners take home BGMI merchandise hampers.
Srinjoy Das, Director, Marketing and Product Management, KRAFTON India, said: “BGMI has evolved far beyond gameplay into a platform where players compete, create content, build friendships and form communities. Campus MVP is the next step in that journey. By empowering students to lead gaming communities within their campuses, we are creating spaces where players can connect, compete and collaborate, while shaping the future of gaming culture in India.”
KRAFTON India’s Campus Push
BGMI Campus MVP builds on KRAFTON India’s existing grassroots efforts. Earlier in 2026, the KRAFTON India College Campus Tour Season 2 reached 128 colleges across Tier 1, 2, and 3 cities and engaged over 75,000 students, with Gods Omen from Rishihood University winning the championship and a BMPS 2026 slot.
BGMI Campus MVP takes a different approach. Rather than running a single tournament circuit, it installs student ambassadors as permanent community managers inside each institution for a 90-day period. The focus is community-building first, competition second. Top performers from this first cohort will contribute to expanding the programme to a wider set of institutions in future phases.
BGMI has surpassed 260 million downloads in India. KRAFTON India has invested over $250 million in Indian startups since 2021 and last year recorded 930 million views for BGMI esports content with 86 million unique viewers.
