If you’re using a modified client to play games on Roblox, you might find yourself on the chopping block during the platform’s next ban wave.
As confirmed by Roblox in a recent announcement, the developers are planning to take action against users running modified clients to play the game.
Using Modified Roblox Clients May Lead To Bans
As per Roblox’s official statement, the first wave of automated actions for running modified clients is expected to start this week. Players running modified clients may also find their accounts being completely terminated from the platform.
“Over the past few months, we have been testing and refining multiple layers of automated checks to detect when people run modified Roblox applications,” the announcement reads. “‘Modified clients’ are custom versions of the Roblox application binary downloaded from third-party websites or running instances of the official version of Roblox modified by external tools at runtime.”
The reason behind these bans is likely due to the unfair advantages that unofficial Roblox clients can offer by exploiting game mechanics. Cheaters using certain third-party clients can easily ruin games by bypassing in-game rules, enabling hacks like teleportation, speed boosts, or flying scripts that can disrupt the gameplay experience for legitimate players.
If you’re concerned about the safety of your account, make sure that you’re using the official Roblox client downloaded directly from the platform’s official website. If you’re on mobile, you can download the official Roblox app from the Play Store on Android or the App Store on iOS.
