Following a long wait, Rockstar Games finally released the second trailer for GTA 6 on May 6th, and it has created a buzz in the gaming community not just due to its jaw-dropping visuals and open world, but also because it may have featured one of the biggest names in the world of streaming — IShowSpeed.
IShowSpeed was livestreaming his reaction to the second GTA 6 trailer when a specific moment in the nearly three-minute video grabbed his attention.
“I’m in the game!” Speed exclaimed as he realised that his name may have appeared in the trailer. “Chat, they got my name in the game.”
In case you haven’t had the chance to check out the newly released second trailer for GTA 6, around the 2-minute and 30-second mark, protagonists Jason and Lucia drive past an auto shop with a sign that reads ‘Watkins Auto Parts.'”
Given Speed’s real name is Darren Watkins Jr, his excitement upon seeing his name within one of the most anticipated video games in history was understandable, to say the least.
Needless to say, while the “Watkins Auto Parts” shop in the game trailer is definitely real, no official connection between IShowSpeed and GTA 6 has been confirmed by Rockstar at the time of writing.
However, considering IShowSpeed’s meteoric rise in popularity over the past couple of years, a subtle nod or in-game reference doesn’t seem far-fetched.
