A controversy has emerged between S8UL Esports manager Siddhant “Sid” Joshi and Indian esports media page LetsGrowEsports following a series of posts surrounding Team Apex Gaming and its Free Fire roster.
The discussion began after LetsGrowEsports posted about Team Apex Gaming’s journey following its TEZ FFMIC 2026 Fall championship. The page highlighted how the roster had previously been released by Revenant XSpark, later competed as free agents, represented India internationally, and eventually became back-to-back FFMIC champions.
However, the post also brought up an earlier situation involving S8UL and the salaries reportedly requested by the players. Sid responded to the post and disputed how his previous comments had been interpreted. The situation later escalated, with LetsGrowEsports publishing another lengthy response and Sid saying on stream that he was prepared to take legal action.
LetsGrowEsports’ Post About Team Apex Gaming Starts the Controversy
Following Team Apex Gaming’s FFMIC 2026 Fall victory, LetsGrowEsports posted about the roster’s journey.
The page wrote:
“Small lore on this champion lineup: Revenant Xspark released this lineup a year ago. They played as free agents, went to #EWC2026 as TAG, and now they’re going to the World Series.”
The post then discussed what reportedly happened after the roster won the first FFMIC 2026 title and mentioned Sid in connection with salary negotiations.
According to LetsGrowEsports, the players were looking for a good salary after winning the tournament, while Sid had previously commented on whether the Free Fire ecosystem was ready for salaries at that level.
This part of the post became the centre of the disagreement.
Sid argued that his previous statement was being interpreted as him saying the players “did not deserve” the salary they were asking for. According to Sid, that was not what he meant.

S8UL Sid Responds to LetsGrowEsports
Sid initially responded by explaining his position on Free Fire salaries.
In his response, Sid said:
“Bro, I already get enough hate, and now you’re doing all this. What I said was that giving such high salaries in Free Fire would be too early, and we simply don’t have that kind of budget. I’m trying my best to stay away from controversies, but you’ve become a target for no reason. Just because I’m staying quiet doesn’t mean I’m going to listen to everything people say about me.”
In simple terms, Sid said his earlier point was that paying salaries at that level in Free Fire would be too early considering the state of the ecosystem and that S8UL did not have that level of budget.
He further clarified the same point during his stream.
“He took ‘Free Fire is not ready for such salaries yet’ and interpreted it as me saying that they did not deserve it.”
Sid therefore denied saying that the players themselves were undeserving of the salary. His argument was that “Free Fire is not ready for such salaries yet” and that S8UL’s budget was another factor.
That distinction became one of the main points of the controversy.

LetsGrowEsports further claimed that Sid contacted them through his personal number and spoke sympathetically before his number was allegedly leaked, after which the account claimed it started receiving spam.
The post also stated:
“Acting all cool on social media, while all you do is apologize and suck up in everyone’s DMs.”
LetsGrowEsports further claimed it had chats and screenshots related to interactions involving Sid and other members of the esports community.
The page wrote that it could provide “exact dates and screenshots” if required and warned against private chats or phone numbers being leaked.

Sid Says He Is Ready to Sell His Car and Gold for Legal Action
The controversy escalated further when Sid addressed the matter during his stream and issued a strong warning about potentially taking the dispute to court.
Sid said:
“I’m telling you this much, bro: I will spend every single rupee I have. I will sell my car, I will sell all the gold I have on my body, and I will drag you to court over what you posted about me. I promise you.”
Sid’s statement makes clear how seriously he views the posts made about him.
