Ancient replaces Train in CSGO Active Duty map pool

With an update shipped by Valve earlier today, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has met with several major changes. The size of the update is approximately 1 GB.  The Operation Broken Fang which began on December 03, 2020, has concluded. Ancient has replaced Train in the Active Duty map pool and the developers have introduced Snakebite Case featuring 17 new skins.

Users who still haven’t finished their missions can do so until May 15 and claim the rewards as well. The view models of chickens have apparently received a “visual upgrade”. With Train moving to the Reserve pool, several new maps have been added for scrimmage, casual, deathmatch and wingman mode.

Valve has also added a premium subscription service called CS:GO 360 Stats for users who wish to continue viewing competitive and wingman statistics like they did during the Operation Broken Fang. The subscription, similar to DotA+, is worth $1 per month.

Several users are outraged over the removal of Train, instead of Mirage, from the Active Duty map pool and the inclusion of CS:GO 360 Stats which, the critics say, should be made accessible for nothing.

The Snakebite Case has the gloves from Broken Fang Case as rare special items. The update also brings in enhanced security and stabilizes the game. Several maps including Nuke, Ancient and Frostbite have received minor tweaks as well.

CSGO Map Pool:

  • Dust 2

  • Inferno
