Valve shipped out a new update to Counter-Strike 2 earlier today, and while it doesn’t bring any major changes to the shooter, it does introduce a series of small improvements to the game’s animations.
More specifically, the April 18 CS2 update brings improvements to the Animgraph 2 animation system that the devs introduced to the game a few weeks ago. For the uninitiated, Animgraph 2 is a significant improvement to the current CS2 animation system, reducing CPU and network overhead tied to animations while enhancing the overall quality and responsiveness of player animations across the board.
For the time being, the Animgraph 2 animation system can only be accessed by players who are in the appropriate beta branch. You can opt into the Animgraph 2 beta branch by checking out our detailed guide on the topic.
