MLBB: Yam to replace Ahmed in Alter Ego roster for M2 World Championship

Alter Ego has made a disheartening announcement for their fans as one of their players named Ahmed from Mobile Legends: Bang Bang roster had been tested positive and hence, he will not be able to attend the upcoming M2 World Championship. Ahmed will be replaced by ‘Yam’ for this tournament.

Alter Ego Esports is one of the Indonesian teams that qualified for the annual MLBB world cup event. M2 World Championship is the pinnacle of MLBB esports for this season and prominent teams from the SEA region will gather alongside other qualifying teams to fight for a lion’s share of $300,000 prize pool.

Ahmed has tested positive for COVID-19 on 21st December after attending some events. The Alter Ego Founder Delwyn Sukamto revealed this information stating that other staff and players were tested where Ahmed tested positive. The retesting was done on 25th December where everybody tested negative except Ahmed.

M2 World Championship will take place in two stages with Groups beginning on 18th January and Playoffs to begin from 22nd January. Both of these events will run for two days and at the end, the world champion will be announced. The following teams are participating in this event:

  • DREAMMAX
  • IMPUNITY KH
  • RRQ
  • ALTER EGO ESPORTS
  • 10S GAMING FROST
  • TODAK
  • BURMESE GHOULS
  • BREN ESPORTS
  • OMEGA ESPORTS
  • UNIQUE DEVU
  • RSG EVOS SG

Due to this, it is confirmed that Ahmed will not attend the M2 World Championship in Singapore and Yam will represent Alter Ego for this tournament. This Indonesian powerhouse will head into this tournament with a changed roster and hence, might have to tread a rough path during the league stages.
