BMSD 2026 Smash Rule Explained

The Smash Rule will be used on Day 3 to determine the BMSD 2026 champion.

Under this format, teams play the first 12 matches using the regular points system. After Match 12, the points of the team in first place will be used to calculate the Match Point threshold.

The threshold is calculated by adding 10 points to the leading team’s total after Match 12.

Once a team reaches this threshold, it becomes Match Point Eligible. From that point, the team must secure a Winner Winner Chicken Dinner (WWCD) to win the championship.

The first team to reach Match Point and then secure a WWCD will be crowned the BMSD 2026 champion.

If no Match Point Eligible team secures a WWCD during the final six matches, the team with the highest overall points at the end of Match 18 will win the tournament.

This format means that even a team trailing in the standings could still win the title by reaching Match Point and securing a WWCD.
