Esports Organisation RektGlobal announced today that they have added Nicky Romero as an investor. RektGlobal is the parent of Rouge gaming team which mainly competes in Fortnite and League of Legends. Romero will be joining as co-owner and board member and will support the continued international expansion of both RektGlobal and Rogue.
Nick Rotteveel van Gotum a.k.a Nicky Romero is a famous Dutch DJ who also produces his own records and also releases remixes of other songs. He is latest in the list of celebrities to join esports industry. Romero isn’t the only music industry investor who had invested in RektGlobal. Other members include DJ Steve Aoki and some members of Imagine Dragons. Romero will co-host live streams with players from Rouge and will also produce content with them.
Romero, in a statement said:
I’m excited to join my good friend and fellow DJ, Steve Aoki, with my investment into RektGlobal and Team Rogue. I love gaming because it provides a great way to unwind after long nights in the studio. It’s also how I stay connected with friends when I’m on the road performing. Rogue is killing it at FIFA right now and I’m counting down the days until I can link up and play with MSDOSSARY and the rest of the team.
RektGlobal was founded in 2016 and is based in New York. One of the co-founder Amish Shah, in the release, said:

As the year moves on more and more celebrity names have started to pop-up that are showing interest in the esports. This signals a positive sign for the esports industry.
