Top 10 Players From Skyesports SEA Championship

The Skyesports SEA Championship has finally concluded with BLEED Esports securing the win over Made in Thailand.

After claiming a 3-1 victory over Made In Thailand, Bleed Esports was crowned the champions of the AMD Skyesports SEA Championship.

MiTH advanced to the championship match after defeating God Squad (ex-Global Esports), where they faced off against BLEED. This was Chennai-based Skyesport’s first SEA-exclusive tournament. A total of $22,500 USD was thrown into the pot with the winners to take away a lion’s share of $15,000 USD.

Bleed Esports Wins Skyesports SEA Championship 2022

Bleed Esports are your winners of the AMD Skyesports SEA Championship by Ampverse by defeating Made In Thailand 3-1.

Following their win over Global Esports, MiTH took on BLEED in the grand finals. Having lost to them once before, MiTH were ready to take revenge and had no better place than a grand finals match to do it.

MiTH picked Breeze while BLEED went for Icebox upon which MitTH responded with Haven and BLEED picked Ascent leaving Bind as the final map. While they are the top teams in their respective regions, BLEED with their recent showing were the favorite to take the trophy home as we got into the match:

Map Veto :

  • MiTH ban Pearl
  • BLD ban Fracture
  • MiTH pick Breeze
  • BLD pick Icebox
  • MiTH pick Haven
  • BLD pick Ascent
  • Bind was left over

Map 1 Breeze

MiTH clearly showed that they learnt from their last encounter with BLEED. They came into the game looking like the better side and the final score aligns with that. Following a close first half, the Thailand side was able to win the map 13-8. The 5 round margin may look like much but truth be told both teams were as close as they could have been. Kadoom picked up his from their match against GE and was the driving force behind this map win.

Map 2 Icebox

MITH kicked the first map off with a pistol-round win on the Attacking side of Icebox. With their opponents now on eco, they converted the following round as well without any hassle. BLEED retaliated from the third round, and they struck back hard, winning the next eight rounds in a row before MITH managed to get their third round on the board. The first half ended with a score of 9-3 in favor of BLEED.

MITH kicked off the second half with a head start as they grabbed the pistol round. However, a force buy from BLEED was enough to shut them down. MITH could win a few more rounds throughout the half but eventually succumbed to the pressure as the game concluded with a score of 13-9 in favor of BLEED.

Map 3 Haven
MiTH comfortably cruised with a healthy 5-2 lead on their attack thanks to Kititkawin “PTC” Rattanasukol’s 4K on Chamber. BLEED fought back into the game by closing out the first half 5-7 as they found themselves comfortable in locking out their opponents off from the C-site in the last round.

The second half saw both the sides trade rounds back and forth with BLEED successfully squaring out the scores. It was Ngô Công “crazyguy” Anh who closed out Haven for BLEED Esports as they went 2-1 up in the Best of 5 Grand Finale series. Kantapong “Kadoom” Kingthong did his best attempt to bring MiTH back into the game, with his heroics but they seemed to be destitute and listless across the second half.

Map 5 :

MITH continued to look far from their best at the start of the first half as they went 4-8 down to the BLEED. With PTC and his troops’ backs against the wall in the series, they started to chart a comeback into the second half and were able to scale 10 rounds against 11 of BLEED’s.

Nutchaphon “sScary” Matarat’s 3K on a post-plant situation iterated the hopes of BLEED to win the first VCT Off-Season event. It was Jorell “Retla” Teo who culminated it for his team at death to clinch the championship and $15,000 USD prize money.

Riot Games join forces with Ubisoft to tackle in-game toxicity with AI

0

Two of the biggest multiplayer games developers in Riot Games and Ubisoft have joined forces to tackle the rising problem of toxic behavior in video games with AI.

According to their official statement, both organizations are actively working on an AI that will be capable of detecting toxicity in video games and taking according to action. The AI is presumed to recognize abusive voices and chats and further moderate them all alone without involving any person in the process. This will render the games free of toxicity at a rapid pace rather than engage individuals which results in a much more time-consuming process.

“That’s why Riot and Ubisoft are teaming up on a tech partnership to develop a database gathering in-game data to better train AI-based preemptive moderation tools that detect and mitigate disruptive behavior in-game. Any data gathered that will be able to identify a person will be removed before sharing.” read Riot’s official statement.

Riot and Ubisoft combined have developed a wide range of multiplayer games where toxicity is prevalent to this day. Despite having the necessary tools in place, the toxicity in games is increasing at an alarming pace, and having a moderator team is an effective but extremely slow process and often comes up short.

With two companies as big as Riot and Ubisoft, they have a plethora of data that can make AI highly efficient in detecting toxic behavior. When they are successful, we can see several organizations drop their moderation teams and replace them with high-function AI upon its proper training.

We do not have a timeline for when it launches, or when we can get see a preview but with the alarming rate at which toxicity is rising, we will likely see it real soon. This will be a big step towards making games free of toxicity and such players with inappropriate behavior towards fellow teammates will think twice before lashing out.

Madhya Pradesh Government might be taking some stringent steps very soon to regulate the use of video games in the state and probably curtail gaming activities to some extent. Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra has stated that the home government will be taking some steps towards this soon.

According to a report by Mint, MP govt. is planning to bring a law to regulate online gaming as per the state Home Minister. Mr. Mishra made the following statement to reporters: “We are going to bring an Act in Madhya Pradesh to regulate online gaming. The draft is ready and will be brought to the Cabinet for final approval.”

The Madhya Pradesh government will also form a new regulating body to monitor and control online gaming activities and ultimately prevent some cases of addiction, self-harm, and violence through the same. Mr. Mishra also stated that the government had announced the formation of such a body in January 2022.

Adding to this, Mishra also stated the following while talking about the suicide case of an 11-year-old boy due to online gaming. He said, “We will be making amendments to the public gambling act, and a law to regulate online gaming platforms will be introduced soon.”

Ex LOL World Champion Toyz sentenced to prison for drug trafficking

0

LOL 2012 World Champion Kurtis ‘Toyz’ Lau has been sentenced to four years and two months in prison in Taiwan for trafficking marijuana in the country. Last year, Toyz was prosecuted in Taiwan for drug trafficking in Taiwan. He was arrested after the Taiwan police seized more than 200 marijuana pods. Those pods were located in several locations around the country.

Lately, the League of Legends pro Toyz pleaded guilty in the courtroom and got sentenced to four years and two months in prison. The Taichung District Court convicted him of six crimes.

According to Toyz’s lawyer, he didn’t appear in court and also expected a lighter sentence.

LOL pro Toyz was first arrested last year in September for selling marijuana. Then the Taiwan police found 200 packs of drugs. At that time, the Taichung District Court granted bail for $50,000 as he pleaded guilty.

After that incident, the Taichung District Prosecutor’s Office noticed a second-level drug reaction in Toyz’s hair while he entered the rehabilitation center.

Toyz got released from the rehabilitation center in January 2022 and got prosecuted by the Taichung District Court for four second-degree drug trafficking along with two attempted drug-trafficking crimes. Apart from that, the court also prosecuted seven other people for assisting Toyz in drug trafficking.

Finally, the court punished the Ex LOL World Champion with four years and two months of imprisonment.

MiTH to face Bleed Esports At Skyesports SEA Championship

Following a loss at the hands of BLEED, MITH made it to the lower bracket finals where they found themselves in a match against Global Esports for a spot in the finals against BLEED.

Clearly, the favorites coming into the match-up, Global’s win over Velocity showed that they are ready to give the Thai side a run for their money.

Global Esports went for their comfort pick Icebox while MITH went from Fracture leaving Ascent as the third and final map if we were to go there.

Icebox

MITH started off strong on the Attacker’s side upon which we saw Global get a 3 rounds setback before they were able to post a round. Failing to convert the first gun round, saw them fall behind on the scoreboard. Global Esports never managed to post consecutive rounds, therefore their economy suffered and to top it off, MITH managed to negate the impact of SkRossi despite which GE posted 3 rounds on the defence.GE started their offence with a pistol round loss but force buy conversion helped them string together 3 rounds before MITH were able to get back on board following that they got to 13 rounds without much effort while GE was not able to get more than 6 rounds.

Fracture

Once again, MITH started their map pick of Fracture on the right foot, winning the pistol round and converting the following three rounds to take a 4-0 lead over their opponents. GE managed to grab a win in the fifth round, but the strong MITH economy enabled them to retaliate in the next round, snatching it from their opposition as the scoreline read 5-1. GE won the next two rounds, but failed to secure any more rounds in defense and the half ended with a 9-3 score in favor of MITH. The second half was pretty much a one-sided domination from MITH, who outplayed their counterparts every step of the way to secure the map 12-3.

With this victory, MITH will advance to the grand finals of the tournament where they’ll face BLEED in a BO5 series to decide the champion. The finals will take place on November 25, 2:30 pm IST, and fans will be able to catch the action live on the official Skyesports YouTube channel.
