Riot Games Adds New Event to League of Legends Esports Calendar

According to popular League of Legends personality, Christopher Mykles aka MonteCristo, Riot Games are planning for a third League of Legends in 2024 along with the two already announced.

MSI and the Worlds are the two events that the entire League of Legends fanbase is looking forward to but a third event in the mix will make things more interesting for the players and the fans.

During the latest episode of his podcast ‘Last Free Nation’, Myjkes revealed that all regions will follow the LEC’s three-split system in 2024 because Riot Games is looking to “add another international event”.

The busier schedule might look enticing for the fans but players might not be as welcoming to it. Given the increased number of matches, players get less time between events which makes it difficult for the team to prepare and perform at the highest level.

As of now, we do not have any concrete information about any of the three aforementioned events but we can only assume it takes place after the Spring Split has concluded. Regardless, the back-to-back events would make the competition fierce and offer more chances for top teams to win trophies.

Nickmerscs CoD Skins Twitter Controversy Explained

0

The NICKMERCS CoD skin controversy is a unique event that sparked a significant debate within the gaming community. The renowned streamer NICKMERCS was one of the pioneers to have a personalized playable operator skin in Call of Duty. Released as a premium bundle on May 31, it comprised two skins, blueprints, an emblem, a finishing move, a loading screen, a weapon charm, and a sticker, all bound by a red and black MFAM-branded theme. However, a little over a week later, Activision withdrew it following a contentious tweet from the star streamer, leading to a whirlwind of reactions on Twitter.

Why did Activision remove NICKMERCS’ CoD skin?

The controversy ignited when Chris Puckett, an esports host, tweeted about an anti-LGBTQ+ protest incident in California. He called for acceptance and love, to which NICKMERCS responded with a remark that many interpreted as a common right-wing conspiracy theory. The backlash was swift, with fans, streamers, and esports pros alike denouncing NICKMERCS’s comment as potentially harmful.

The timeline of the controversy unfolds as follows:

  • June 7: NICKMERCS posts the controversial tweet, leading to widespread backlash.
  • June 8: NICKMERCS addresses the backlash during his stream, insisting his comment was not anti-gay, but rather a call for parental discretion in children’s education.
  • June 8: Activision removes NICKMERCS’s creator bundle from CoD stores due to “recent events,” focusing on celebrating PRIDE with their community.
  • June 9: Popular streamers such as Dr. Disrespect and Cloakzy boycott Warzone in support of NICKMERCS.
  • June 10: TimTheTatman, another popular streamer and friend of NICKMERCS, requests Activision to remove his creator bundle out of solidarity, stirring mixed reactions from the community.
  • June 11: Activision grants TimTheTatman’s request and removes his bundle from the stores, but retains access for those who have already purchased them1.
  • June 19: NICKMERCS streams for the first time in almost two weeks, standing by his original tweet and gaining 11,000 new subscribers in the process, though his CoD bundle remains unavailable.
  • June 19: In the wake of other streamers supporting NICKMERCS, streamer HasanAbi criticizes Dr. Disrespect for his support, leading to NICKMERCS declaring HasanAbi “dead to him”.

The controversy provides a striking example of the complex interplay between gaming, social issues, and the impact of influential personalities in the online world. With the stakes high and opinions polarized, the gaming community continues to engage in this ongoing debate. As the dust settles, the question remains: Will NICKMERCS’s CoD bundle be reinstated, or is this the end of a unique chapter in Call of Duty history? Only time will tell.

How To Get Sharp Tooth Pump Shotgun in Fortnite

In the dynamic world of Fortnite, weapon inventories evolve, keeping the game exciting and perpetually fresh. One such intriguing shift is the reintroduction of a beloved weapon, the Sharp Tooth Pump Shotgun. Reentering the game at the expense of the Havoc Shotgun, the Sharp Tooth Pump Shotgun has become a focal point for players keen on elevating their Fortnite prowess.

Where to Find Sharp Tooth Pump Shotgun in Fortnite

The Sharp Tooth Pump Shotgun, a standout weapon, is not hard to locate in the game. Like many other weapons, it can be unearthed from chests or acquired from Holochests in exchange for Keys. This weapon boasts a range of versions – Green, Blue, Purple, and the coveted Legendary – each of which can hold a total of four bullets. While its power might not surpass the previous version, the Nerfed variant of the Sharp Tooth Shotgun still packs a significant punch, dealing up to 160 Damage to a target.

One of the standout features of the Sharp Tooth Pump Shotgun is its impressive reloading speed. In comparison to counterparts such as the Combat Shotgun, Maven Shotgun, or the vaulted Havoc Shotgun, which take approximately five seconds to reload, the Sharp Tooth Shotgun stands a head above the rest, replenishing its entire magazine in just four seconds. This single second could be the difference between victory and defeat in the high-stakes environment of Fortnite.

The Sharp Tooth Pump Shotgun is not without its quirks. Its need to pump after each shot makes it a slow weapon, which could be a disadvantage if you’re pitted against an opponent with a faster gun like the Maven Shotgun. However, its damage output, ranging from 145 to 160, and the ability to obliterate structures, makes it a formidable choice for those who rarely miss their shots. Furthermore, coupling this shotgun with a Pistol or an SMG can be a game-changing strategy. After landing a hit with your shotgun, quickly switching to an SMG can allow you to rapidly finish off your opponent.

From close-quarter combat to medium-range engagements, the Sharp Tooth Pump Shotgun is an excellent addition to your Fortnite arsenal, promising an edge in your battles. Available across various platforms, including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices, Fortnite offers every player the chance to experience the power of the Sharp Tooth Pump Shotgun.

In the ever-changing landscape of Fortnite, understanding how to navigate the weapon inventory can significantly enhance your gameplay. The Sharp Tooth Pump Shotgun, with its unique attributes, is a weapon worth mastering. So gear up, get out there, and let the Sharp Tooth Pump Shotgun guide you to your next Victory Royale!

Counter Strike 2 Replaces Mirage with Nuke and Office in Major Update

The world of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) is changing with the latest Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) update. A major shift in the map roster has replaced Mirage with two classic CS:GO maps, Nuke and Office, marking a significant milestone in the game’s evolution.

The CS2 beta initially allowed players to test their skills on Dust 2 and Mirage. Now, the spotlight has shifted to Nuke and Office. These multi-leveled maps have taken Mirage’s place, offering players an exciting new battleground to explore on Source 2.

This transformation is part of a substantial update launched by Valve on June 29, which has not only reshuffled the map roster but also introduced a plethora of CS2 tweaks. It’s worth noting that these two classic maps have been fan favorites since 1999. In this latest update, they’ve been remastered for CS2, Counter-Strike’s latest engine, promising a fresh yet nostalgic gaming experience for players.

Interestingly, this is the first time since the CS2 beta launch in late March that more than one playable map is in rotation. The second round of CS2 beta access had allowed gamers to test Mirage on the Source 2 engine, a move which quickly proved its worth. An array of glitches and bugs affecting gameplay were discovered, resulting in necessary fixes and improvements.

Players found themselves able to rain fire from above while walking along the skybox on Mirage, and even sink into the depths of the A-site by glitching into the floor. These bugs pushed Valve into high gear, leading to six different updates between June 6 and June 20. The end result? Mirage was pulled out for further work, making way for the introduction of the new maps.

While the return of Nuke and Office to the map roster is undoubtedly thrilling, it’s important to note that only a fraction of the Counter-Strike community can currently enjoy them. Despite Valve’s efforts to expand the beta, more than 95% of players are still waiting for their chance to join in the action.

For the lucky few with access, the updated Office and Nuke maps offer exciting new landscapes to navigate, while the rest of the community looks on in anticipation, eagerly awaiting their turn to play.

Adding to the excitement of this update, the June 29 patch also saw the introduction of a long-awaited casual mode. This addition promises a more relaxed gaming experience in the testing servers. In addition, several major bugs were addressed and fixed in the patch, improving the overall gaming experience.

As CS2 continues to evolve, these updates promise an enhanced gaming experience for players, bringing classic maps back to life, and taking the game to new heights. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to explore the ever-changing landscape of Counter-Strike.
