The second day of Battlegrounds Mobile India Masters Series (BGMS) Season 2 has come to a close with Chemin Esports maintaining its top position on the League Week 1 points table. Notably, the second day marked a remarkable turnaround for Marcos Gaming as it jumped from 15th position to impressive 2nd position on the points table. OR Esports, whose incredible performance during Launch Week was temporarily eclipsed on Day 1, only to resurface magnificently on Day 2, propelling it from 12th to the 3rd position.

Here is the recap of BGMS Season 2 League Week 1 Day 2.

Match 1 – Erangel

Despite losing two of its players relatively early in the game, Marcos Gaming stood tall and won the first match. Harsh “SPRAYGOD” Malik and Arth “Vexe” Trivedi demonstrated unparalleled resilience and carried their team from 12th rank to 1st. Notably, the team’s in-game leader showcased remarkable foresight by accurately predicting the formation of the playzone, which helped the team throughout the match.   • Ring 2 Damage increased from 3 per tick to 4 per tick.
  • Ring 4 Damage reduced from 20 per tick to 15 per tick.

Timing Changes

Round 1:

  • Preshrink time reduced from 90s to 75s.
  • Shrink speed on small Maps reduced from 167 to 160.
  • Shrink speed on large Maps reduced from ~180 to ~165.
  • Shrink time standardized to ~260s on each map.

Round 2:

  • Preshrink time reduced from 165s to 120s.
  • Shrink speed reduced from 160 to 140.
  • Shrink time increased by ~25s per map.

Round 3:

  • Preshrink time reduced from 135s to 90s.

Round 4:

  • Preshrink time reduced from 105s to 90s.
  • Shrink speed reduced from 100 to 85.

Maximum match length has been shortened

The BGIS 2023 tournament boasts an impressive prize pool of INR 2,00,00,000. The registration period for the main event ended on 6th August. However, prior to the main event, BGIS 2023: The Grind takes center stage, serving as the pathway for the top 256 teams to secure their place in the tournament’s limelight.

From the initial pool of 256 contenders, 128 teams saw their journey in the first round of BGIS 2023: The Grind come to a close. Nevertheless, the remaining 128 teams advanced to Round 2. In this round, the field narrows further, with 64 out of these 128 teams facing elimination, leaving only 64 to advance to Round 3.
