Valorant Sunset Map Guide: Strategies, Layout, and Agent Picks

0

Valorant’s Sunset map, set in a vibrant Los Angeles cityscape, presents a unique challenge for players. Its open layout and emphasis on angles and movement demand adaptability and strategic thinking. This guide will delve into the map’s key areas, effective strategies for both attack and defense, and optimal agent choices for maximizing your success.

Map Layout and Understanding Key Areas

  • Mid Courtyard: The central hub of the map. Controlling Mid Courtyard grants significant map dominance. Coordinate with your team for effective pushes and rotations.
  • A Site: Offers limited cover, making it challenging for attackers to take without proper utility usage and flanking maneuvers. Be mindful of defensive setups around A Stairs.
  • B Site: Market provides close-quarters combat opportunities. Anticipate aggressive pushes and be prepared for retakes if overwhelmed.

Attack and Defense Strategies

  • Attack: Prioritize gaining Mid Courtyard control to disrupt defensive setups. Utilize coordinated utility, split pushes, and flanking maneuvers to keep defenders off-balance. Capitalize on enemy rotations and adapt your strategies to counter their playstyle.
  • Defense: Focus on establishing strong site holds, delaying enemy pushes, and facilitating rotations for quick retakes. Communication is crucial for identifying enemy positions and coordinating counter-strategies.

Optimal Agent Choices

  • Clove: Their potent smokes and ability to overheal after kills contribute significantly to map control and survivability. Clove’s ultimate can turn the tide of a round.
  • Skye: Provides excellent information gathering through her recon abilities and blinds, especially useful for coordinated site pushes.
  • Viper: While her smokes require precision on Sunset, strategic placement can block off rotations and force defenders into disadvantageous positions.
  • Cypher: His surveillance tools are invaluable for defending both sites. Tripwires slow pushes and his ultimate reveals enemy locations for coordinated attacks.
  • Breach: Provides essential crowd control with flashes and stuns, aiding attackers when pushing into heavily defended sites.

Additional Tips for Success

  • Utilize close-range weapons: Shotguns and SMGs are surprisingly effective on Sunset due to its frequent close-quarters engagements.
  • Prioritize Sound Awareness: Pay close attention to footsteps and audio cues to anticipate enemy movements and flanks.
  • Coordinate Utility Usage: Combine flashes, smokes, and recon abilities for maximum disruption and site control.
  • Prioritize Retakes: Avoid overcommitting to early fights, focus on preserving numbers, and retake control of sites when possible.

The meta for Sunset is still evolving. Experimentation and adaptability are key to discovering new strategies and dominating this unique map.

Vitality vs. GIANTX: Can a Winless Team Pull Off an Upset?

0

Okay, so Vitality and GIANTX are both having a rough Stage 1 in VCT EMEA. But this isn’t some boring match – desperate teams make for wild plays. Could GIANTX pull off a miracle upset, or will Vitality cement their bounce-back? Let’s break it down.

The Stakes Vitality’s kinda in limbo. They’re middle of the pack, but a win here keeps their playoff dreams alive. For GIANTX though, this is basically “do-or-die.” It’s not impossible for them to still qualify, but their backs are against the wall.

What to Watch For

  • Vitality’s Headspace: They choked against Gentle Mates. Are they rattled? If they underestimate GIANTX, it could cost them.
  • GIANTX’s New Tricks: Roster changes mean new strategies. Maybe GIANTX has pulled a surprise agent comp out of their hat, something Vitality won’t see coming.
  • The Map Factor: Look up both teams’ win rates on the maps likely to be played. If Vitality dominates on a particular map, GIANTX needs to ban it or get creative.

The “If Factor” If Vitality plays their usual aggressive style, and it clicks, they should win. But, if GIANTX has a crazy strat that throws them off, or if GIANTX’s new Duelist pops off unexpectedly, all bets are off.

Why You Should Tune In

Don’t write this match off, folks. GIANTX has nothing to lose, which means we could see some high-risk, high-reward plays. And if Vitality’s nerves get the better of them again? Well, that’s the recipe for an upset special.

To win any battle royale game, you need plenty of loot that will help you to survive till the end. Almost every battle royale game including COD Mobile has some high-tier loot zones across battle royale maps. Therefore, if you land on one of those loot zones, you are going to get some very good weapons and other essential items.

In this article, we will dig into the high-tier loot zones that are spread across COD Mobile battle royale maps.

How to Find Out a High-Tier Loot Zone in COD Mobile?

First of all, you need to remember that every COD Mobile match has different high-tier loot zones. Distinguishing a high-tier loot zone in COD Mobile is not that hard.

At the start of a game, open the mini-map and you will see some places’ names are written in orange color instead of white. These are the high-tier loot zones in that particular match.

However, if you like playing sneaky, we would recommend you not to land on these high-tier zones as a bunch of players land there to get loot and fight with each other to survive.

ESL Pro League To Continue in Previous CS2 Patch, With Overpass in Map Rotation

ESL Pro League Season 19 is currently underway, and some of the best Counter-Strike teams from throughout the globe are battling it out for a shot at the lion’s share of the USD 750,000 prize pool and a direct invite to IEM Cologne 2024.

With Valve dropping a major CS2 update in the middle of the event, fans of the competitive shooter were left wondering whether ESL would choose to replace Overpass with Dust 2 in the map rotation.

In only a few hours since the update dropped, ESL has already published a statement on the matter.

In the aforementioned Tweet, ESL confirmed that the tournament will continue to be played on the previous CS2 patch, and Overpass won’t be replaced by Dust 2 for the time being.

The statement reads, “After today’s CS2 update we would like to confirm that EPL S19 will continue to be played on the previous patch and the map pool will remain as is, including de_overpass.”

This also means that the players won’t be able to use the newly implemented left-hand viewmodels, bob improvements, and the Inferno changes will also not be seen in the event.

“A map switch mid-tournament would not be fair on Group C&D teams so we are not considering a map pool change for the remainder of EPL,” Head Counter-Strike referee for ESL Pro League, Michal Slowinski, said. “As for the current patch, updates (sometimes) come with unintended bugs. We will monitor the situation to see how stable it is before using it.”

Will Valorant Be Launched on Consoles Like the Xbox and PS5? Here Are the Latest Discussions and Release Date Rumours

Ever since Riot unveiled the tactical shooter Valorant in June 2020, there has been one question on the minds of every existing player who owns a console and that is, when is Valorant coming to consoles?

Well, on digging a tad bit deeper we found out that Riot, the company behind the successful FPS game Valorant, had posted job offers for QA engineers to test out Valorant on console, and ever since this news broke, the entire community went crazy over the possibility of seeing Valorant being available on consoles like the PS5 and Xbox.

The community started drawing parallels between the ability to avail games like R6, OverWatch 2, and other titles being available on console and how porting the game to a controller experience would help reach out to a portion of players that are based on consoles exclusively such as kids/teenagers.

Amongst all this, Riot faced flak from the other side of the community worried about how crossplay would ruin the experience for competitive players in PUBs since controller aim assist could be overpowered, potentially giving console players an unfair advantage over PC players during crossplay-enabled matches.

We believe that the fundamentals of the game design are the real issue since Valorant’s gameplay feels crisp on a mouse and keyboard setup. To clear the gap up, Valorant will need t to support aim assist on the controllers, but with the average rounds in the game being very short & with the records of CSGO being launched on Xbox and then discontinued right after because the pinpoint accuracy and speed to lands flicks and the short burst of gameplay weren’t appealing to the console userbase.

Valorant Episode 7 Act 2

Unless the entire experience of the game was reworked for the console, there is no guarantee that Riot will find the effort and time spent worthy of the game in the long run. Based on the last open hint at the game being “prototyped” for a console port by Anna Dolon in 2020, RIOT did admit that it wasn’t a priority for them.

The excitement went over the roof for fans when Riot made an appearance at the Xbox and Bethesda Games showcase in 2022, but this was only to announce that game pass subscribers could access certain rewards and benefits across their competitive games, including Valorant.

Although shifting back into perspective in 2024, things are looking even bleaker for the potential PC port since Riot laid off more than 500+ members of its workforce with Dylan Jadeja, CEO of Riot Games quoting “Over the past few years, as Riot more than doubled in headcount, we spread our efforts across more and more projects without sharp enough razors to decide what players needed most.” He also went on to add “The adjustments we are making aim to focus on areas that have the greatest impact on your experience while reducing the investment in things that don’t.”  While this didn’t affect their core IP teams, Riot seems more cautious moving forward – especially when it comes to Research and development.

Where there’s smoke, there is fire which is true to an extent but in this case, there hasn’t been even the tiniest speck of information on Valorant for console and we have good reason to believe that it doesn’t sound too reassuring shortly as well. Stay tuned to Talkesport for the latest updates on Valorant.

In the meanwhile, did you know you could access our Instagram on PS5’s secret web browser just to realize how bad the experience is and eventually give up & open it on your phone?
