  • ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณย Anuj “Amaterasu” Sharma

Optic India lineup could well feature antidote, forsaken

Optic Gamingย is vested in trying to set up their local squad in India to compete in the South Asian & APAC region. The team will go by the name Optic India, well sorted to go official with the lineup tomorrow.

We take a close look at the selection process, the individuals who got shortlisted and the potential players who would make it through to the Optic India lineup. The top eight from fourteen-hundred odd entries got cued to five, and the official announcement is expected to come tomorrow.

We take you through ourย best guess of the Optic India lineup

Sabyasachi “Antidote” Bose

Antidote, as we all know is one of the finest snipers in the country. He has played for JMD Gaming, Invisible Wings, Eternal Esports and Team Malhar in the past. If not him, it will be the difficult job to select a primary AWPer for the OpTiC India roster.

Agneya “Marzil” Koushik

Marzil could might as take the role of a lurker in the OpTic India line-up. Twenty-year-old is a beast on LAN and he had 38 bombs at OpTic tryouts. He bagged a lot of experience while playing for tMg Gaming and Entity Gaming.

Nikhil “Forsaken” Kumawat

Forsaken had a bunch of ups and downs in his career. He was a significant part of Shooting Monkeys, SemperX and Team Malhar’s success at the domestic level. About ten months ago, he was handed a two-year ban by ESL who is a member of Esports Integrity Coalition. Later, the ban was lifted in February 2018. Forsaken could play the role of support or entry for OpTic India squad as he is regular in portraying so for teams he has played previously for.

Vishal “Haivaan” Sharma

Haivaan is a fresh name in the Indian Counter-Strike scene. Twenty-four years old has impressed everyone with his abilities to communicate and give call-outs in-game. His selection into the OpTic line-up is none less than a dream come true. Either Haivaan or Formless has no reason to resist taking over the roles of IGL and let their seniors shoot the brunt while in game.

Rishabh “Formless” Tomar –

Just like Haivaan, Formless also used to be an untold name in the Indian scene. He received significant recognition after he made his cut into the top #8 at OpTic India tryouts. Twenty-two years old could either play support or burden himself with the responsibility of an IGL.

We’ll just wait to see what unfolds tomorrow when the official lineup is put into picture!

NBK on trial with Cloud9

1

According to a report by Vakarm.net, Nathan “NBK” Schmitt is on trial with Cloud 9. Schmitt will become the captain and in-game-leader of the North-American roster. Both the parties have not yet commented on the information.

The role of the in-game leader in Cloud 9 was vacated on May 26, when the team expelled Pujan “FNS” Mehta. Twenty-six year old said that he could not find a tactical approach that would suit all his teammates. NBK could continue his lead-in-game experience in a drifting team since it won the Major in January and suffered the departure of its star player Jack “Stewie2k” Yip in March.

Cloud9 will be seen playing ECS Finals Season 3 this weekend at SSE Arena in London. The league had recently changed its rules which now allows a team to make two transfers in a single season, but only one can come from a team participating in the ECS League. Cloud 9 having already used this possibility with FNS, NBK would not play for the North-American team even if the transfer would be finalized before that date.

Team Brutality needs no introduction. The boys have shut down all the criticism after topping the scoreboard for the Summer Season. The return of Ayush โ€œastaRRRโ€ Deora has led to a spree of satisfying results for the team.

Team Invictus is an old name in the Indian Counter-Strike scene and their core team has won commendable titles under the banner of Entity Gaming & Eternal Esports in 2017. They havenโ€™t stopped their run in 2018 and are tied with Team Brutality at nine wins in the online season.

2ez Gaming is a bunch of young boys tuned in to give an intense head-to-head fight to the veterans in the Indian scene. They are on a uprise since the ILG Mumbai Qualifiers where they couldnโ€™t close down the maps against Entity Gaming at GearUP Cafe, Powai. Since then, they have acquired astonishing results in the ESL India Premierships.

Entity Gaming has had several ups and downs in the second season of ESL India Premiership. Having won both Fall Season finals and Winter Season finals in 2017, boys in blue were pretty dominating during late 2017. Entity merely qualified for the LAN event only after 2ez won against Portal e-Sports and VAC Banned won over Team Malhar.

Cloud9 announces FNS to inactive CSGO roster

1

Cloud9 has taken to Twitter to announce that Pujan โ€œFNSโ€ Mehta has been added on the inactive list from the starting line-up of the organization’s CS:GO roster. FNS will play for Cloud9 at the upcoming ECS Finals in London, but Cloud9 will beย open to offers and opportunities from other teams immediately.

According to a report by dbltap,ย Cloud9 is considering G2 Esports players Dan “apEX” Madesclaire or Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt to replace him.

FNS joined Cloud9 last month as a replacement for parting rifler Jake โ€œStewie2kโ€ Yip, who left for SK Gaming. FNS previously played for CompLexity and Counter Logic Gaming, primarily as an in-game leader. Earlier this week, Cloud9 CEO Jack Etienne mentioned in a tweet that the organization paid a $200,000 buyout to acquire FNS. During his time with the team, Cloud9 reached the playoffs of DreamHack Marseille but failed to get past groups at IEM Sydney and the ESL Pro League Season 7 Finals.

Fierce Tiger disqualified from Asia Minor

Past few days have been full of controversy in the Chinese Counter-Strike. On May 17, Fierce Tiger qualified for CS:GO Asia Championship through Chinese Qualifier. Later, on May 19, Kun “LEo” Hou was handed Valve Anti-cheat (VAC) Ban by Valve alongside Perfect World and his team was disqualified from CS:GO Asia Championship. In the meantime, Fierce Tiger had already reached the quarter-finals stage in the Chinese Qualifier for the Asian Minor. Fierce Tiger fielded in an unknown player nicknamed ‘tbgirl’ in the shoes of LEo.

Fierce Tiger reached the grand-finals with ‘tbgirl’ by beating MAX and ROAR in quarter-finals and semi-finals respectively. Fierce Tiger met VG.Flash in the best-of-three grand-finals of the Chinese Qualifier for the Asia Minor but the latter couldn’t attend the finals due to internet problems. VG.Flash submitted strong evidence to the organizers which suggested that their internet was sabotaged. FACEIT, after going through the proofs, suggested a re-match but Fierce Tiger opposed the organizer’s decision stating that the players have been on a vacation since qualifying for the Asia Minor.

Although, after a severe investigation into the chaos, FACEIT used it’s own data to discover a link between LEo and tbgirl. Later, Valve also confirmed the organizer’s report. Since ROAR lost to Fierce Tiger in the semi-finals of the Chinese Qualifier for the Asian Minor, FACEIT is planning the best-of-three grand-final between ROAR and VG.Flash in the upcoming days. The winner would get a slot in the Asian Minor held at Twickenham Stadium, London. This is the second tournament wherein, Fierce Tiger has been disqualified.

Olof Returns to FaZe Starting Lineup

1

Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer is back to the active lineup of FaZe Clan, where he will take the place of Richard “Xizt” Landstrรถm. He decided to take a break from his career for unknown reasons.

However, Richard “Xizt” Landstrรถm took the place of Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer in the active lineup of FaZe Clan for 2 months. He played DreamHack Masters Marseille, IEM Sydney, ESL Pro League Season 7 Finals with them.

After coming back from inactivity, the Swede will play ECS Season 5 finals starting from 8th June in London, United Kingdom along with ESL One Belo Horizonte starting from June 13-17.

Fierce Tiger and VG.Flash to replay Asia Minor finals

1

VG.Flash and Fierce Tiger will be playing the final match of Chinese Qualifier for the Asia Minor – London 2018, which was previously cancelled, reports HLTV. VG.Flash couldn’t participate because of problems with the Internet. Later, it became known that the team suspects a rival in an unfair game.

On May 19, Fierce Tiger’s member Kun “LEo” Hou actually received a VAC Ban. The team was disqualified from CS:GO Asia Championship 2018. The organizers conducted an investigation and stated that the player used prohibited software in the Chinese Qualifier for the championship. In the qualifiers for the Asian Minor, Fierce Tiger played with an unknown player nicknamed “TBgirl” instead of LEo, but it’s unknown that whether there is a relation between the two.

After the investigation, tournament organizer, FACEIT, sent an official email to both the teams, in which they announced the decision to hold the match once again.

Fierce Tiger remains to be unhappy… unhappy with the organizers’ decision. A representative of the team published a post on Reddit, in which he stated that the players were waiting for the opponents in the lobby for more than an hour. According to him, this VS.Flash violated FACEIT rules, therefore Fierce Tiger deserves the slot at the Asian Minor.

swag leaves Torqued

1

In a relatively unpopular move, Braxton “swag” Pierce left Torqued due to personal reasons. The twenty-one year old informed all his fans through his Twitter handle that he needs ‘mental rest’. The shocking news came in only after his team exited already in the group stages during DreamHack Open Tours. Although his team lost against both Gambit and AGO, swag had 1.02 rating throughout the tournament.

swag, in his Twitlonger post, said,

“Hey all, today I have decided to step down from Torqued. I don’t want to go into details why I’m making this decision and I know the timing is really bad as they have a big tourney coming up in Brazil but I don’t think there was a good time to make this choice. I still have love for the players and wish them the best of luck.”

“As for me, I know my “comeback” since being unbanned from ESL and Dreamhack has been underwhelming. I know I’m capable of way more and I just need to keep grinding.”

“I feel like I need a mental reset but for now I will start streaming and playing FPL/Rank S to try and reach my potential and consider other offers that come my way.”

“Thank you for continuing to support me throughout all of these ups and downs”

Torqued line-up:

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Kenneth “koosta” Suen

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Braxton “swag” Pierce

This move has shaken the North-American organization few days prior to ESL One Belo Horizonte and the squad has got limited time to find a suitable replacement.

TyLoo confirmed at CSGO Asia Championships; talent revealed.

On May 19, Kun “LEo” Hou of Fierce Tigers was handed a VAC Ban (Valve Anti-Cheat) ย by Valve for usingย prohibited software. Two days prior to the ban, his team, Fierce Tiger qualified for CS:GO Asia Championship through Chinese Qualifier. Soon after the VAC ban, he was permanently banned from all Valve and Perfect World affiliated tournaments and his team were disqualified from CS:GO Asia Championship.

Since TyLoo won the losers final against MFC and secured the third position, they were likely to replace Fierce Tiger.
