An AI built by a CS:GO Player caught more than 14,500 cheaters

A CS:GO player and a hacker, 2eggs, has created an AI called HestiaNet that identifies cheaters in a much faster way than before and moreover it has already caught more than 14,000 already.

2eggs is a young but experienced programmer and has created FACEIT ban logs and Minerva ban logs before for FACEIT and has also been awarded with $12,000 for helping Valve identify bugs and security risks.

HestiaNet uses his steam ID to review the cases of overwatch. Itโ€™s system watches the footage, reviews it and gives verdict itself for the same, stores the alleged cheaterโ€™s SteamID and occasionally review it to check if it is banned or not. If Valve bans the player who was found guilty, HestiaNet takes note of it which increases overall accuracy.

14,515 of 14,782 cases which the AI reviewed and found guilty have been banned by Valve.

Man spends ยฃ1m on game character, friend accidentally sells it for ยฃ400

0

A man in China spent more than ยฃ1 million on a video game character just to find out that his friend sold it for less than ยฃ500. He ended up suing his friend and the case was taken up in court.

Lou Mou spent about ยฃ1 million (approx 9,00,00,000 INR) developing a character in the newly released MMORPG title, Justice Online according to court documents reported by Chinese news site Abacus. Mr Mou’s friend Li Mouscheng, accidentally listed the customized character on the in-game marketplace for just 3,888 yuan.

Mr. Mouscheng explained that he made the error due to being “dizzy from excessive gaming” and that he was meaning to return the character to his friend after being given it to play. The matter was taken up in court and a Judge at the Hongya County Court of Sichuan Province ruled that the character must be returned to the original owner and that damages of 90,000 yuan must be warded to the player who bought the character for the discounted price. The court also warned people about the harmful effects of uncontrolled gaming.

China is a country that struggles with severe video game addiction and this incident comes after China announced strict curfew measures on gamers as well as actions against young players. Children under the age of 18 are banned from playing more than 90 minutes of games per day on a week day, and no more than three hours per day on weekends and holidays. They even have systematic technology in place like face recognition and parental control to help curb this issue.

Majority of titles be it Pc or Console/Mobile, earn a heavy share of their revenue from in game purchases. Although the skins and extra downloadable content and the touch of cosmetics adds a sense of personalization to the game, the players must always remember certain limits. If the people don’t start exercising some self control then authorities might need to step in to intervene just how new laws in China prevent children under 16 years old from spending more than 200 yuan per month on in-game items.

Call of Duty: Mobile Season 2 is now live

Call of Duty’s 2nd season is now up and running and introduces brand new content in game. It comes with a free as well as paid battle pass with Alaska themed grenades and gun skins to win with progressing tiers. The update also brings a new winter themed map called as ‘Summit’ which is available for play in ranked as well as casual multiplayer mode.

Zombie mode has also been added and is available to players above level 5 and it comes with great rewards as well. There are 3 sub game modes available in Zombies- Raid, Hardcore Raid and Survival. The map is the classic Shi No Numa map from Call of Duty: World at War but has been tweaked a little bit. The survival mode is an endless conquest between zombies and you and the Raid mode is an 8 wave zombie killing challenge where you can purchase several weapons, buffs as well as revival boosts.

Controller support is officially a part of Call of Duty:Mobile. Players can make use of Sony DualShock4 as well as Xbox One Controllers to play matches but they will be queued only against other players using controllers. If you’re playing in a party and if even a single players makes use of a controller, then the entire party will be matched up against players using controllers.

Two new login methods have also been added which are Google Play and Gamecenter. When using a Guest account you will now have the option to link that guest account to your Google Play or Game Center account. That will allow you to save, protect, and sync your data to those accounts. However, unlike Facebook or Line this does not pull any information over, like your profile picture. Players will not be able to switch from a previous account to one of these new login options without losing your player data, but all players may now utilize these options to initially setup and link your account.

After trying this update hands-on, we can only conclude by saying that the game looks much smoother, lag free and more fun to play and with newer modes coming a rapid place, players might just never get bored of this title.

PMCO 2019 Prelims comes to an end confirming Global Final teams

0

With the conclusion of PMCO Preliminary round, the final list of teams heading to Kuala Lumpur to compete in the Global Finals is now complete. The Putra World Trade centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia will be hosting the world’s top 16 PUBG Mobile squads from November 29th to December 1st. The winners will walk away with a giant share from the 500,000$ prize pool.

The final standings of the preliminary round showed Mega esports, Bigetron and Orange Esports ranking up 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively and making their way onto the global finals. Mega esports bagged a total of 4 chicken dinners in 18 matches, the same as Bigetron. Although Mega led the kill score board with a total of 148 kills as Bigetron was not far behind with 125 kills. Orange esports got Chicken dinner twice although managed to get only 59 kills but they played smart and tactical which helped them rank 3rd beating teams with higher kill counts. The standings after the final game were as follows:

position 1-8

position 9-16

If we look at Indian teams’ performances, Team IND ranked 8th on the final leaderboard and Synerge ranked 10th. Team IND performed admirably with 2 chicken dinners and a total of 59 kills. Synerge had a dream start to the tournament ranking up 3rd after the first three games but things went wrong for them as more matches came. IND on the other hand lagged behind during the initial stages but made a strong comeback on day 2 and 3. Team INS finished 13th with 38 kills. India will be represented by Entity Gaming and Team Soul who ripped apart their competitors in South Asia regional finals.

The gameplay was at a never before seen level and we no longer know what to expect from the Global finals. With the skill cap getting higher and higher with each event we can hope to see some carnage filled battles and close point differences when the final day comes and a PUBG Mobile King is crowned

Team Secret announce entry into CSGO scene with m1x pickup

Team Secret has entered the Counter Strike Global Offensive scene with a high-potential but largely promiscuous roster. The organisation has picked up the m1x lineup that made waves in recent times, especially for their performances in ECS.

The lineup features promising Albanian star Flatron ‘juanflatroo’ Halimi, who had joined PHOENIX on trial.

Team Secret are in the playoffs stage of the Qi Banja Luka Europe closed qualifier, topping their group and will be seen representing the organisation in the playoffs of the qualifiers.

“CSGO is a title weโ€™ve been exploring for the past 6 months, and weโ€™re happy to announce an extremely promising young roster to end the year and kick off 2020, While only having spent a very short time together, this squad has shown the potential to become one of the greats on the scene, and we look forward to putting all of our organizationโ€™s resources around them in their development” Team Secret CEO John Yao said in his statement.

Indeed, the roster is promising based on recent results and it will be interesting to see just how good they can be with the backing of an organisation like Team Secret.

Dignitas in talks with Xizt, friberg and f0rest to build new roster

Dignitas are one of the many organisations that had announced their plans to return into the fold in Counter Strike Global Offensive scene after the Starladder Berlin Major 2019.

Interestingly, no reports had emerged over the ensuing weeks of any impending roster pickups by the North American organisation.

According to Jarek ‘DeKay’ Lewis though, Dignitas are looking to make headlines with their new roster. The organisation is in talks with three of current/former Ninjas in Pyjamas players in an attempt to reunite them under their banner.

The players in question are Adam ‘friberg’ Friberg, Richard ‘Xizt’ Landstorm and Patrik ‘f0rest’ Lundberg.

While Xizt is on the bench at Fnatic, f0rest is currently an active and the last standing member of the OG Ninjas in Pyjamas roster.

Friberg on the other hand, is a free agent, having left Heroic towards the end of August, 2019.

The Swedes are not the only ones named, with the report stating that Dignitas have gone ahead and acquired Hakon ‘hallzerk’ Fjaerli from Nordavind, with the Norwegian youngster likely to take up the role of the primary AWPer for the North American organization.

A fifth is yet to be named but considering the names mentioned, Dignitas are likely to target a player that can speak in the same language as the players already in talks/ acquired.

The aim of Dignitas could be to put together a team with high reputation and good potential, especially with rumours of a franchised super league doing the rounds.

Christopher ‘GeT_RighT’ Alesund is no more a part of Ninjas in Pyjamas and could be another star that Dignitas end up targeting, should they aim at bringing the legendary Swedish brand back together.

Exciting times ahead for the OG NiP fans if this roster indeed takes shape in the coming weeks, albeit under the banner of Dignitas.
