CSGO Operation Broken Fang 2020 – All New Updates To The Game

After weeks of suspense and anticipation, Valve has finally rewarded the keyed up Counter-Strike: Global Offensive fans with new Operation Broken Fang. The gold-themed operation, in contrast with the last years’ winter themed operation, has exciting updates ready to make CSGO great again.

The 2020 operation pass has all the right ingredients to stirrup the dozing CSGO fans. From new agent recruits to exquisite skins and gloves, the release notes for 12/3/2020 got it all. 

New Missions 

Players can upgrade their Broken Fang Coin by completing weekly missions on their new mission card. Completing the missions will earn you stars, that Battle Pass owners will be able to spend on their rewards of choice: which include a new weapon case, three weapon collections, stickers, patches, and more.

Similar to Operation Shattered Web, this will require agents to engage in different operations in order to reach the diamond rank. By completing Premium unleaded, manual transmission, under the hood, and warming up, agents can rank up from their initial rank bronze to final rank diamond. 

New Battlegrounds

New operations pass brings a change of scenery to CSGO. The developer has introduced seven new maps in casual game mode, and one new map “Ancient” in scrimmage mode. Valve introduces a new map around the Jungle-esque aesthetic to the competitive map pool. It shares similarities between de_aztec, a CS 1.6 map that was also in CS:GO but was omitted after it’s first initial updates.

Other maps include:

  • Engage, and Apollo to Scrimmage, Casual and Deathmatch game modes.
  • Frostbite to Danger Zone game mode.
  • Guard and Elysion to Wingman game mode.

More female agents 

CSGO was initially released with an all-male agent roster, that is now starting to look a lot more diverse. The new update introduces twenty new agents, among which three are female, namely Cmdr. Mae “Dead Cold” Jamison, 1st Lieutenant Farlow, and Getaway Sally.

Similar to the map colour palette, the new agents’ outfit adds a fresh touch to the overall grim and formal aesthetics of the game, especially Sir bloody Miami Darryl and Safecracker Voltzmann. SWAT agents and professional agents can be recruited across all maps. Whereas agents in other categories are only available on selected maps.

Operation Broken Fang Premier mode 

Replicating the third-party matchmaking service Faceit’s ban and pick system, Valve introduces Operation Broken Fang Premier mode that will allow players to compete in a map they fancy.

This game feature allows players to queue for a 5v5 competitive mode with an option to ban and pick the maps of their choice before a match starts, similar to Faceit.

This map veto feature, prior to match start, is available only for the operation pass holders who are competing in Operation Broken Fang Premier mode, for now. 

Detailed Stats

With the introduction of Operation Broken Fang, Valve added: “a new way to stat track.” Players who bought the operation pass will have access to their statistics, which will be tracked automatically and available for access on the “Operation Stats’ ‘ page. Under the Map performance, Heatmaps, and Weapon Stats tab, you will be able to gloss over your individual map win rate, your win/loss/tie ratio, your hit region map to see where your bullets land on an enemy, and your tracked kills with each weapon that could provide inside information on your playstyle.

Retake Mode Added

In this fast-paced game mode, Three Ts will be tasked upon to defend a bomb site against four CTs, which will be available to all players during Operation Broken Fang. Players will have to choose a loadout card at the beginning of each round, and the first team to successfully complete 8 rounds will be declared the winners.

New skins, gloves, and stickers in Operation Broken Fang

Valve has gone all out on their 2020 Operation Broken Fang release with multiple weapon skin collections. The game adds a bunch of new weapon skins to adorn on your weapons. Blue-purple tones of Control collection, grey dull shades of Havoc collection, and a dusty mirage themed Ancient collection is all set to take up some space in CSGO inventories. Moreover, a new “Metal skill group patch collection” will allow players to wear their badges of achievement as an add-on over their agent’s uniform. Graffiti based on recoil is also a fun new addition to the game.

Valve has released the latest operation for CS:GO, Operation: Broken Fang. Here is all you need to know about the new CSGO Operation.

You must complete different sets of daily missions and of others in order to earn stars. The stars can subsequently be redeemed for rewards of your choice.

There are some sweet rewards you can choose from; Broken Fang Cases, Ancient Collection, Control Collection, Havoc Collection, and new Agent Skins among others.

There is also a new statistics page that can only be accessed by Operation Broken Fang buyers, which will have detailed statistics that will be mapped automatically.

What does it cost?

How much does the New CSGO Operation Broken Fang cost?

The Broken Fang pass will cost players $15 USD.

This will unlock the entire operation as well as reward unlocks and an XP boost.

Valve officially adds Retake mode to CSGO with Operation Broken Fang

The long wait is finally over, and Valve has finally shipped the much-anticipated tenth operation to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The new CSGO operation, named ‘Operation Broken Fang’ brings in a whole bunch of new additions to the competitive shooter. However, the ones that caught our attention the most were the new ‘Retake’ game mode and the Chat Wheel effects.

Retake Mode In CSGO Operation Broken Fang

If you have browsed the community servers’ section of the game, then you’re probably already familiar with the ‘Retake’ mode. However, the new and official Retake has some extra twists for those of you that are bored by the previous version.

For starters, this game mode will strictly be a 3 vs 4 matchups, where three Ts will defend an already planted C4 against 4 CTs. Players will also be able to choose a loadout card at the beginning of each round to retake (or defend) the bomb site. The first team to get to 8 round wins are declared the winners.

This game mode is available for every CSGO player regardless if they purchased the Operation pass or not. In case you haven’t tried this mode yet, we strongly recommend you do.

Chat Wheel Sounds In CSGO Operation Broken Fang

We can already hear the Dota 2 players celebrating over this new addition. Similar to the MOBA, a fully-customizable chat wheel has been implemented in CSGO.

Quickly communicate with teammates by selecting common commands in a fully-customizable chat wheel,” the official blog post states. “Commands generate contextual pings that can be viewed by your teammates, and the resulting call-outs will automatically be translated in chat.”

This seems to be a nice addition to the game since it prevents players without microphones from the hassle of typing every callout in maps. This also speeds up the process of giving callouts, which can now be done in a matter of milliseconds with a single press of a button.

The Operation Broken Fang Pass is priced at $15 USD, which is almost similar to that of last year’s Operation Shattered Web.

Chaos Esports Club exits CSGO

Chaos have released their male CS:GO team, the organisation has announced. As reported earlier by Jarek Dekay Lewis, North American Organization Chaos Esports club has decided to call quits on their CS:GO project after the “Ongoing Corona Pandemic” has been a smite which hindered their ability to provide support.

Chaos Esports club is currently competing at the DreamHack masters NA winter 2020 where they are currently leading the table with 2 wins and are also the one among those who will battle for the whopping prize pool of 500,000USD at the IEM Global Challenge. Laying its roots back in 2018 featuring players like Markus “⁠pronax⁠” Wallsten, and Mikail “⁠Maikelele⁠” Bill on their roster, Chaos too rebranded from its former version, “Digital Chaos” back then.

In their blog posted, it was stated, “At the start of the year we saw the beginning of a pandemic that would have lasting effects far greater than any of us realized. As the year continued it became clear that in-person entertainment was not going to be viable and esports events and tournaments were going to experience massive change.

This would have far reaching impacts throughout the ecosystem, particularly on sponsor value, removing a large portion of revenue that esports teams need to stay competitive and effectively support their players.

Sadly, despite a great deal of effort, the impacts of this have now hit home with us and put pressure on our organization’s ability to support our rosters and the incredible players behind them. As a result, we are releasing our CS:GO team at the end of the year and searching for a new home for our Rainbow Six team.”

Apart from this roster update, Erick “Xeppaa” Bach had been linked to FURIA but still there was no official word from Chaos Esports Club’s side.

Pakistan’s Minister of Science and Technology promises first ever Esports National Tournament

Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has announced an official “Esports National Tournament”, during a chat with internet personality and activist Waqar Zaka. This announcement could lead to the first tournament in Pakistan that will have involvement from the government of Pakistan.

Waqar Zaka has previously worked on various social issues that the youth of Pakistan deals with on a daily basis. However, his recent contributions to esports have benefitted the local gaming community to a huge extent, including pushing the authorities to unban PUBG.

This interview-cum-announcement was somewhat unexpected as well since Pakistani authorities are still sleeping on the relatively thriving esports scene, which was also the cause of PUBG ban. However, the short video was a breath of fresh air for the local community as the Federal minister seemed quite informed about the current state of esports. He commented on creating further job opportunities for the youth who’s into gaming, by offering diploma courses in universities and colleges.

“We plan on working alongside the companies (who have job opportunities) to create a syllabus and introduce gaming certifications in universities,” Fawad Chaudhry said.

He further stated that there are plenty of brands and companies in Pakistan who are willing to invest in gaming, but there are not enough resources that they could hire. The casting talent applying for jobs abroad, and packed gaming zones, however, tell a different story. Majority of gaming talent in Pakistan is either creating opportunities out of scratch or shooting their shots in the international esports. Arslan Ash’s struggle to reach the pinnacle of success in the world of Tekken, is a major example of local talent fending for itself.

Whatever the case, the minister’s wish to expand learning opportunities could motivate more people to invest in gaming. Since, despite a market that is growing at 20% yearly, according to Fawad Chaudry, it still lacks a proper institution or governmental body that could provide a platform to the gaming youth. Currently, Pakistan’s first esports academy is the only institute offering courses related to esports.

The tournament will have private sponsors

Despite being an event backed by the Minister of Science and Technology himself, the “National” tournament will have private sponsors. According to him, private sponsors will prevent the bureaucracy from interfering into the event.

According to the video snippet, the tournament will kickstart in March. He hasn’t commented on the games this tournament will include, but for now, a government-backed gaming tournament is enough to keep the hopes of the local community afloat.

They have mentioned that the information was released in the game itself, through the game update banners.

The new character has not been revealed yet but several leaks have already created a strong portfolio about the upcoming character. Free Fire dataminers dug up the game files from the upcoming update which had revealed a possibility of a collaboration between Free Fire and Cristiano Ronaldo. The dataminers have found various cosmetic items related to Ronaldo, as well as an emote with the name Sii and the description, “Envy of my movements?”

Furthermore, apart from the aforementioned stuff, another sentence has been found by the dataminers on the Advanced Server OB25 server saying, “Global Partnership With Cristiano Ronaldo.” The latest information also reveals details about the new ability that the CR7 based character can have.

The skill is named as Chrono Skill (CR7) and its description is as follows, “[It] Creates a force field that blocks 500 damage from enemies. Movement speed increases by 40%. During the skill activation period, allies in the force field receive a 40% speed bonus. Lasts 10s. 40s cooldown.”

The ability is pretty much self explanatory and a few changes might be seen before the game releases this character with its next global update. This partnership will be one of the biggest collaboration by Free Fire till date.
