Penta Esports announce ‘Penta Challenge’ Valorant tournament with ₹5L prize pool

Penta Esports, the esports division of Newgen gaming, is hosting a new tournament called Penta Challenge – Valorant in association with Facebook Gaming and Trinity Gaming. This tournament will be a part of Penta Esports’ newly launched IP, ‘Penta Challenge’ and will start from 5th October.

Valorant has become one of the favourite FPS titles in India and the rigorous competition in its esports ecosystem have paved the way for many players to go pros. Several tournament organizers are boosting this growth by organizing different events and Penta Esports have also presented an opportunity for budding talent.

As mentioned earlier, this event will kickstart from 5 October and run over multiple stages to conclude on 24th October. Two open qualifiers will be held and will be followed by grand finale where top two teams from each bracket will fight with four invited teams to grab the throne.

The tournament has a massive prize pool of ₹5,00,000 and it will be distributed as follows:

The registrations for this tournament have already started on 24th September and will go on till 8th October on Penta Esports’ newly launched platform. The entire tournament will be exclusively broadcasted on Facebook and the broadcast will begin from quarterfinals of respective qualifiers.

This event will also mark the launch of Penta Esports’ platform, pentaesports.com. The platform will be a one stop destination for all things esports, including match schedules, match results, VODs of tournaments and leagues, content, news, announcements and much more.

The platform will allow users to discover and register for tournaments. It will also allow teams to create recruitment posts and players to find teams. This will enable a lot more players to participate in tournaments for team-based game titles.

Penta Esports CMO Akshay Paul talked about Penta Challenge and said, “We’ve always had the vision to bring opportunities to the player and amazing viewing experience to the spectators and our newest IP, Penta Challenge, is a step in that direction. While we’ll start with Valorant, going forward, we will have the Penta Challenge for multiple game titles.”

Free Fire Max – What is different from normal Free Fire??

Garena released an official note on the Free Fire developers blog, about the update and main news that are only available in the MAX version.

Many players have asked us about what’s in the common version that doesn’t have the max. Here are all the main differences between the two:

1 – Gameplay

1.1 Creation Workshop

New Feature Available: The Creation Workshop brings a completely new experience to Free Fire. In it, players will be able to create their own maps and share them with the rest of the squad. Access the Creation Workshop and start testing your imagination!

Map Creation Workshop is now available in Free Fire MAX.

Free Fire players will be able to play on maps created in the Custom Room.

There will be an interface to keep track of the most popular and recommended maps from the Creation Workshop.

1.2 Bermuda MAX

New map available: Bermuda MAX. 

On this map, you can face 4×4 battles in the Clock Tower region. With the updated graphics and addition of buildings, this map will give you a special experience to get to know Free Fire MAX.”

2 – Profile news

2.1 360º view available in the lobby

New lobby and theme: The lobby has been redesigned to leave separate space for new features in the future. 360º view available in lobby

3 – New animations

3.1 Reload the weapon

New weapon animations available. Available: Players will be introduced to a whole new universe of weapon animations in Free Fire MAX.

The Free Fire MAX animations are exactly the same duration as the Free Fire animations. The only difference is aesthetics and doesn’t affect gameplay.

3.2 Movements and interactions

Smoother and more realistic animations: Free Fire MAX comes with new visuals for running, crouching, eating mushrooms and using the armor repair kit. Now they look smoother and more realistic! Speculations also say that higher refresh rate has been optimized for the game.

4 – Sound effects

4.1 Improvements in gun sounds

Sound adjustments and improvements when firing and reloading the weapon: Sound effects improvements have been implemented in all game modes.

4.2 Echo Effect

New echo effect: Players will receive an audible feedback when shooting both inside and outside buildings. Available in the Training Island Combat Zone.

5 – New special effects

5.1 New Drone Effect

Available in Battle Royale Mode: To increase immersion, the Drone now has a blue effect when scanning areas. This drone special effect is available for all Battle Royale mode maps.

5.2 New graphics for water

Available in Remastered Bermuda, it makes the diving experience even more fun! Players will be able to see this in the water between Pochinok and Sentosa.

Optimizations and bug fixes

Improvements in footstep sounds.

As the movie release date comes closer, the developers are working on adding exciting items into the game which will promote the movie releasing in October.

A crossover between the Battle Royale Freefire and Venom will be officially launching on the 10th of October, bringing an immersive experience with exclusive content from the movie. All the fans of the movie Venom: Let there be carnage, can find hidden easter eggs and references throughout the game in the free fire just like the motion picture.

Free Fire Max is the upgraded version of Free Fire where players can expect enhanced graphics and better mechanics than its predecessor. This game was under development for a long time and launched in closed beta in few regions and recently, there were speculations that it might be released in India.

They were soon addressed by the officials as they released the pre-registration forms in India. The response to this process was incredible and later, Free Fire Max was announced to release on 28th September in India.

Garena released this game earlier today and updated their player base that it will be under maintenance break for some time. The break has not ended yet as the developers faced ‘overwhelming traffic’ and as a result, they are upgrading their service to ensure stability.

The developers also stated that the servers will open tomorrow i.e. on 29th September at 12PM IST. Players have apparently flooded their servers by downloading the game in large quantity.

Wild Rift Horizon Cup to have $500,000 prize pool

Riot Games is heavily investing in League of Legends: Wild Rift esports to build a sustainable industry in the long run. Riot recently announced their first ever global event for Wild Rift called as Horizon Cup and has now revealed further details regarding this tournament.

The initial announcement only revealed name and location of this tournament but other details were segregated in various reports. Riot Games recently released a video on their Wild Rift YouTube channel and gave an overview on this tournament.

Riot Games is hosting Wild Rift Horizon Cup in Singapore at the Suntec Centre. The tournament will begin on 13th November and teams from multiple regions will be participating in this tournament.

A total of ten teams will be qualifying for this event. Currently, Wild Rift esports is hosting several regional tournaments and top seeds from these events will ultimately qualify for the Horizon Cup.

The final day of the PMPL South Asia Season 4: Super weekend Week 1 ended with Trained to Kill leading the standings with 167 points. The team managed to take 71 kills out of the 15 matches played by them. The squad also got the highest placement points (96) which helped them to retain a lead of 23 points from the second leaderboard topper. The team took a total of 4 chicken dinners which were the highest by any team in the event.

Zeus Esports finished at the 2nd spot with 144 points including the 76 kill points. The squad was the highest kill points leader of the Super Weekend week 1. The third spot on the leaderboard was taken by Vibes Esports with 134 points.

Super weekend points will decide the League Stage overall standings of PUBG Mobile Pro League South Asia Season 4. After three weeks of play, the top 16 teams will qualify for PMPL South Asia Season 4 finals.
