Former Valorant Anti-Cheat Dev Offers Help With CSGO’s Cheating Problem

A former member of Riot Games’ anti-cheat team has reached out to a Valve developer and offered his help about the age-old problem of cheating in CSGO.

In a recent Tweet by Valve developer John McDonald, he claimed that most large scale online multiplayer games suffer from a cheating problem, but the CSGO devs are constantly working to fix them. “What active online multiplayer game doesn’t have cheating?” McDonald said.

In a reply to the above-mentioned Tweet, former Riot Games anti-cheat developer Nemanja Mulasmajic said that he was willing to help Valve tackle the cheating problem in the competitive shooter. “I believe my company can greatly assist with your cheating issue in CSGO,” he claimed in a Tweet.

Whether the two will work together still remains to be seen, but CSGO fans across the world are currently aware of the rising number of cheaters in the title and hoping for Valve to improve their anti-cheat at the earliest.

While it’s hard to say for certain whether Valorant has a better anti-cheat that CSGO, the popular belief is that the number of cheaters in the former is significantly less than that of the CSGO.

Dad Receives $20,000 Credit Card Bill After Daughter’s Spending Spree in Genshin Impact

A Singapore teen’s father was left puzzled after receiving a massive $20,000 credit card bill from his bank for 89 mysterious transactions under his name. Turns out, her 18-year-old daughter had gone on a shopping spree in Genshin Impact, an open-world RPG title by miHoYo where players can pay for a chance to win in-game characters and items using real money.

It isn’t the first time we’re seeing children spending their parents’ life savings on microtransactions, and it likely won’t be the last. These types of gacha games have received severe criticism in the past for closely resembling gambling.

According to a Straits Times report, the daughter had linked her Grab account, which was tied to Mr Lim Cheng Mong’s credit card and meant to cover her traveling expenses, with her Genshin Impact account before spending $19,810 over a six-week period on the title without her father’s consent.

The payments were made via the Apple App Store and Coda Payments, an online transaction platform that’s often used to recharge in-game currencies using money.

Despite being a free-to-play game, Genshin Impact has managed to earn over $2 billion USD since its initial release in September 2020. The title allows players to speed up their in-game progress by paying real money for a chance to redeem better characters, weapons, and various other items.

Free Fire – Top 5 Drop Locations in Alpine

Garena has pushed a new update for Free Fire and on the occasion of New Year, the player base has received a new map. This map is called as Alpine and is added to the existing pool of BR maps. Players are currently exploring the snow-laden terrain and here are the top five places that you should drop to or visit while playing Alpine in Free Fire.

Free Fire is a popular battle royale with a wide player base. In this game, each player drops with 64 others in a match of total survival. Alpine is the latest BR map and is unique in terms of terrain as well as climate.

Snowfall

Alpine is a unique map and has a wide variety of terrain. The Northwestern corner of this map is covered in snow and has a big city situated in the heart of that snow cover.

This area is called as Snowfall and is one of the most strategically built areas. It has high mountains and buildings for perfect team fights so if you are seeking to enter a heated battlefield, consider dropping at Snowfall.

Militia

Militia is a military training area with lots of one-storey buildings. This area does not have high ground but a supply vending machine is located in this area. Players can often come here to restock their guns and ammunition.

It is a good idea to drop in Militia if you are looking for some face to face fights but it is a must to visit this location after dropping as many teams in the vicinity will be arriving soon for their fresh stock of guns.

Dock

As the name suggests, it is a shipyard in the eastern part of this map. It has two large warehouses and a big ship that gives an exciting area to work around. Drop here if you looking for a relatively safe drop but the loot can be scarce here due to the random spawning location of guns and the shape of shipyard.

Stadium

This is the southernmost city on the map with an ample amount of equipment supply. As the area is quite big, this makes for a good location to drop and fight instantly while having good enough guns in your hand. As the name says, there is a large stadium in the vicinity but it does not aid in combat as players are open targets in such a large field.

Railroad

Railroad is the last location in this list. This area is not special as it only has a big railway station and three railway routes with rails on it. Players need to be vigilant while looting in this area as most of the loot spawns in open areas.

Krafton Will Permanently Ban Mobile Devices of Cheaters in BGMI

Every game be it a PC, Console or a mobile generic has its own base of cheaters who always tend to spoil the integrity of the former. Be it Counter-Strike or any other Battle Royale, you may come across a cheat in every 2 out of your 5 games.

It really is a mood breaker to see your hard-earned Matchmaking Rating go down the drain to cheaters. So is the case with Battlegrounds Mobile India who lately has been a vigilante towards their player base, eliminating cheaters by handing a permanent ban.

In a bid to further thwart every cheater’s actions, Krafton has decided to deploy hardware bans to those who use illegal software to gain an upper hand to gain an unfair advantage over the rest.

Hardware bans are almost impossible to bypass and it’s the only way out to keep the hackers on the bay. Should a player be handed a hardware ban, he/she won’t be able to create a new account and get back to the game given the type of ban to being this effective.

To everyone’s surprise, this new firmware has already been deployed by Krafton from December 24 onwards as the parent company still awaits to come across any kind of hardware ban reported on its forum.

You can find out the developer notes below :

Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) have indeed been successful in monitoring a plethora of user accounts that have been reported for functioning in an illegal way within the game which was further convicted and banned in the wake of the former.

According to the latest report, the developers of the free to play game banned nearly one lakh accounts in a week’s time frame, between December 13 and December 19.

In addition, the list of these convicted accounts were also published by the team at Krafton and are currently headed to a life-time ban which is supposed to be administered shortly. This follows the previous ban wave which saw over 142,000 BGMI accounts getting blacklisted between December 6 and December 12.

BGMI on its website addressed the community with an open post which stated around 99,583 accounts were permanently banned from Dec 13 ~ Dec 19 followed by the list of the same which was made public by Krafton.
