VALORANT : All you need to know about Fade, developer Q&A inside

With a new Valorant agent promised in Act 3 Episode 4,  a plethora of leaks previously suggested that the next new face would be an initiator, scaling up to the abilities of Sova and Cypher, derived from the hints of their abilities and fighting style.

Neon was the last agent to drop and created quite a ruckus with its explosive fighting style and abilities, which suggests that the new agent will be somewhat far from it.

Just like Sova tracking enemies with his recon and Cypher with his trapwires, players would feel a whole lot more intimate upon hunting down enemies with Fade, the currently dubbed persona of an Initiator.

As we all can decipher, no other agent than Sova, Cypher or KAY/O would help us hunt for intel and with the addition of Fade to the roster would indeed shake up the whole meta if you fall into the role of an initiator.

In an exclusive Q&A with Game designer, Mr Nicholas Smith, we learnt about what led the team to idealize Fade during the agent’s development.

“The intent is to create a competitor to Sova that plays out differently. Fade brings recon to a personal level, more potent in a localized area (doesn’t have mapwide potential like Sova). We wanted to keep the player close to the action and always in-body. So that meant no posessible utility or different states of being (i.e. Drone/Wolf/Astral Form) Also wanted to have a recon character that was less reliant on line-ups.”

Fade has finally been revealed by Riot Games and will join the ranks of Valorant from April 27th onwards. Here are the list of her abilities which do already headline her prominence over other agents.

Valorant Fade Abilities

Haunt (E)

● EQUIP a nightmarish entity. FIRE to throw the orb which will plummet to the ground after a set amount of time. Upon hitting the ground, the orb will turn into a nightmarish entity that will reveal the location of enemies caught in its line of sight. Enemies can destroy this entity. RE-USE the ability to drop the projectile early in-flight.

Haunt resembles Sova’s Recon Bolt or vaguely KAY/O’s Zero/Point. In short, Fade’s Haunt will help us to reveal enemies beyond our hindsight.

Seize (Q)

● EQUIP an orb of nightmare ink. FIRE to throw the orb which will plummet to the ground after a set amount of time. Upon hitting the ground, the ink will explode and create a zone in which enemies who are caught in it cannot escape the zone by normal means. RE-USE the ability to drop the projectile early in-flight

Seize would work just like Sage’s slow orb. Once triggered it would hold up enemies for a certain period which would make them vulnerable until they could make the run for their lives.

Prowler (C)

● EQUIP a Prowler. FIRE will send the Prowler out, causing it to travel in a straight line. The Prowler will lock onto any enemies or trails in their frontal vision cone and chase them, nearsighted them if it reaches them. HOLD the FIRE button to steer the Prowler in the direction of your crosshair.

The Prowler can track enemies once triggered while it can act as Raze’s Boom Bot.

Nightfall (X)

● EQUIP the power of Fear. FIRE to send out a wave of nightmare energy that can traverse walls. The energy creates a trail to the opponent as well as deafens and decays them.

The Nightfall is the ultimate of Fade which would lead us to the enemy and decay them over time.

“From an ability perspective, we took inspiration from Camille’s ultimate from League of Legends for Seize (Q) as well as the development naming of the character, “BountyHunter.” Seize was the sort of “bola strike” or gotcha moment to us when you’ve cornered the prey and want to ensure they can’t escape. I think it can be used in a multitude of ways, but producing a trail, and seeing where the enemy has run and then capture them is the dream play,” continued Mr Nicholas.

Fade will be a part of the upcoming Valorant patch 4.08 and will go live on April 27, 2022.

Team Soul backs out from BGMI Lan event hosted by Nodwin Gaming and Loco

Team Soul, one of the fan favourite BGMI rosters in India, has withdrawn from the upcoming BGMI LAN event called All Stars Invitational. The reason for backing out of this tournament is because their star player Soul Goblin was struck with illness while travelling for this event.

All Stars Invitational is the first LAN esports event hosted in India after a long time that has two titles namely BGMI and Asphalt. Sixteen invited teams are currently gathering in Delhi as the competition was set to start tomorrow.

Team Soul was apparently one of the invited teams and their players were set to meet in Delhi NCR. While travelling, Harsh ‘Goblin’ Paudwal apparently fell sick and Mortal revealed that Team Soul will be backing out of this event due to medical reasons.

Soul Mortal recently uploaded a story and a snippet is attached below. According to that, Goblin will not be participating in the upcoming event and subsequently, Team Soul has decided to step down. They will be playing in the next event after the health issues are treated.

Nodwin Gaming and Loco has hosted All Stars Invitational to bring back the beloved LAN competition back in India and it has a cumulative prize pool of ₹55 Lakhs. This specific event will not have any audience due to concerns of COVID-19.

As Team Soul has now dropped out of Nodwin All Stars Invitational, their slot might be given to any other invited team. Such details are not officially revealed by the concerned parties.

Global Esports x TEC Drama Explained

That was indeed quite a spicy weekend, won’t lie at all. Cloud9 CS:GO picking up ex-Gambit, Astralis almost facing elimination and Bad News Eagles marching on to their first ever Counter Strike major.

Well, we can’t draw curtains over just that, right? There is always something which scratches the part, something not self-explanatory but open to either interpretations, arguments or worthy enough to be ignored.

While we closing for the day, a tweet from Ishaan “captainarya” Arya, co-founder of TheEsportsClub did spark a controversy between the management of Global Esports and itself TEC over GE withdrawing from a month-long tournament/event hosted by the said Tournament Organizer.

Main context : Global Esports decided to withdraw from one of TEC’s tournaments following their 0-3 loss at the hands of Enigma.

A contradictory statement was further posted by Dr Rushindra Sinha, CEO of Global Esports where he called out Arya to be highly unprofessional while tweeting out such statements which may have been against the players of Global Esports who may have withdrawn in a bid to reboot their mental structures. This was backed by Bhavin “HellRangeR” Kotwani, IGL of GE who further stated that the team is reorganizing under a new coach and that’s one among the reasons for his team to set up shop.

Arya then posted a lacklustre apology which said he never meant to hurt the sentiments of any individual at Global Esports or the organization itself as it was just a bad joke to be forgotten about.

That’s not how fairy tales end right? Vaguely constructed apologies are barely a way out when there’s Carnage already let out to be.

Then erupted a thread from Mr Rushindra on his Twitter handle which indeed jelled up all the pieces together to what exactly did happen between him and TheEsportsClub so as to expunge any misconceptions if there were created or determined.

Mr Rushindra’s tweet thread sheds light upon what exactly happened and how strings are usually meant to be pulled if there lies a point of threshold, past which, everything gets intolerant.

According to Mr Rushindra, Arya’s trigger point was none other than Global Esport’s decision to pull out of the month long TEC event which was done to allow players, sort their personal and professional lifestyles before they embark on what lies ahead of them.

Player breaks do help gamers and other staff to eliminate burn-outs and gear up for their next battles especially when you hop back and forth on a event train.

This was not the only time Arya did this, having players and organizations on his crosshairs but he has done the same, a plethora of other instances.

With that being already said, a lacklustre aplogy won’t help any individual escape this wildfire as Arya was yet again called for his ‘meh’ kind of apology.

Towards the end of the thread, Mr Rushindra did announce that, will TEC be tied to the duties of Ishaan Arya, Global Esports will no longer be a part of TEC powered event, be it if TEC would ever represent the estemeed Valorant Champions Tour circuit as one of their future projects.

COD Mobile: How to unlock Contact Grenade

Activision will be releasing the new season of COD Mobile with their next update that is scheduled on 27th April. The next season 4 is called as Wild Dogs and will have a ton of new modes, equipment and battle pass. One of the additions to armory is in the form of Contact Grenade. Here is how you can unlock it.

Contact Grenade is very similar to sticky grenades that are usually seen in games like PUBG. Players can use this equipment to target players or certain areas and the Contact Grenade will blast as soon as touching any kind of surface.

This grenade has a comparatively smaller radius of blast because of its ability to detonate instantaneously. Players can also carry a maximum of one Contact grenade at a time.

HOW TO UNLOCK CONTACT GRENADE IN COD MOBILE SEASON 4

It is very easy to unlock contact grenade in COD Mobile as players would need to complete levels in battle pass to unlock it.

One has to level up their battle pass to tier 14 to unlock the Contact Grenade. Those who tend to purchase the elite pass will get it almost instantaneously after completing a level or two but others will have to complete missions for a few days to unlock it.

Contact Grenade is a very interesting addition to COD Mobile and players can use them to guard some chokepoints as well as retreat instantly by killing enemies tailing them.

Is Bangalore Leaving Apex Legends?

0

Apex Legends‘ history has been thoroughly crafted, with each Legend having its own backstory and motives for being in the game. We’ve just been exposed to some new characters who are intimately related to previous Legends. One of them is Maggie, who was an old buddy of Fuse before he decided to attend the game. Here’s all we know about Bangalore’s departure from Apex Legends.

The new season is coming soon and some teasers have been provided, with one of them appearing in-game while the Control LTM was still active. It displayed the new Legend’s outline as well as the caption, “The wait is over, he’s here!”

Other teasers for the next Apex Legends season have been issued on the official Apex Legends Twitter account, with the most recent one hinting at Bangalore’s departure from the game. There was a Story Event for Bangalore in which she interacted with Wraith (Renee), who informed her that her brother Jackson had died. Bangalore came to the game to find out what had happened to her brother, and now that she purportedly has an explanation, she wants to return home to her family. Revenant also offers to accompany her because his source code is also reported as being on the same planet, and because the voyage is long, it will be a one-way trip.

According to the graphic, Bangalore will exit the game and will no longer be a playable character. It doesn’t appear that Respawn will remove a Legend completely from the game because players prefer to invest in buying new Skins, Emotes, and so on or have spent their Heirloom Shards on earning her Heirloom, thus it seems highly unlikely that they will remove her.

Cloud9 CSGO returns with signing of ex-Gambit roster

After a year of withdrawing from Valve’s first person tactical shooter, North American giants Cloud9 return back to Counter Strike : Global Offensive with the signing of ex-Gambit players around Vladislav “nafany” Gorshkov and co who briefly played under the banner of “Players” in the past month.

Cloud9 who were last seen fielding their Colossus project are back after a year of sabbatical, this time with a CIS line-up featuring Abay “Hobbit” Khassenov, Dmitrii “sh1ro” Sokolov, Sergei “Ax1Le” Rykhtorov, Vladislav “nafany” Gorshkov and Timofei “interz” Iakushin.

A series of unfortunate events had indeed forced Gambit to release and force these players to play under a new banner dubbed as “Players” following the Russian invasion over Ukraine and other political tensions leading up around.

“This is an exciting time for Counter Strike, with LAN events returning we’re seeing incredible interest amongst fans. I would definitely say the resurgence is well under way.” –  Jack Etienne, Co-Founder and CEO of Cloud9.

The Los-Angeles based organization had previously parted ways with their players from the European Colossus project led by Alex “ALEX” McMeekin, an initiative kickstarted by Henry “HenryG” Greer and Aleksandar “kassad” Trifunović before halting their further development into the scene citing financial hiccups and inability to locate the team to the United States due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The community has indeed been familiar with nafany and co’s achievements throughout the online era revolving around the period between 2020-21 with a plethora of championships at S-tier events that too when Gambit Youngsters were promoted to the main lineup of the organization.

Cloud9 sign ex-Gambit (now Players) after just 3 days of having secured a Legends spot at the forthcoming PGL Antwerp Major 2022 as the North American side would now travel to Belgium with a new-look CS:GO roster featuring a set of similar and valuable faces in the league.

Cloud9 CSGO Roster:

  • Vladislav “nafany” Gorshkov
  • Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov
  • Sergey “Ax1Le” Rykhtorov
  • Timofey “interz” Yakushin
  • Abay “HObbit” Khasenov
