Earlier, it was revealed that India will get one more slot for PMWI apart from the BMPS winning slot and BGMI Showdown is the event added unplanned to the 2022 esports calendar to fulfill this requirement.

PMWI 2022 stands for PUBG Mobile World Invitational and this is the biggest PUBG Mobile tournament of the year. This event is divided into two parts with a main event and an “Afterparty” event. Guild and XSET eliminated from Valorant Masters Copenhagen

The third day of the Valorant Champions Tour Masters Copenhagen Knockout Stage had two elimination games and champions qualification on the line. The teams playing were the losers of the opening games.

The teams playing were FunPlus Phoenix, Guild Esports, Leviatan and XSET. FPX lost to Fnatic in their opening game, Guild lost to Paper Rex, while XSET and Leviatan lost to Optic Gaming and DRX, respectively.

The Summary of VCT Masters Copenhagen Knockout stage day 3 is as follows:

  • Game 1: Guild Esports 1-2 FunPlus Phoenix
  • Game 2: Leviatan 2-1 XSET

Game 1: Guild Esports 1-2 FunPlus Phoenix.

The game was very crucial for both teams for two reasons. Firstly, whoever loses will be knocked out of the tournament. Secondly, If Guild loses the match, they would be out for Valorant Champions contention.

The game started on FPX’s Ascent with Guild on defence and began with winning two rounds, But FPX quickly answered back by winning five rounds consecutively, and the back and forth continued with FPX winning the half 7-5.

The second half started in FPX’s favour with them winning three rounds in a row, but Guild started coming back, winning five rounds, but FPX stopped the Guild train to win the map 13-11 in the last round on the backs of Suygetsu’s 4k.

Guild’s Breeze was anti-climatic, with FPX getting rolled over by Guild esports, and Guild won the first map without dropping a round.

The second half had FPX showing up, but Guild stopped the dreams before they even started closing the game 13-3.

Bind, the decider started with FPX on defence, completely shutting down any attack attempts made by Guild Esports. With Guild only winning three rounds to lose the half 3-9.

The second half was no different than the first, with FPX completely tearing through Guild’s defence and winning the map 13-4 and the game 2-1.

With the elimination, Guild has lost their chance to qualify for the Valorant Champions and would have to go through LCQ. FPX and Fnatic become the two teams to become the EMEA representative for Valorant Champions.

Game 2: Leviatan 2-1 XSET

The game was a must-win for both teams, and if Leviatan won, they would become the LATAM representative at Valorant Champions.

XSET’s Split started with them winning the first half with absolute domination, with Leviatan only managing to scrape four rounds out of the twelve.

The second half started with Leviatan winning four rounds of the first five, and it seemed they’d come back, but XSET managed to stop the bleeding by closing the game 13-9.

Leviatan, on their map pick of Ascent, started strong by winning the first two rounds with ease but had difficulty converting later, with XSET defending the site with utmost confidence limiting Leviatan to only four rounds in the first half.

With Leviatan on defence, they replicated what XSET did on the back of Tacolillas chamber and Melser’s clutches to equalise the game in regulation and force overtime.

The overtime started with teams exchanging the defence halves, but Leviatan won their attack OT and held off XSET pretty well to close out the game 15-13, forcing the third map.

https://twitter.com/ValorantEsports/status/1548408101555957762
The decider, Haven, started in Leviatan’s favour with them defending sites with absolute perfection, limiting XSET to only three rounds in half, winning the half 9-3.

XSET managed to answer back in the second back, thoroughly read all the Leviatan’s attack attempts and reached match point before the last round, but in the last round, Leviatan pulled

off a 3v5 clutch to draw the game 12-12.

The overtime had both teams exchanging the defence half of the OT. With 14-14 as the score, Leviatan won the defensive half to reach map point and closed the game 16-14 to win the series 2-1.

With this, Leviatan has cemented its place as the LATAM representative for Valorant Champions. XSET have qualified for Valorant Champions but are eliminated from VCT Masters Copenhagen.

Leviatan and FPX both would play on the 22nd.

All the Teams qualified for Valorant Champions

0

With the conclusion of the Valorant Champions Tour Masters Copenhagen Knockouts Lower Bracket 1 matches, we have finally found all the regional circuit point representatives for the upcoming Valorant Champions 2022.

The biggest Valorant Tournament of the year would follow the same format it did last year, but this time there’d be 16 teams, out of which ten would qualify directly through circuit points.

The rest of the six slots would be filled with regional LCQs held across five regions: North America, South America, EMEA, East Asia and the Asia Pacific.

The South American LCQ would have two slots, while the rest would only get one. The Asian Region is divided into East Asia, i.e. China, Korea and Japan and the Asia Pacific, the rest of the Asian countries.

Before the VCT Masters Copenhagen, only four teams, viz. Optic Gaming, DRX, Paper Rex and XERXIA had qualified for the Valorant Champions, but today, we got all the ten directly qualified teams for Valorant Champions.

Let’s look at the teams region-wise.

Asia Pacific:

Paper Rex:

The Kings of Asia Pacific, Paper Rex, have been a constant force in Asia. With the strong performance in the VCT Masters Reykjavik and again qualifying for the VCT Masters Copenhagen as the top seed, they have cemented their position at Valorant Champions.

Xerxia Esports:

Xerxia is the only team that matches Paper Rex’s success in Asia with being the second seed for the international tournament and upsetting strong teams like Optic Gaming and FPX. Xerxia is the second APAC representative at Valorant Champions.

Brazil:

LOUD:

LOUD has been the only other team who have completely dominated their

regional scene to represent their region at Valorant Champions. They cemented themselves with the second place finish at Reykjavik and qualification for Copenhagen.

EMEA:

Fnatic:

The Boaster-led Fnatic has been a strong EMEA team. With them absolutely dominating their EMEA peers in the current split, it was no surprise they are the EMEA representatives at Valorant Champions.

FunPlus Phoenix:

FPX were the top team in the Stage 1 VCT EMEA Challengers but had to miss out on VCT Masters Reykjavik. Still, they managed to repeat their feat at Stage 2 VCT EMEA Challengers and, through a gruelling group stage, qualified for VCT Masters Copenhagen Knockout stage. Today they eliminated Guild to cement their position as the EMEA representatives at Valorant Champions.

Japan:

ZETA Division:

With their deep run at VCT Masters Reykjavik and Northeption missing out on the Knockout stage of Copenhagen, the ZETA division secured the Japan representation at Valorant. Champions.

Korea:

DRX:

Korea Valorant is synonymous with DRX today with its absolute dominance in the regional scene, and DRX is the Korean representative at Valorant Champions.

LATAM:

Leviatan:

Leviatan came in as the underdogs and surprised everyone at Stage 2 VCT LATAM Challengers by beating KRU to become the top seed from LATAM. Since KRU had a disappointing finish at the Valorant Masters Copenhagen, Leviatan became the LATAM representative at Valorant Champions with today’s victory.

North America:

Optic Gaming:

Optic Gaming is a force in the NA scene right now. With the winners of VCT Masters Reykjavik, they had already cemented their position as the NA representative long ago.

XSET:

XSET clenched the second NA Spot by winning the stage 2 VCT NA challengers and coming to Copenhagen as the NA top seed to beat the Guard, who had a disappointing run in Stage 2 VCT NA Challengers.

The tournament would be held in Istanbul, Turkey, and the rest of the teams would go through LCQs starting next month. The event would likely feature a live audience and would be fun.

G2 Esports bench Aleksib

G2 Esports has allowed Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen to further explore his options for the rest of the 2022 competitive season, the 25-year-old player announced today on his Twitter handle.

Having joined G2 Esports in January as a part of the swap deal which saw the former and OG Esports trade Aleksib and Nemanja “nexa” Isaković. Aleskib was a part of G2 Esports’ roster overhaul which saw the team add Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov from Natus Vincere Junior to replace François “AMANEK” Delaunay.

The announcement comes after G2’s early exit from the group stage of the ongoing IEM Cologne 2022 where they were handed defeat at the hands of the Ninjas in Pyjamas.
