Destiny 2 Jade Rabbit disabled due to perk glitch

Destiny 2 Jade Rabbit

Bungie has officially stated that it will disable the Jade Rabbit exotic scout weapon, giving players a cause to jump into some Destiny 2 PvP action. This weapon has been removed from the game, and we’ve got the details on why.

There has been “discovered an issue with the Jade Rabbit exotic scout rifle,” the Bungie Help Twitter account said, adding that the weapon has been “temporarily disabled until a remedy can be developed.”

It now appears that the weapon’s exotic perk was the true reason for its in-game disablement. The Fate of All Fools, an exotic perk of the Jade Rabbit, would persist throughout weapon swaps once equipped.

The Fate of All Fools is an exotic perk that increases damage done by chained body shots and restores ammunition, so it’s easy to see how this could be exploitable.

Of course, since this exotic trait was limited to the fairly underpowered Jade Rabbit, you had to land your shots consecutively to really utilize its benefits.

Combining this with a fast-firing weapon like the Destiny 2 Manticore or Revision Zero will lead to a disastrous overpower. One Destiny 2 content creator’s explanation of why the weapon’s removal was necessary shows why this issue had to be addressed as quickly as possible.

However, a patch will be released on December 13 at 9:00 PST, 12:00 EST, and 17:00 GMT. Therefore, it is possible, though not guaranteed, that the Jade Rabbit will return around that time.

You’ll have to wait to receive the Jade Rabbit again if you’re utilizing the optimal Destiny 2 Hunter, Warlock, or Titan build.
