BGMI Ban: NGO ‘Prahar’ thanks Indian Govt for Game Ban

An NGO named ‘Prahar’ has expressed their gratitude towards the Indian government and MeitY for banning BGMI in the country. They recently posted a video thanking the government for their recent move of banning the popular BR game.

Prahar was actively working towards banning BGMI in India. They had urged the government to take this move in March 2022. According to them, BGMI should have been included in the list of previously banned applications.

NGO Prahar Thankls Indian Govt For Banning BGMI

This issue was raised once again in the monsoon parliamentary session. This time, the expectancy of BGMI and its involvement in a homicide case were mentioned.

Yesterday, BGMI was removed from Google Play and Apple App Store and according to our reports, BGMI was banned in the country. Krafton and government authorities were going to conduct a meeting today and apparently, it has not been fruitful.

BGMI ban confirmed today as MeitY has banned this app under Section 69A of IT act.

‘Prahar’ mentioned that BGMI was no different than PUBG and Tencent was still controlling the app in the background.

The origin of the popular Fnatic Manager here meme

Games of the first-person shooter genre that require continual attention from a developer include Valorant and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Since the stakes in professional esports are so high, it is essential that these two games remain bug-free.

In order to accomplish this, gamers document and share game-breaking bugs in the hopes that developers may come across them. The comment sections of viral bugs are typically overrun with memes that read “Fnatic manager here,” which many Valorant players find to be unclear.

What does the Fnatic manager here meme mean? What exactly does the meme “Fnatic manager here” mean? Let us answer those questions.

In the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO) community, making fun of game-breaking exploits and techniques is done using the catchphrase “Fnatic Manager Here, Please Delete This.” It has also grown commonplace in Valorant, but a smaller percentage of players in that game are familiar with its history.

After the notorious Olofboost incident occurred between Fnatic and Team LDLC during a match at Dreamhack Winter 2014, the meme quickly spread over the internet. That boost was found to be unlawful after the fact, which ultimately resulted in Fnatic suffering a defeat.

Valve has now installed a commemorative plaque at the location of the infamous event. The monument serves as a reminder to players not to climb the barriers. Since that time, it has developed into an important turning point in the history of CSGO.

Reddit user Davit “Blotecsgo” Ekdhal claims that he had posted the original boost bug two weeks before the game was actually played. However, in order to comply with the request of a member of Team Fnatic, he had to make the video private.

Although he was unable to provide any evidence to support his claim, he did come forward with a thread shortly after the flaw was exploited on November 28 during the quarterfinal. The sole proof is the date that the video was originally uploaded to YouTube.

I and my other friends wanted it up. But my friend was so adamant about removing it and was scared that flusha would hate him or something. So I just cba about the drama and then unlisted the video until they used it.

Blotecsgo

The entire thing might seem odd to you, but the aftermath of the event gave rise to a famous meme that is still current even after seven years have passed.

CSGO Hits Biggest VAC Ban Wave Of 2022

The problem of cheating is not a new thing in CSGO. In fact, cheaters and hackers have continued to haunt the player base of CSGO since the earliest stages of the title’s release back in 2012.

And as we near the tenth anniversary of the evergreen competitive shooter by Valve, the issue still continues to persist in the community.

However, it seems that the developers are taking some serious steps to tackle this, as recent reports suggest that CSGO just witnessed its biggest ban wave so far in 2022.

As per statistics from ConVars, Valve has banned over seven thousand CSGO accounts within the span of three days between July 14 and 17.

CSGO VAC BAN WAVE JULY 2022

The CSGO ban wave peaked on July 16th, when the game saw over 4,000 accounts being banned for cheating. Noticeably, almost all the bans imposed during the massive CSGO ban wave were game bans, while the number of VAC bans didn’t deviate much from their prior values.

For Reference, the number of game bans per day is usually around 100-250, while roughly 200-300 accounts get VAC banned each day.

Valve hasn’t made a comment regarding the July 2022 CSGO ban wave as of yet. However, fans of the title have expressed their satisfaction across social media forums at such a large number of cheaters being banned from CSGO in such a short span of time.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is a 5v5 competitive shooter that was developed and published by Valve in 2012. The title is currently available to play on PC for free and can be downloaded exclusively from Steam.

The players who have the game installed on their devices will not be able to buy any items, skins, or crates from the game. It looks like a complete shutdown of the game with these things happening in a short span of time.

Cannot download the Apk version from the Official Website

Players who cannot download the game through Play Store and App Store, often install the game through the apk files. The Apk files are available to download from the official Battlegrounds Mobile India website. Amid the game ban, the option to download the apk version is removed from the website.

India’s Ministry banned BGMI under Section 69A of Information & Technology Act

0

Battlegrounds Mobile India, the largest competitive mobile game in India, has been officially delisted from widely used Google Play Store and Apple App Store. As per new reports, the Indian government has banned BGMI by invoking Section 69A of the IT Act.

A similar action was taken against PUBG Mobile before the game was banned in India where data protection and privacy were seen as subjects of concern. Google & Krafton yesterday released their statements on our news story.

According to Reuters, Indian Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) issued orders under Section 69 (A) of the Information Technology Act, 2000 to take down BGMI.

TalkEsport, just last evening had reported that the influence of China over PUBG Mobile & BGMI combined could be the reason of the recent ban which saw millions of gamers dissappointed.

What is Section 69 (A) IT Act in India?

  • It confers on the Central and State governments the power to issue directions “to intercept, monitor or decrypt any information generated, transmitted, received or stored in any computer resource”.
  • The grounds on which these powers may be exercised are:
    • In the interest of the sovereignty or integrity of India, defence of India, the security of the state.
    • Friendly relations with foreign states.
    • Public order, or for preventing incitement to the commission of any cognizable offence relating to these.
    • For investigating any offence.

The law reads:

69A. Power to issue directions for blocking for public access of any information through any computer resource

(1) Where the Central Government or any of its officer specially authorised by it in this behalf is satisfied that it is necessary or expedient so to do, in the interest of sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of the State, friendly relations with foreign States or public order or for preventing incitement to the commission of any cognizable offence relating to above, it may subject to the provisions of sub-section (2), for reasons to be recorded in writing, by order, direct any agency of the Government or intermediary to block for access by the public or cause to be blocked for access by the public any information generated, transmitted, received, stored or hosted in any computer resource.

(2) The procedure and safeguards subject to which such blocking for access by the public may be carried out; shall be such as may be prescribed.

(3) The intermediary who fails to comply with the direction issued under sub-section (1) shall be punished with an imprisonment for a term which may extend to seven year and also be liable to fine.

A Google spokesperson responded on this matter, as per the News18 report. The statement is as follows:

“On receipt of the order, following the established process, we have notified the affected developer and have blocked access to the app that remained available on the Play Store in India.”

– Google

This statement indicates that the developers, Krafton in this case, were intimated about this ban but the statement made by Krafton suggests that they will be discussing this issue with the respective officials. Their statement is as follows:

“We are clarifying how BGMI was removed from Google Play store and the App store and will let you know once we get specific information.”

– Krafton

As per our sources, the Krafton officials will be hosting a meeting with Ministry of Electronics, Information & Technology and several other government officials regarding this ban order.

The invoking of Section 69A is in line with our report and contrary to some stories of esports organizations, calling this ban a ‘rumour’. It is pertinent to note that there were several NGOs in India who had in the past, requested the government to put a ban on Battlegrounds Mobile India.

As per our sources in the Government, the ban will last longer than expected by the community. And that’ll be bad news for everyone! 🙁

BGMI Banned In India: 5 Things We Know

BGMI was the most grossing mobile BR title in the country but according to our sources, the game has been banned in the country. There are several things at play when the ban order is issued but here are the five things we know about BGMI ban in the country.

Why Was BGMI Banned In India?

Concern over China’s role in data storage

One of the main reason of the government banning BGMI after blocking PUBG Mobile two years ago is the data privacy concerns and the links with China. PUBG Mobile was initially banned when the officials were concerned about the data of millions of active players from India.

As a result, Krafton severed its ties with Tencent at the time and developed a new game called BGMI, specifically for India. Apparently, this move was not enough as data privacy concerns have are starting to linger yet again.

BGMI Ban was not sudden; officials were indulged in talks

As per a source close to TalkEsport, the ban order imposed on BGMI was not a sudden action taken by Indian govt. as the responsible officials were already in talks with the authorities on both sides. This action was taken after issuing warnings on the ban. The discussion was going on for a few weeks.

Tournament Organizers were asked to keep preparations of events on hold

A ton of BGMI events, some major ones, are lined up in the coming days but as per our source, the tournament organizers were intimated about this order and were asked to stop the preparations of their event in case some action is taken.

The future of big LAN events that would be held in the next few days remain uncertain at this point.

App got removed from the stores around 7 PM

The main supply of BGMI to the audience takes place via official app stores and Indian govt. had asked them to unlist BGMI from their respective stores. According to a statement made by Google, the responsible authorities gave an order to remove the application and concerned developer, Krafton in this case, was informed about this matter as well.

BGMI Ban: Krafton to meet Indian Government Tomorrow – Sources

The popular battle royale game, Battlegrounds Mobile India, is officially banned in India. According to the government official sources close to TalkEsport, BGMI has been banned and Krafton officials will hold a meeting with MeitY tomorrow over this issue. The banishment has been issued over data migration concerns related to the game and its Chinese connections.

BGMI Banned in India

According to our source, Battlegrounds Mobile India is banned in India over the same concerns that were listed while banning PUBG Mobile. The main concern over this banhammer is the data migration issue and its connections with China.

Recently, PUBG Mobile was the part of monsoon parliamentary session where multiple questions were raised about the replica applications surfacing in India that were previously banned by the MeitY.

One of the questions raised in this session was based on media reports about a boy killing his mother over a PUBG Mobile match. This horrific incident led to National Commission for Protection of Child Rights to write a letter to MeitY seeking explanation of how PUBG Mobile is available for minors despite the game being banned in the country.

Following this ban order, Krafton officials have started to take action and will be meeting with MeitY and other government officials tomorrow to resolve this issue.

Why was BGMI removed from Google Play Store?

BGMI was seen as the replacement of PUBG Mobile in India as Krafton broke its ties with Tencent to launch a local version of this game. BGMI is currently the top grossing game in India but it was abruptly removed from the Google Play Store.

BGMI was unlisted from the official app stores a few hours ago and its reason was not officially cited anywhere. The apparent reason for this removal is the ban order imposed by Indian govt. which mandates all the regulating bodies to follow it and remove the access to BGMI.

What is next for BGMI?

BGMI is now banned in India and a similar scenario that was followed after PUBG Mobile ban could be seen in the country. Indian player base now has a replacement in the form of PUBG: New State.
