Riot to pay stipends up to $1.5 million to the partnered Valorant teams

0

Back in June of 2022, Riot Gaming unveiled its plan for Valorant esports in 2023. It also introduced the three premier leagues: Americas, Europe, and Asia. Riot invited organizations to send applications for partnership in the League for the same premier leagues.

The partnership program or “Franchising” would be a process where Riot will select ten teams for the leagues and help them to nurture a system where teams and Valorant Esports will flourish and grow.

These organizations will be long-time partners with Riot for Valorant and will likely receive stipends from Riot to help them run the teams and compete at the highest level.

As Reported by Dexerto, these Stipends could range anywhere from 600k to 1.5m, where the teams in Asia are likely to receive less as the operation cost in Asia is lesser than in Europe and the Americas, and the highest this number can go is 1.5 million dollars annually.

What is Riot’s plan for Valorant Esports in 2023?

The Valorant Esports 2023 can be summarized as follows:

  • Three Premier level leagues for World’s top team viz. Americas, Europe, and Asia
  • Partnership program for Organizations to be part of the Premier leagues, which Riot would shortlist.
  • Shortlisted teams to get an incentive to develop a good ecosystem for talent.
  • Consistent and Frequent Inter-Regional and Global tournaments
  • Additional Regional Leagues and Expansion of Current VCT system
  • A new in-game mode where players and team can showcase their talents to get into the Regional Leagues

What exactly is the partnership program?

Similar to the League of legends LCQ, LCK, etc., the Valorant League will be a high-level weekly competition between the partnered teams, eventually culminating in a Global tournament.

As mentioned by Riot, “For 2023, we will select partner teams across our three international leagues who have a track record of building great esports experiences, developing players, and can meaningfully contribute to the long-term growth of VALORANT esports.”

These 8-10 teams per region will compete weekly and, like Overwatch league or LOL leagues, will consummate in Finals. The selection process has already attracted applications from multiple organizations, and the teams are expected to be announced soon.

Sentinels VCT NA LCQ Run Comes to an End

Going into the VCT NA LCQ, Sentinels did not look as strong, and after adding Shroud in as the fifth member, many pundits did not see Sentinels as the contenders for winning the NA LCQ.

The Roster with Shahzam, Dapr, Tenz, Shroud, and Zellsis seem to be in good form as they started the series with a loss against the Guard in the opening match. The game was the most watched Valorant game, amassing more than 600k viewership on Twitch alone.

Now in the lower bracket, Sentinels faced the ex-Luminosity Roster, where the team displayed their potential, defeating the team 2-0. The outstanding performance from Shroud gave everyone a future where Sentinels will be the LCQ winners.

Yesterday, Facing the 100 Thieves in the Lower Bracket Quarterfinals, Sentinels moved away from their comfort pick of Breeze and chose to play Fracture.

The pick seemed to be working against them as in the first half. They had a hard time finding anything and lost half as attackers. But come the defense half, they turned everything around, Tying the game after a 9-12 deficit to force overtime.

In overtime, after exchanging attack and defense halves, Tenz and Co. managed to secure their attacking half and win the game in the defensive half, starting the series with a 1-0 lead.

The second map, Breeze, was one-sided, with both teams exchanging rounds and trying to do each other out, but Derrek clutching 100 Thieves, managed to edge out Sentinels, winning the map 13-7, forcing the third and final map of the series.

Haven started with 100 Thieves on the attack, and with Asuna leading the charge on Raze, they completely tore apart Sentinels’ defense to win the half 8-4.

The Sentinels attacking half displayed how good they can be when, despite losing the first two rounds, they managed to force a scoreline of 12-11 in the last round, but a mistimed play and the stronghold from Derrek on the A-site lost them the round.

With the loss, Sentinels lost the final map 11-13 and the series 1-2, and their dream LCQ run ended. Despite amazing performances, Sentinels could not close the games, and their 2022 season ended with a loss.

Valorant maybe coming to consoles, according to the latest update

0

The well-known Valorant data miner and leaker known as “Shiick” has uncovered some compelling evidence that points to the debut of the popular first-person shooter game on consoles.

After the most recent patch update for Valorant 5.03, Shiick reportedly found multiple picture icons of the controller/gamepad control bindings for PlayStation and Xbox within the game files themselves. This information was disclosed in his most recent tweet.

Valorant Coming To Console:

Many members of the community were taken aback by the speculation and theory because Valorant is a tactical shooter game designed specifically for the audience of CS: GO on the personal computer and would have a very different style of gameplay if features such as crossplay were made available between these different platforms.

Others feel that the files may be tied to the coming of formal controller support on the already existing PC platform, despite the fact that the majority of people are leaning toward the hypothesis that a new console is being developed.

The game does not yet have gamepad support, hence the only way to play with a controller is to make use of third-party software such as InputMapper or REWASD, both of which are unreliable and have the potential to cause input latency.

As was indicated before, Shiick has uncovered a number of graphical representations of controller bindings for various Xbox and PlayStation accessories

These are separate picture files that have been placed under a directory of files called “Gamepad.” The directory also has two other child files that are entitled “XboxOne” and “PlayStation4”, respectively.

It is important to keep in mind that these are only rumors or theories, and that we should never draw any conclusions about anything until we have received official confirmation of it.
