xQc Receives DMCA Strike For His Own Year Old Clip

In what many are referring to as a ‘bizzare’ DMCA strike, popular Twitch streamer Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel had his Twitter account locked for his own Twitch clip from over a year ago.

DMCA strikes are becoming an escalating cause of concern for streamers and content creators worldwide. However, a recent incident where Twitch streamer ‘xQc’ had his account locked on Twitter for his own Twitch clip from over a year ago has sparked controversies across the platform.

Through a Tweet today, the 26-year-old shared the news of his Twitter account receiving a DMCA strike for an old 10-second Twitch clip of himself.

He also attached an image of the platform temporarily locking down his account.

“DMCA for a year+ old 10s clip from my own stream. Wonderful and well thought out system! Next stop? Jail!” xQc exclaimed in his Tweet.

While there’s a possibility that some of his fans reported his year-old post just to troll the streamer, it doesn’t change the fact that content creators have to be extra cautious moving forward.

Not only can multiple DMCA strikes get your account banned, but they can also potentially cost you a large sum of money and even jail time.
