Virtus.Pro win Adrenaline Cyber League, first event post 7.22 patch

The first event post the 7.22 Dota 2 patch was held at Loft Hall, Moscow on 25th and 26th May.

3 teams were directly invited to the event to compete for a prize pool of 1,00,000 USD.

  • Natus Vincere
  • Evil Geniuses

The 4thteam, obtained via qualifiers was Team Spirit (ex-Old But Gold).

The format of the event was a single elimination bracket, with 2 semi-final games being played on Saturday and the grand finals on Sunday.

Both Virtus.Pro and Evil Geniuses played the event with stand-ins.

Rostislav “fn” Lozovoi played in place of Pavel “9pasha” Khvastunov, while EG coach Kanishka ‘Sam’ “BuLba” Sosale played in place of team captain Tal “Fly” Aizik.

The first game of the semi-finals saw Evil Geniuses take on Team Spirit.

The result was not what someone would have expected, as Team Spirit beat EG 2-0.

The second semi-final game was a closely contested affair between CIS titans Natus Vincere and Virtus.Pro. Both teams tried their best but eventually Virtus.Pro came out on top to win 2-1 against Natus Vincere and set up a grand finals match against Team Spirit.

The Grand finals held on 26th May, 2019 was a one-sided affair with Virtus Pro destroying Team Spirit 3-0 and taking home the grand prize of 65,000 USD.
