The event ran from July 6 to August 23, featuring 24 games and a total prize pool of more than $75 million. Team Spirit closed the show by winning the Counter-Strike 2 grand final, while AG.AL claimed the overall Club Championship and its $7,000,000 top prize. This was the first Esports World Cup held outside Saudi Arabia since the event launched in 2024.

The 2026 edition moved the Esports World Cup to Paris Expo Porte de Versailles and the Accor Arena, with matches spread across 7 weeks. Each of the 24 titles crowned its own champion, and those results also fed into the season-long Club Championship standings.

By the closing weekend, only 4 finals remained: CrossFire, Fortnite Reload, Trackmania, and Counter-Strike 2. All 4 were played out between August 22 and August 23, deciding both the last individual trophies and the overall Club Championship.

AG.AL Wins the EWC 2026 Club Championship

AG.AL International, the club identity used by Chinese organization All Gamers, won the Esports World Cup 2026 Club Championship with a total of 5,300 points. The win made AG.AL the first Chinese club to top the overall standings since the event began in 2024.

Team Falcons entered the final weekend as the points leader but could not close the gap. AG.AL’s Trackmania title, won by Gwendal “Gwen” Duparc, proved decisive in securing the $7,000,000 Club Championship prize.

French President Emmanuel Macron presented the Club Championship trophy to AG.AL during the closing ceremony at the Grand Palais on August 23.

Counter-Strike 2 Closes Out EWC 2026

Team Spirit defeated FUT Esports in the Counter-Strike 2 grand final to win the last individual trophy of the tournament. The match was played at the Accor Arena in Paris, bringing 7 weeks of competition to a close.

Team Spirit’s run through the bracket included a win over Legacy in the semi-finals, after Legacy had eliminated Team Falcons earlier in the playoffs.

The Esports World Cup is organized by the Esports Foundation, with tournaments supervised by ESL. The 2027 edition will introduce a nations-based companion event, the Esports Nations Cup, alongside the existing club format.
