Tencent announces multiple anime-based mobile games

Mobile gamers who also love to watch anime are in for a treat as Tencent Games has announced three new mobile games at a conference today. These games will come under different genres and will represent the actual characters and storyline of famous anime like One Piece and One Punch Man.

Daniel Ahmed, Senior Analyst at Nico Partners has revealed this information. He tweeted about three new games that are under development by multiple studios under Tencent Games. Starting with the One Piece title, it is temporarily called as Project: Fighter. As the name suggests, it is going to be a fighting game.

One Piece is a popular anime title with a vast storyline. It currently has more than 980 episodes and is still airing weekly. Tencent has got the approval of Bandai Namko and hence, this game will have as many original characters as possible. A short trailer was also released and it highlights initial arcs of the anime as storyline.

Players can enjoy their the main characters from Straw Hat Pirates and face against enemy Marines and other enemies from the first few seasons. This game is currently promised for China but a global release could be announced on the later stages.

Two more titles were announced in this conference. One of them will be based on One Punch Man and its original plot will be possibly incorporated in-game as well. This game will be ‘turn-based’ and further information has not been revealed yet.

The last title will be based on classic cartoon of Digimon. It will a RPG game and is named as “Digimon: New Century” and it is being developed by Qixia Interactive with Bandai Namko as partners. All of these games are only releasing in China for now.

It is very interesting to see Tencent working on multiple mobile titles at once and all of them are based on anime in one way or another. No release date have been announced yet but more information will be revealed on a later date.
