PUBG Mobile 4.6 Update: All Changes Explained

The PUBG Mobile 4.6 Update is one of the biggest updates released for the game this year. Named Midnight Hunters, the new version focuses heavily on a battle between vampire hunters and vampires, with new themed locations, PvE enemies, missions, transformation abilities, and special items. However, the update is not limited to the themed mode. PUBG Mobile 4.6 also brings the Inflatable Boat, major 7.62mm weapon improvements, the return of Ocean Odyssey, World of Wonder changes, Metro Royale Chapter 34, Season 32, new social features, and much more.

PUBG Mobile 4.6 Update Midnight Hunters Mode

The biggest addition to Version 4.6 is Midnight Hunters, which introduces a battle between Hunters and Vampires.

The mode is supported on Erangel, Livik, and Sanhok.

Several existing locations have been redesigned for the theme. Rozhok, Mylta, Quarry, and Gatka have been occupied by vampires and now feature a completely different appearance.

Meanwhile, the Hunter Guild can be found at Stalber and Sosnovka Military Base. These locations provide large indoor combat areas and several special activities.

Hunter Shooting Range

Players can find a vampire hunter shooting range and test their shooting skills. Better scores provide better rewards.

Hunter Guild Hidden Compartments

The Hunter Guild also has hidden loot areas. Objects such as tables, bookshelves, and murals may hide secret compartments containing supplies.

Bell Tower

Players can shoot the bell inside the themed area. Doing so will stun nearby PvE vampires, which can make fighting them easier.

Golden Bat

Players can interact with a stone statue to activate the Golden Bat challenge.

Once activated, the Golden Bat starts flying around for approximately 30 seconds. Players have to track and shoot it before it escapes. Successfully taking it down provides a bounty and random supplies.

There is no major penalty for failing, so players can attempt the challenge whenever they come across it.

Scream Crate

The Scream Crate is another interesting addition. These special puzzle crates can appear in vampire districts and wilderness areas.

Solve the puzzle correctly and the crate will open with rewards. Fail the puzzle and the crate will scream, potentially revealing your position to nearby enemies.

Nightkeeper Boss Fight in PUBG Mobile 4.6 Update

The Nightkeeper is one of the most powerful characters associated with the Hunter Guild.

He randomly appears at one of the Hunter Guild locations during each match. Players can initially talk to him to learn more about his story and receive supplies.

Later in the match, players can challenge the Nightkeeper to a fight.

Defeating him provides valuable rewards, but he is designed to be a powerful opponent, so taking him on without enough equipment can be risky.

New Guild Missions

Midnight Hunters features six Guild Missions that become available after the match begins.

One mission is selected as a special mission for the squad at the beginning of the match. Completing this particular mission provides better rewards.

One mission, Repair the Seal, takes players to weakened Vampire Leader seals around Rozhok and Quarry. After repairing the seal, vampires launch a counterattack. Players must defend the location for 90 seconds.

Another mission, Hunt the Vampire, can be activated through the Nightkeeper Phantom near Mylta’s polluted riverbank.

The vampire initially tries to escape while absorbing Blood Pools and Blood Roses to become stronger. If its growth reaches maximum level, the situation reverses and the evolved vampire begins hunting the players.

Teams have to eliminate it within the time limit. Their final rating depends on factors including elimination time and the number of surviving players.

There is also a Vampire Purging Area mission where players simply need to reach the marked area and eliminate all PvE vampires.

Bloodline Awakening Turns Players Into Vampires

One of the most interesting features of PUBG Mobile 4.6 is Bloodline Awakening.

This is a limited-time gameplay feature where eliminated players can choose to return as vampires. Instead of rejoining their original side, these players become enemies of all remaining Hunters.

A maximum of 20 vampire players can exist at the same time. If the vampires eliminate all remaining Hunters, they immediately win.

Vampire players receive four special abilities:

Claw Attack: A three-stage melee attack.

Absorb: Consume supplies on the ground to restore Health.

Blood Sense: Detect and mark a nearby Hunter.

Blood Amberfication: Temporarily enter a high-speed state while becoming immune to damage.

Bloodline Awakening will be available across multiple limited-time windows, beginning with September 18–20, followed by September 25–27 and additional periods throughout October and into November.

Silvermoon Chain

The Silvermoon Chain is one of the main themed items.

Its basic attack allows players to swing the chain as a weapon, but its abilities make it much more useful.

The Launch Chain skill can instantly eliminate normal PvE vampires. Against Elite vampires, it damages their Health and shield.

In PvP, hitting another player deals damage. However, hitting a building or fixed object turns the chain into a type of grappling hook, allowing players to quickly move around.

It becomes even more powerful against vampire players. Hitting one automatically pulls the vampire towards you while temporarily preventing the target from moving or using skills.

Its second ability, Chain Defense, creates a defensive area capable of blocking incoming damage for a limited period.

Twilight Bat Wings Let Players Transform Into Bats

The Twilight Bat Wings allow players to completely transform into a bat.

In bat form, players gain aerial mobility and can fly around the battleground. They can also dash and use Blink Teleport to quickly engage or escape fights.

Players can even attach themselves to a teammate’s back and travel together.

Another ability called Sonar Screech detects nearby enemies while slowing and gradually damaging them. Players can also charge the ability and send a stronger screech in a selected direction.

Against PvE enemies, the bat can drain their Health and recover its own Health. It can also cling to buildings and other fixed objects to recover a small amount of Health.

Blood Pact, Hunter Bandage, and Scarlet Tonic

Several other themed items have been introduced.

Blood Pact lets players establish a connection with teammates. Up to three teammates can be connected.

Connected players can sacrifice their own Health to heal another teammate. More importantly, a player can spend 30 Health to summon a connected teammate directly to their location, provided the other player accepts the request.

The Hunter Bandage is an improved healing item designed to restore Health quickly.

The Scarlet Tonic can fully restore both Health and Energy shortly after it is used.

New Vampire PvE Enemies

The update adds several vampire enemies.

The Bloodwalker is a melee-focused enemy. Its Elite version gets more advanced attacks, including a close-range life-steal dash and evasive movements.

The Nightbat can fly and launch sonic projectiles. Its Elite version gets stronger crowd-control sonic attacks and can drain players’ blood.

The Vampire Elder is another dangerous enemy. It summons magical orbs that connect to nearby enemies and make them stronger. Players should destroy these orbs first to remove their shields.

Elite PvE enemies also receive an additional shield bar. Breaking the shield stuns them and can allow players to trigger a special elimination animation.

Ocean Odyssey Is Returning in PUBG Mobile 4.6

Another major surprise is the return of Ocean Odyssey.

The popular themed mode originally released with PUBG Mobile Version 3.3 and is returning during the later part of September.

Players who enjoyed its underwater-themed locations and gameplay will therefore get another chance to experience the mode during Version 4.6.

New Inflatable Boat

Classic Mode is receiving a completely new vehicle called the Inflatable Boat.

It is a four-seater vehicle, and passengers can help row it. The more players rowing, the faster the boat travels.

More importantly, the Inflatable Boat is portable.

Players can pick it up during matches, carry it in their backpack, deploy it near suitable water locations, and retrieve it again when they no longer need it.

The Custom Garage can also now have a chance to spawn a Tracked Amphicarrier, which players can activate using Shop Tokens.

ACE32 and 7.62mm Weapons Buffed

Version 4.6 introduces several weapon balance adjustments.

The ACE32 receives improved animations and reduced screen shake to make firing more stable. Both horizontal and vertical recoil have been reduced.

Its base damage has also increased from:

46 → 47

Other 7.62mm rifles have received improvements as well, including:

  • AKM
  • M762
  • Honey Badger
  • Mk47
  • Groza

These weapons now have slightly reduced camera and animation shake while firing. Their firing animations and recoil have also been adjusted to improve burst-fire and full-auto stability.

Classic Mode Gets More Loot and Exploration Changes

PUBG Mobile 4.6 adds two types of interactive lockers that can randomly appear inside buildings, giving players another way to find loot.

Channel Buoys have been placed in the waters leading towards Military Base. Players can climb onto them if they get caught in danger while swimming.

Supply crates can now also appear floating on water and can be looted while swimming.

Another useful quality-of-life feature is Parachuting Auto-Glide. Players can push the joystick upward while parachuting to lock their character into automatic forward gliding.

New Erangel Missions

Erangel now features small in-match missions in both Classic and Themed Mode.

Players can discover special mission items while looting and activate mini objectives.

One mission sends players to a particular location to dig up combat-ready supplies.

Another allows players to hack specific in-match Supply Shops through the wireless network and receive Shop Tokens.

Supply Shops themselves have also received UI improvements, tab-based filtering, and a larger selection of basic and advanced items.

World of Wonder Gets Halloweeks Content

World of Wonder’s Brainrot gameplay is also getting a major Version 4.6 update with Halloween-themed content.

Six new Shining Brainrots and eight Pumpkin Brainrots have been added, with additional content planned weekly.

The level cap has increased to Level 25, while backpack capacity is now 64.

Players can fuse identical Brainrots together to upgrade them. Upgrading increases their star level, physical size, and Gold output.

Pumpkin-themed decorations have also been added to the map.

The update introduces local gifting and additional social features, while more Prismatic-quality Brainrots, event tokens, items, and limited-time events are planned for the following month.

Pumpkin-quality Brainrots are exclusive to Version 4.6.

World of Wonder Editor Improvements

Creators are getting several new tools.

The Effects Editor now supports custom particles and trail effects with configurable textures and appearances.

A new Stage Editor supports multiple stages and cross-stage teleportation. The feature is initially being rolled out in phases.

Group editing now includes module, object, and script locks to reduce conflicts when multiple creators are working together.

PUBG Mobile has also added B.Duck collaboration assets, including transformations, an inflatable hammer, and a slide.

Alan Walker content is also being added, including eight scene objects and the tracks On My Way and FATE.

PUBG Mobile Season 32

Version 4.6 also introduces S32 Classic and Casual Season, beginning on September 12.

The Classic Season comes with updated rewards across the different ranks.

Platinum players can receive an updated Season Set, while Diamond brings a Season Firearm. Crown adds a Season Parachute, while Ace provides a Backpack, Mask, and MVP Badge.

Higher levels such as Ace Master and Ace Dominator provide additional cosmetic rewards and emotes.

Players who reach Ace Dominator 30 Stars through Path of Glory can obtain rewards including a Dynamic Nickname, Intro Animation, and Dynamic Avatar.

S32 Ultimate Royale

S32 Ultimate Royale begins September 21.

A bonus points event will follow from September 22. Players can earn an additional 10 points for their first three matches played on Miramar or Rondo.

Rating protection will also apply to the first two matches played each day during the opening period of the Ultimate Royale season.

Metro Royale Chapter 34

Metro Royale receives Chapter 34, running from September 10 until November 9.

Vampire content has been added to Arctic Base. Some existing buildings will be replaced with Vampire Bases, which contain vampire PvE enemies and Scream Crates.

Defeating vampires or opening these crates can provide high-value items that players can sell.

Golden Bat Statues will also appear at selected locations. Activating and defeating the Golden Bat within the time limit gives players a chance to obtain valuable sellable items.

Card Collection System Changes

PUBG Mobile 4.6 introduces Card Token Packs.

Players can find these packs in Classic Mode or Metro Royale and bring them back to the Lobby. Playing different modes for a certain amount of time can also guarantee one.

Each pack contains Card Tokens and has an extremely small chance of directly providing the current Holo Card.

A Daily Perk Card feature has also been introduced. Three cards refresh every day and can be exchanged using Card Tokens.

The annual upgradable firearm reward is a five-level JS9 finish, making it the first upgradable JS9 finish in the system.

Players who do not complete the required collection progress during Version 4.6 can continue working towards it in Version 4.7.

Flash Crew and Social Improvements

Flash Crew receives a new Quick Team-Up button designed to help players find crews or teammates based on their preferred modes.

Crews will also receive descriptors to make their purpose easier to understand.

Recruitment messages, Popularity Battle information, ranking achievements, and other highlights can now be shared through Crew Chat.

Flash Lobby also receives new filters for finding suitable crews.

Personalized Voices in PUBG Mobile 4.6 Update

A new Personalized Voice section has been added to the inventory.

Personalized voices are available in multiple languages and can be unlocked using Perk Vouchers. Once unlocked, players can place them in the quick wheel for use during matches.

Players can even set them to range sync so nearby players can hear the voice.

Those who do not want to hear personalized voices from opponents can disable non-teammate personalized voice content through Settings.

Firearm Combat Power Rewards

Players who reach Transcendent level with a firearm during a season can unlock a season-limited firearm counter finish.

These counter finishes can then be selected and equipped through The Lab.

Home Mode Gets Cyber Nexus and Feast of Shadows

A new Home style called Cyber Nexus becomes available during Version 4.6.

The style includes Maple Courtyard-themed items obtainable through the Home Shop, Lucky Spin, Mysterious Merchant Crate, and Craftsman Pass.

A new Halloween-style activity called Feast of Shadows is also coming.

Players can participate as seekers and hunt specters for search points. Alternatively, they can become specters, hide from hunters, and scare them to earn fright points.

Eagle System Expanded to Metro Royale

PUBG Mobile’s Eagle System now supports Metro Royale in PUBG Mobile 4.6 update.

The per-match Eagle broadcast limit has been adjusted to three, while active investigators can receive additional daily broadcasts.

PUBG Mobile has also improved report feedback windows and Eagle broadcast text.

PUBG Mobile 4.6 Update: Major Features at a Glance

Version 4.6 is much bigger than just the Midnight Hunters mode. Its biggest additions include the Hunter vs Vampire gameplay, Bloodline Awakening, Twilight Bat Wings, Silvermoon Chain, new vampire PvE enemies, Inflatable Boat, ACE32 buff, improved 7.62mm rifles, Ocean Odyssey return, Metro Royale Chapter 34, Season 32, World of Wonder Halloweeks content, Card Collection changes, and new social features.

The themed mode is clearly the centrepiece, but Classic Mode players also receive meaningful weapon, vehicle, map, looting, and quality-of-life improvements.

With Ocean Odyssey returning later in September and Bloodline Awakening running through several limited-time periods, the PUBG Mobile 4.6 update will continue receiving new content well beyond its initial release.
