Ninjas in Pyjamas with huge 2020 revamp

Jonas ‘calc’ Gundersen, former professional Counter-Strike 1.6 player has taken charge of Ninjas In Pyjamas as their Chief Operating Officer. calc will look after esports operations and revenue after serving North as their Chief Commercial Officer.

calc described this to be a ‘Dream Job’ to The Esports Observer then added “I think NiP is arguably one of the most iconic brands within gaming, globally. It has been for many years,”. “A more structured approach builds up the legacy of teams and a more sound revenue structure for all teams, including our competitors, so we can build rivalries and storylines that last for decades.”

Besides a change in management, NIP has established a Head Quarter in Stockholm where over 50 staff and players are stationed. The HQ includes a Bootcamp for players, a content studio, gym and many other interactive areas.

NIP are currently competing in Counter-Strike Global Offensive, PlayerUnknown’s Battleground, Dota 2 and Rainbow Six Siege. They are partnered with Asus ROG, Betway, Faceit, NETGEAR, Twitch and Panasonic but their COO explained that making esports based revenue is their primary goal for 2020.“Whether or not that happens in one, two, or five years, and in what capacity and business model, is yet to be determined.” said Gundersen.
