New ranking system for CSGO teams released by CSPPA

The Counter-Strike Professional Players’ Association (CSPPA) on their Twitter have introduced a new ranking system for Counter-Strike: Global offensive division. Initially released by a Press agency in Copenhagen, Denmark, the CSPPA was counselled by more than 30 player representatives and “key stakeholders” from the current conglomerate of the same. This ranking system has been headlined by a plethora of professional CS:GO players from the Professional scene ultimately moderated by the CSPPA.


Among the “Key motivations” listed on the bulletin, CSPPA strives to bring transparency in their new initiative as compared to others who determine the rankings in CS:GO. A rulebook regarding the same has been released on CSPPA’s website which is managed by a ranking committee consisting of professional players representing this Danish initiative. Stakeholders to get a central idea through this handbook where they stand a chance to provide inputs in order to achieve a dynamic ranking system.

CSPPA reached out to these player representatives for their inputs in this ecosystem.

Prior to the release of CSPPA’s first world ranking, opinions were appreciated from various teams, tournament organizers and the ones associated with the ecosystem of Counter Strike : Global Offensive. In the statement, the Ranking player committe will lay probes on other ranking models where they have been inspired by Chess and it’s ELO determination mechanics.
