With the League of Legends MSI 2026 having recently concluded, the world's best LoL teams have already started their preparations to head to Paris for the upcoming Esports World Cup 2026 (EWC 2026). Scheduled to kick off on July 15th, this year's edition of the LoL EWC brings a new host city and a shot at redemption for teams like T1, who are looking to bounce back following a rough exit at the MSI. The Esports World Cup League of Legends 2026 tournament runs for five days and is scheduled to conclude on July 19th. The event will see 16 elite LoL teams competing for the lion’s share of a whopping $2,000,000 USD prize pool. LoL Esports World Cup 2026 Schedule & Format The LoL EWC 2026 will be split into two stages: a Group Stage and the Playoffs. The groups will be split into four double-elimination (GSL) brackets with four teams each, with all group matches besides elimination matches played as best-of-one and elimination matches played as best-of-three. The top two teams from each group will advance to a single-elimination playoff bracket, where all matches except the Grand Final are best-of-three, and the Grand Final is best-of-five. The quarterfinals, semifinals, and the grand final of the event will be played between July 17 and July 19.
