Most gamers spend a decent amount of money on skins, pets, and hats, so wouldn’t it be great if we can also do something good while we are at it? GoodGamer is a new initiative that strives to help the most effective charities in the world through in-game micro purchases. You’d get to choose how much to donate and to which charities which are divided in four different categories – poverty, animals and climate change, meta-charities, and far-future and research.

GoodGamer’s idea is to approach Valve’s managing director Gabe Newell and convince him to implement the possibility for developers and modders to sell charity items in the recently introduced item shops on steam. To do that however they need gamers’ support so make sure to spread the word by liking their page¬†and telling all your friends about it.
