The timing of Gen.G’s entry could not be more perfect, given the resurgence of Duos in the FNCS in 2026, which has resulted in a lot of excitement in the competitive scene, as they have been playing in Trios for years. Epic’s makeover brings with it a prize pool of more than $10 million for the whole season, including hosting four LAN events, a major jump from what has been offered in the last seasons. This makes Gen.G’s addition to the competitive scene a clear indicator of faith in its future.
It’s not a completely new Fortnite foray by Gen.G. The organization fielded notable rosters, including an all-female squad, earlier as a way of showing early commitment to diversity within competitive gaming.
