According to a report by WIN.gg, the creator of Counter-Strike Minh “Gooseman” Le and Astralis chairman & founder Nikolaj Nyholm have collaborated to establish a new firm – Scattershot Limited. The report further attached official documents affirming their partnership. Scattershot Ltd. is at present registered in the United Kingdom.
Minh “Gooseman” Le is a Vietnamese-Canadian video game programmer who co-created Half-Life mod Counter-Strike besides Jess Cliffe in the late 1990s. He had also commenced the Counter-Strike franchise, later, being employed by Valve for around 8 years.Â
Minh has worked on several other games like Tactical Intervention, Rust while Pearl Abyss being his latest venture. He is also ranked at number 14 in IGN’s ‘Top 100 Game Creators of All Time’ list.Â
Nikolaj Nyholm is the founder and chairman of Astralis and a prominent Danish entrepreneur and investor. The organization has fielded teams in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, League of Legends, and FIFA. It’s CS:GO roster is regarded as one of the most successful lineups in the history of professional Counter-Strike.
According to the documents that have surfaced, Scattershot Ltd. was listed in the UK under the business code SIC 62011 on September 25 earlier this year. This code prominently covers businesses indulged in Ready-made Interactive Leisure and Entertainment Software Development. Both Minh and Nikolaj are equal owners of the company with a capital of 100 GBP (129 USD) as a symbolic initiation.

The initial fund is allegedly a token to secure the firm’s name for future operations. But where does their alliance seem to be heading? Nikolaj was the founder of RFRSH Entertainment that owned Esport team Astralis as well as tournament organizer BLAST Pro Series.
However, due to conflict of interests and revenue sharing between the two subsidiaries, both were separated. While he today heads one of the most successful CS:GO organizations, Minh established the Counter-Strike franchise which today has transformed into a juggernaut.
