KRAFTON India will start the BGMI Showdown (BMSD) 2026 on September 22. The tournament runs until October 18 and carries a prize pool of ₹1 crore. It will be held at the Savaaya Convention in Hyderabad, and 48 BGMI teams will compete over the course of a month for a place in the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2026.
KRAFTON revealed the full list of participating teams on September 13. BMSD 2026 is the first major event in KRAFTON India’s esports roadmap for the second half of the year, and it leads directly into the BGMI International Cup (BMIC) 2026 in Mumbai.
What Is BMSD 2026?
BMSD stands for Battlegrounds Mobile India Showdown. It is an invite-only BGMI tournament organised by KRAFTON and Tesseract Esports. Unlike the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) or the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS), BMSD has no open registration. Teams are invited directly based on their standing on the KIE Leaderboard, along with their results in BGIS 2026 and BMPS 2026.
This is the third edition of BMSD. Liquipedia lists it as an A-Tier event on the Battlegrounds Mobile India client, played in Squads TPP mode.
BMSD 2026 Dates and Schedule
The event runs for close to a month, from September 22 to October 18, 2026, split across several stages before the offline finals.

The Grand Finals will be played offline over three days, from October 16 to October 18.
BMSD 2026 Venue
The LAN Grand Finals will take place at the Savaaya Convention in Hyderabad. KRAFTON India had left the venue unconfirmed when it first announced BMSD 2026 in July and named Hyderabad as the host city closer to the event. Hyderabad also hosted the BMSD Grand Finals in 2025, at the Tesseract Arena.
BMSD 2026 Prize Pool
BMSD 2026 carries a total prize pool of ₹1 crore, close to $104,000. KRAFTON has not published the exact prize split for this edition yet, but the total matches both BMSD 2025 and the upcoming BMIC 2026.
BMSD 2026 Teams
A total of 48 teams were invited to BMSD 2026 based on their performance through the 2026 BGMI season, with the complete list confirmed by KRAFTON on September 13.
Several established organisations received direct invites, including Orangutan, Soul, GodLike and Apex Gaming. Orangutan enters as the defending BMSD champion after winning the 2025 edition under in-game leader Aaru, though the team had a middling run at PMGC 2025 and the PUBG Mobile World Cup (PMWC) 2026 earlier this year. The rest of the 48-team field is made up of clubs that earned their spots through BGIS 2026, BMPS 2026 and the ongoing KIE rankings, rather than through an open qualifier.
BMSD 2026 Format
KRAFTON has not published a detailed format breakdown for this edition, but the schedule points to a multi-stage structure. The 48 teams begin with three weeks of Promotion & Relegation matches, where results decide who stays in contention.
Survivors move into Upper Bracket Survival and Lower Bracket Survival stages before the field narrows at the Semifinals. Teams eliminated at that point get one more chance through the Last Chance stage. The strongest teams from these rounds advance to the LAN Grand Finals in Hyderabad, where the BMSD 2026 champion will be decided.
Path to BMIC 2026 and PMGC 2026
Results at BMSD 2026 carry weight beyond the tournament itself. The top six teams will qualify for the BGMI International Cup (BMIC) 2026, scheduled for October 30 to November 1 at the Dome, SVP Indoor Stadium in Mumbai. BMIC 2026 brings together 16 teams (six from India, five from South Korea and five from Japan) competing for another ₹1 crore prize pool.
The top two teams from BMIC 2026 then advance to the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2026, set to be held in Turkiye with a $3 million prize pool. As in 2025, Indian teams have a chance to secure up to three total spots at PMGC 2026 through this pathway. More details on both events are expected on KRAFTON India Esports as the season progresses.
BMSD 2026 follows the close of the BGMI Masters Series (BGMS) Season 5, which crowned Nebula Esports champions earlier this month, and keeps up a packed second half of the season for Indian BGMI esports that runs through BMIC 2026 in early November.
