Through a blog post earlier today, Embark Studios officially unveiled its plans for the upcoming Arc Raiders Frozen Trail update.
For the unaware, the Arc Raiders Frozen Trail update is expected to be the biggest update to the game since its release, and it’s all set to bring a ton of new content to the extraction shooter.
The highlights of the Frozen Trail update include a brand-new snow-themed map, an enormous new Arc Operation, new forms of Arc enemies, deeper progression systems, and more.

Arc Raiders Frozen Trail New Map
The new Frozen Trail map features a harsh, frozen settlement located at the edge of the Rust Belt and nestled beneath towering mountains. This area was once home to thriving villages, factories, research facilities, and an observatory, but has long since been abandoned.
The map is expected to feature lots of verticality and an underground area. It is also set to have unique new environments and opportunities that players haven’t seen before.
“Building the new map has challenged our level design team in exciting new ways,” Embark said in a statement. “We’ve focused on creating an ambitious environment with greater verticality, exploration, and opportunities for discovery. You’ll encounter threats above and below ground, and navigate environments that no Raiders have seen before. “
Arc Raiders Frozen Trail: New Operation
The Arc Raiders Frozen Trail update will introduce an enormous new Arc Operation for experienced Raiders looking to put their skills to the ultimate test.
While the devs have remained pretty tight-lipped about the new Operation, they have mentioned that it won’t be an easy challenge.
“You’ll need to balance combat, teamwork, risk, and survival in what we believe will be one of the most intense experiences ARC Raiders has offered to date – one that rewards those willing to rise to the challenge.”
Arc Raiders Frozen Trail: New Arc Enemies
Embark has confirmed that the Arc Raiders Frozen Trail update will see new kinds of Arc enemies arriving alongside the new map, with each enemy designed to challenge players in different ways. These new Arc enemies will range from small and nifty problem-makers to an enormous machine to stop you in your tracks.
“Creating new ARC is one of the more involved parts of development,” the devs said. “From early concepts and animation to behavior and machine learning systems that give them their distinctive ‘spark of life’, every enemy goes through months of iteration to get right. We think it’ll be worth the wait, and we can’t wait to see what you think.”
Arc Raiders Frozen Trail: Outpost and Skill Tree Rework
The Arc Raiders Frozen Trail update will completely rework the Raider Skill Tree system while also adding new forms of progression in the game.
Moving forward, Raiders will have the opportunity to expand from the Raider Den to the Outpost. Players are able to decorate their own Outposts, research new elements of the world, and take their first steps to reclaim the surface from the ever-evolving Arc threat.
The new and reworked Skill Tree system is designed to give players more control over the kind of Raider they want to become.

Embark has confirmed that the Arc Raiders Frozen Trail update will hit the live servers on October 8, 2026.
