As Operation Chrono update goes live today, developer Garena revealed that the international football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo or CR7 has joined the Free Fire game as a new playable character named “Chrono”.
CR7 – The New Free Fire Character
The Juventus forward CR7 will become the game’s latest global brand ambassador and share his likeness with the latest character Chrono. Chrono will be the central figure of the latest Operation Chrono event that goes lives later in the day.
This partnership between CR7 and the leading mobile game has also become the biggest partnership in the industry thus far. This partnership also marks a shift in marketing strategy for mobile games. This year Epic also partnered with rapper Travis Scott for an exclusive virtual concert which marked another shift from traditional marketing tactics that gaming companies used to rely on before.
It’s a great feeling having not only a character in Free Fire modeled after me, but also having the whole universe within the game-changing along with it. The Garena team has worked into the game on tons of new features and elements for Operation Chrono. I hope Free Fire players all over the world are just as excited as I am!
