Popular Twitch streamer ExtraEmily has been banned for an indefinite period after sparking outrage in the community for texting while driving.
Over the course of recent months, viewers of ExtraEmily have raised their concern over how the streamer is putting her life as well as others at risk by violating traffic laws. She was once criticised for jaywalking and to consider most recent violations, Emily’s habit of texting when driving has shocked fans.
While her content is loved by many, violating the regulations puts her life at risk along with others which no one is a fan of. Twitch has a history of penalizing the streamer in situations like this but Emily managed to evade it until today.
Twitch doesn’t support IRL streamers violating traffic laws and fans assumed that might have been the case with Emily. While it was not specified why she got banned, it will be safe to assume that it was the texting incident given it caused quite the uproar within the community which couldn’t have gone unnoticed by Twitch.
Her channel is unavailable at the moment and she is yet to speak up about it. While Twitch never reveals why the account is getting banned, we can only assume until that point. As it stands, her channel is temporarily removed but for an indefinite period and we do not know when she can get back to streaming.
