Team Vitality defeat Global Esports in VCT LOCK//IN opener

0

Global Esports’ debut at their first ever international VCT tournament has been spoiled by Team Vitality. Despite forcing the french based side to a 3rd map, the Jordan “AYRIN” He led side were sent packing in the single elimination bracket.

Match Details :

Event :  VCT LOCK//IN
Venue : São Paulo, Brazil

Event type : LAN
Event structure : Best of 3

Losing team is eliminated due to the bracket’s gruesome Single Elimination run.

Map Veto :

1. Global Esports ban Ascent

2. Team Vitality ban Icebox

3. Global Esports pick Split

4. Team Vitality pick Pearl

5. Global Esports ban Haven

6. Team Vitality ban Fracture

7. Lotus was left over

Map 1 : Split (Pick : Global Esports, Winner : Team Vitality, Final Score : 13:4)

AYRIN opened up Split with a splendid 3K clutch over Team Vitality which indeed made the crowd in Brazil roar to his heroics. But it was Team Vitality’s Karel “Twisten” Ašenbrener who

let hell loose on GE as the 19 year-old Czech annihilated every reinforcement of theirs to take a commanding lead of 9-3 in the first half.

With Global Esports seemingly destitute and listless, Team Vitality secured their opponent’s pick, thanks to Twisten who ended up racking 28 kills on his Jett pick.

Map 2 : Pearl (Pick : Team Vitality, Winner : Global Esports, Final Score : 13-9)

With the first half going in favor of Team Vitality, what impressed the casters was the synergy and the overall team effort displayed by Global Esports across the half. Pearl began to roll out as a near skirmish for both the sides with Global Esports clawing their way back in the series after a failed glide in the first map.

Although Global Esports took back the lead early in the second half, the intensity of the match remained high throughout. Vitality indeed picked up a few rounds on the fly every so often to try and even the score out but it was Ganesh “SkRossi” Gangadhar and company who came out to be strong.

They eventually forced Vitaliy to fold when they were down to just one or two players. The varying economic Vulnerability was the deciding factor in GE’s 13-9 victory and subsequent map selection over Vitality.

Map 3 : Lotus (Left over in Veto, Winner : Team Vitality, Final Score : 13:6)

The first half ended with Global Esports down 4-8 to Lotus, a game they should have started off strong in. When it was Vitality’s turn to defend, they continued to dominate thanks to well-timed site takes and consistent round-on-round impacts from Micha “MOLSI” cki and Jokbas “ceNder” Labutis.

Lotus ended favoring Vitality to further qualify in the LOCK//IN but it was Global Esports who won the hearts of everyone, most importantly their South Asian fans.

Riot’s Attempt to Expand Valorant to Other Platforms

0

Since its launch in 2020, several gamers shifted from CSGO to Valorant for numerous reasons. Some were optimistic about the sophisticated anti-cheat, while some were excited about the variations it offered in a competitive environment. Be that as it may, the players on the other platforms such as Mac, Xbox, PlayStation, didn’t receive anything as Valorant is only available on Windows platform for now.

There were several ups and downs throughout Valoran’t journey of more than two years. Riot introduced new maps and agents, nerfed and buffed several agents, and also fixed a huge number of bugs and glitches. As a result, the game is now more stable than it was two years ago. Apart from that, Valoran’t esports scene has also thrived year on year.

Riot’s strategy to expand Valorant

For now, only PC players can play Valorant unlike its competitor CSGO which is available on multiple platforms. To give intense competition, Riot should think about expanding the free to play tactical shooter to several other platforms. It will help to grow the player base as well as popularity of the game which would definitely be in Riot’s favor.

Previously, Valorant’s executive producer Anna Donlon confirmed that their team was working on beta version for console release but it won’t get released until it becomes close to perfect.

Recently, in 2023 Dev Diaries, Anna Donlon said, “We’re continuing our work on Valorant to new platforms. It’s going slower than we’d hoped, probably slower than you’d hoped, but we want to get it right.

Recently, Valorant collaborated with Microsoft through the Xbox Game Pass. PlayStation and Xbox players are eagerly waiting for the game to get released on those platforms. Even though, nothing is confirmed yet, we can say that Valorant’s expansion on other platforms is definitely on the roadmap of Riot. However, it will take time maybe years.

Apart from Microsoft Windows, on which platform do you want to play Valorant? Let us know in the comment section below.

Valve Denies Accommodation Coverage for CSGO Coaches in Americas RMR: Report

Joshua “m1cks” Micks has claimed that Valve will not be paying to send coaches to the Regional Major Ranking (RMR) tournament. According to the current head coach of Detonate, the company will only be covering the costs of sending five players to the upcoming RMR tournament. This decision means that coaches will be left out of the event, and teams will have to bear the cost of sending their coaches if they wish to bring them along.

This announcement has not been received well by the CS:GO community, with many expressing their disappointment and frustration under the Tweet.

“We are treated like garbage by the developer of the game to which I dedicated my life,” former Major winner Wilton “zews” Prado said in a statement.

Coaches play an integral role in the success of teams, and according to Micks, most tournaments pay for the cost of six people (five players + coach). He further stated that some tournaments also choose to pay for the manager as well.

A report from Dust2.us confirms that the information packets provided to all teams attending the BLAST.tv Paris Major Americas RMR states that coaches attending the RMR in Monterrey, Mexico may not have their costs covered by Valve.

“BLAST will provide and pay for accommodation, flights, visas and catering for the core 5 members of your roster,” the information packet reads, as per the report. “Any additional members including managers, substitutions or content staff flights and visas will be organised by BLAST at the expense of the team.”

It remains to be seen whether this decision will have a significant impact on the quality of the tournament.

Valorant Challengers League Rules Hinder Pakistan’s Promising Players from Attending LAN Event

0

Pakistan’s esports scene has been garnering attention for its prowess in the first-person shooter game, Valorant. The country is proud of its talented Valorant players, who are making waves in Southeast Asia. However, the Valorant Challengers League has thrown a spanner in the works, hindering the progress of these players. The reason? The ongoing political unrest between India and Pakistan has made it incredibly challenging for Pakistani players to secure visas for the LAN event.

Despite the challenges, a few talented Valorant pros from Pakistan, including Muhammad “soulM8” Usman, Moiz Saleem Khan (aka MSKVal), Mustafa “Shooter” Kamal, and Abdul “k1Ng” Khero, were hopeful of attending the Valorant Challengers League event in India. Unfortunately, their hopes were dashed when they failed to secure visas due to the stringent league rules, which place the onus on players to obtain the necessary documentation.

The ongoing political tension between India and Pakistan has made it virtually impossible for Pakistani players to obtain visas, leaving them out of the running for the Valorant Challengers League event. K1Ng expressed his disappointment, suggesting that Riot Games, the organizer of the event, should shift PK (Pakistan) to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to avoid visa-related issues. However, it is unclear whether Riot Games will take any action to address this concern.

Moreover, the Valorant Challengers League event would have been a golden opportunity for Pakistan to showcase its talented players to the world. But with visa restrictions and political unrest, the chances of Pakistani players participating in the event are slim. Even worse, Pakistani players are currently grouped with Southeast Asian teams, while their default in-game region is set to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), causing even more friction.

The Valorant Challengers League’s rules have placed an undue burden on Pakistani players, hampering their chances of competing on a global stage. If this issue is not addressed, it could have serious implications for the growth of Pakistan’s esports scene and the talented players who are working hard to put their country on the map.
