Complexity Expands Partnership with U.S. Army for 5th Consecutive Year

0

For its fifth iteration, Soldier Showdown, a multi-title, cross-platform esports competition for active-duty U.S. service members, has been announced by Complexity Gaming. The Soldier Showdown series emphasizes gaming to foster camaraderie among U.S. Army soldiers as part of an expansion of cooperation with the U.S. Army Installation Management Command’s Family and Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (U.S. Army MWR).

The U.S. Army and Complexity have scaled their collaboration yearly since June 2019. Beginning on May 6, 2023, Soldier Showdown 5 will give U.S. Army members currently on active duty the chance to engage in three months of head-to-head competition in the games Multiversus in May, Rocket League in July, and COD Warzone in September.

In November 2023 at Complexity’s headquarters, the Lenovo Legion Esports Centre at The Star in Frisco, Texas, the top players in each title will proceed to the live finals. The long-standing cooperation between Complexity and the U.S. Army includes Soldier Showdown 5. The tournament series, which is now in its fifth year, emphasizes the commitment of the two to developing teamwork and friendship through gaming.

For the first time in this year’s cooperation, Complexity will use the industry’s top analytics tool, Stream Hatchet, to evaluate the performance of the rivalry. Soldier Showdown 5 is expected to draw more players than previous iterations thanks to the addition of new tools and the finals’ return to the Lenovo Legion Esports Centre following a two-year absence. Moreover, the official Twitch channel of Army Entertainment will stream weekly matchups.

Gaming has always been an amazing way to connect with people all over the world, but its power to build morale and strengthen bonds within the U.S. Army is especially noteworthy. Soldier Showdown is a favorite amongst our Soldiers, and we are thrilled to renew our partnership with Complexity to help create even more opportunities for our Soldiers to compete and forge a closer connection with one another. The Soldier Showdown Series is a perfect way to demonstrate our commitment to the ‘Be All You Can Be’ Army campaign!

XDefiant: All Game Modes Explained

0

Ubisoft’s impending arena shooter, XDefiant, has caught the attention of the gaming community ever since its 2021 declaration, due to its assorted game modes and intriguing class system. Following several beta tests to enhance its gameplay, the release date for XDefiant is quickly approaching, leading numerous players to be curious about the game modes obtainable within.

Therefore, in this article, we will furnish an outline of the distinct game modes that XDefiant has in store.

XDefiant offers players five game modes that cater to diverse playstyles. These game modes are inspired by prominent first-person shooter games like Call of Duty, Team Fortress 2, and Overwatch. XDefiant classifies its game modes into two types – Arcade and Linear.

Every Game Mode You Can Play in Ubisoft’s XDefiant

Arcade Modes:

The Arcade type features vast, roomy maps that offer players multiple routes to rotate and take cover in. This game type has three match modes that players can revel in: Domination, Occupy, and Hot Shot.

Domination

Domination, in which two teams of six players each compete against each other to capture and hold three control points on the map, is a popular game mode. The team with the most points at the end of the match wins, and the opposing team strives to take over the control points, so players must defend them from incoming attacks.

Occupy

Occupy, which is similar to Domination but has only one capture zone that moves around the map instead of three fixed control points, is another game mode. Players must move from point to point to capture the new zone, and the team that successfully holds it down is awarded the point.

Hot Shot

Hot Shot is inspired by Call of Duty’s Kill Confirmed mode. In this mode, players eliminate their opponents, who drop an emblem upon elimination. The opposing team can pick up the emblem to receive points in their overall match point pool. Nevertheless, if a teammate of the eliminated player picks up the emblem, it denies points to the opposing team.

Linear Modes:

The Linear type, on the other hand, includes long maps with a starting and an endpoint, with limited rotation points. Players must hold down particular points to stop the opponent’s progression through the map. There are two game modes in XDefiant’s Linear type: Zone Control and Escort.

Zone Control

Zone Control is similar to Domination and Occupy, but it has a unique twist. There are five zones for players to capture or defend, and the attacker’s goal is to unlock and progress through the zones. The defender’s goal is to prevent this from happening.

Escort

Meanwhile, Escort, which is inspired by the payload push game type in Overwatch, sees players pushing a payload robot from the starting point to the endpoint with capture points in the middle. The attackers need to get the payload to the endpoint to win, while the defenders must prevent this from happening.

To summarize, XDefiant presents players with a range of game modes that cater to various playstyles. The game’s arcade and linear types offer players with a diverse set of gameplay experiences that are sure to keep them engaged for hours on end. So, are you excited about playing XDefiant? Please let us know in the comments below.

XDefiant ‘Searching for player lobby’ error: How to fix

0

The highly anticipated Ubisoft game, XDefiant, has recently advanced to its closed beta testing phase, but players have encountered a notorious issue labeled the ‘Searching for player lobby’ error. This error has prevented many players from accessing the game across different platforms, including consoles and PCs. Despite the severity of this problem, Ubisoft has not addressed this issue as of yet. Nevertheless, players can attempt various workarounds to resolve this problem and enjoy XDefiant without any hitches.

The ‘Searching for player lobby’ error emerges when players search for matches and can’t locate any other players to engage with, resulting in several players being stranded on the lobby screen or unable to access the Practice Range.

Solutions for ‘Searching for Player Lobby’ Error in XDefiant

One solution that may be effective is flushing the DNS servers, which can clear out any caches that may cause the error. This solution is applicable only to Windows PCs. Another possible fix involves using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to connect to different regions of the world, such as Mudfish or ExitLag. While not the most optimal solution, this workaround may assist in matchmaking by increasing the probability of encountering more players in other regions.

Restarting the router is another simple solution that may assist in resolving internet issues. Lastly, players can wait for an official fix from Ubisoft.

It’s important to note that these are temporary workarounds, and Ubisoft has yet to address this issue officially. The closed beta testing phase will end on April 23, 2023, at 11 pm PT, providing ample time for players to wait for the servers to stabilize or attempt any of the above solutions.

Waiting for Ubisoft’s Official Fix

Due to an overwhelming number of players attempting to play the game, XDefiant servers are presently down, mirroring the same circumstances that occurred when Overwatch 2 was launched. As such, players are advised to wait until the servers stabilize.

However, players have been left frustrated by Ubisoft’s silence on the issue. With no official communication from Ubisoft on when this issue will be addressed, players are left in the dark.

XDefiant’s Impact on the Gaming Industry

Despite the ‘Searching for player lobby’ error, XDefiant has already made waves in the gaming industry. The game’s combination of first-person shooter mechanics and multiplayer gameplay has been praised for its innovation and fresh take on the genre. With Ubisoft’s track record of producing popular games like Assassin’s Creed and Rainbow Six Siege, XDefiant has the potential to be the next big hit.

In conclusion, the ‘Searching for player lobby’ error in XDefiant may be exasperating, but players can attempt various potential fixes. As the closed beta testing phase comes to a close, it remains to be seen how Ubisoft will handle this issue moving forward. Nevertheless, XDefiant has already made a significant impact on the gaming industry and is set to be a game-changer in the coming months.
