ZyWOo bags the Most Valuable Player award at Blast.tv Major 2023

After winning it for his team the Blast.tv Paris Major 2023, Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut was given the most valuable player award. The 22-year-old French won his first Major trophy at home and was the catalyst for his team’s success.

The AWPer for Vitality played exceptionally well in the final against GamerLegion, and his contributions were enough to propel him ahead of players like Martin “Stavn” Lund, Mihai “iM” Ivan, and Lotan “Spinx” Giladi to win the MVP award.

ZywOo’s performance was so far incredible, but he wasn’t the only one that fragged hard for Vitality. Spinx finished the Major with a 1.26 player rating, good for third place overall behind tournament winner ZywOo and GamerLegion’s Ivan “iM” Mihai, who was a tournament standout for his whole performance.

The 22-year-old maintained his form throughout the event, placing him at the top of various statistical categories. According to statistics by HLTV.org, ZyWoO ended the blast.tv major with a 2.0 rating of 1.39 across 10 Maps.

In addition to his first-place finishes in KD-diff (+92) and Damage diff per round (23.3), he also showed outstanding performance in other areas, such as DPR (#3) (86.7), rounds with at least one kill (#2) (54.2), and impact rating (#1) (1.47).

ZyWOo added yet another MVP award to his cabinet, making it 15 in total. As per the stats, Nicolai “device” Reedtz (19) and Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev (21) currently lead the count. The MVP award just sits as a cherry on top of the cake for ZyWOo as he had never won a major before achieving this feat.

ZywOo is the third French player to ever win a Major MVP trophy after Happy of LDLC at DreamHack Winter 2014 and the kennyS of EnVyUs at DreamHack Cluj-Napoca 2015,

In the finals against GamerLegion, he saved his finest performance for last, posting a +20 K/D in both Nuke and Overpass. This was his second playoff series in which he finished with a +20 score; the first was against Into the Breach.

Vitality wins BLAST.tv Paris CSGO Major 2023

Team Vitality have beaten GamerLegion, 2-0 in the Grand-finals of the Blast.tv Paris CSGO Major 2023 and have been crowned as the champions of the last major in the history of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. In the process, they take away a lion’s share of $500,000 USD from the prize pool.

As predicted by the pundits, Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut secured his first-ever major title and so did Lotan “Spinx” Giladi, who despite being the newest addition to the roster, proved himself on the stage in front of a massive crowd in Paris.

Match Details

  • Team Vitality Vs GamerLegion
  • Match Type: Best of 3, LAN
  • Grand-Finals, Blast.tv Major Grand-Finals

Map Veto

  • GamerLegion removed Anubis
  • Vitality removed Ancient
  • GamerLegion picked Overpass
  • Vitality picked Nuke
  • Vitality removed Mirage
  • GamerLegion removed Vertigo
  • Inferno was left over

Map 1: Overpass (Pick: GamerLegion, Winner: Vitality, Final Score: 16-6

Team Vitality, despite winning the pistol round, took off to a great start as they comfortably cruised towards an 11-4 lead in the first half. GamerLegion’s every strategy seemed to have been marred and countered by the reinforcements set up by Team Vitality.

Emil “Magisk” Reif made it tough for the multinational side as the offensive squad were constantly picked off from entering the B-site by the Dane. With Spinx further making it tough for Ivan “iM” Mihai and company, GamerLegion were denied their own map pick, losing 6-16 to the French-Danish powerhouse.

Map 2: Nuke (Pick: Team Vitality, Winner: Team Vitality, Final Score: 16-13)

Coming from the interval, GamerLegion started off strong on Nuke, going 9-4 up on their defense. Having traded rounds back and forth with Vitality, GamerLegion captain iM took the matter into his own hands, as he was spotted punishing the French side left, right, and center before they quickly raced up to the double-digit mark on Nuke, ending the first half 10-5 in their favor.

It is always recommended to take the first-half scores with the grain of salt as a majority of the fans thought GamerLegion to be forcing Inferno on Vitality. The latter, without leaving any room for error, charted a majestic comeback on their defense, locking out every player of GamerLegion’s off-the-bomb sites. Vitality were able to square off the scores 13-13, thanks to Magisk’s 3K which wiped GamerLegion clean apart.

Feeling completely listless, GamerLegion rode low on fuel and morale as they started to give man-advantage to their opponents which kept adding to their woes. In the end, it was the last standing duo of Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut and Dan “apEX” Madesclaire who made it happen for Vitality as they ripped apart GamerLegion to win the Blast.tv Paris Major 2023.

GTA 6 Release Date Teased for Holiday 2024

0

Presumed to be the most expensive game ever developed, the mounting pressure has prompted impatient players to demand any glimpse of a potential release window for GTA 6. The phenomenal success of GTA V in 2013, becoming the most profitable entertainment product ever, owes much to the ongoing popularity of GTA Online. As a result, all eyes are now fixed on GTA 6, expecting it to exceed all previous records.

Take-Two Interactive has boldly projected a staggering $8 billion in net bookings for its upcoming 2025 fiscal year, scheduled to commence in April 2024. This ambitious forecast is attributed to the anticipated release of “several groundbreaking titles.” It’s worth noting that Take-Two’s 2023 financial year amassed an impressive $5.3 billion, making this projected leap truly monumental.

According to a report “The earnings report reads: “For the last several years, we have been preparing our business to release an incredibly robust pipeline of projects that we believe will take our company to even greater levels of success.”

What do we know about a GTA 6 release date?

Tez2, a reputable insider for GTA information, recently hinted at a potential release window of “Holiday 2024” for GTA 6. While this news might initially sound promising, it comes with a caveat: there is a possibility that certain content could be sacrificed or reserved for future DLC. Hurrying the development of GTA 6 solely to satisfy eager fans can be a perilous strategy, as demonstrated by the experiences of games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Redfall.

Regardless of when GTA 6 ultimately arrives, it is bound to leave an indelible mark in gaming history, either as an unparalleled triumph or a colossal disappointment. The anticipation for this highly anticipated automotive adventure is undeniable, but unfortunately, the precise release date remains shrouded in uncertainty.

BGMI server status today (21st May): Are servers open today?

Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), the highly anticipated game, has generated immense excitement among gamers in India. However, since the announcement of its unblocking by Krafton after a hiatus of nine and a half months, players have been eagerly awaiting the servers to go live. As of 21st May 2023, the BGMI servers remain offline, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the game’s return. In this article, we will explore the current server status and provide insights into the upcoming developments.

BGMI Server Unavailability: What Players Need to Know

As the BGMI servers continue to be offline, players are unable to access the game. Even the auto-login feature has been disabled temporarily, displaying a message upon launch that promises an improved gaming experience. The message reads, “Hello BGMI Fan! BGMI servers will be unavailable for a while to come up with a better and bigger experience. While we are working to give you a seamless experience, your account will be safe, and your progress till now will be retained. We will keep you informed of further developments and the release date through our social media platforms.”

Attempting to log in manually leads to another pop-up message confirming the servers’ unavailability. The message states, “Server is not online yet. Please check the official news for information regarding availability. Thank you for your understanding.”

As of now, there has been no change in the server status, and players will have to wait patiently for Battlegrounds Mobile India’s return on both Google Play and the Apple App Store.

BGMI’s Return Announcement and Release Date

Krafton, the South Korean developer and publisher of BGMI, made the eagerly awaited announcement about the game’s return through its social media channels. However, they have remained tight-lipped about the exact release date on virtual application stores.

As of now, no official confirmations or announcements have been made by Krafton regarding the game’s return. Speculations and rumors surrounding the official unban date have also been scarce. Therefore, it is crucial for players to stay connected with Krafton’s social media handles for the latest updates on Battlegrounds Mobile India’s unban date.

BGMI’s Conditional Return

The return of Battlegrounds Mobile India is imminent, and it will be introduced with certain conditions imposed by the Government of India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). This initial phase will serve as a three-month trial approval, during which the government will closely monitor the game’s operations.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the Union Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, Skill Development, Electronics & Technology, revealed that the three-month period will determine whether the game can make a permanent comeback.

During this trial phase, players can expect new content in the game, including features from the global variant, PUBG Mobile. However, it is worth noting that Battlegrounds Mobile India may undergo certain censorship measures to address concerns regarding user harm and addiction. Reports also suggest that the game might witness a reduction in gore and blood following its unban.

Team Vitality defeat Apeks in Blast.tv Paris Major 2023 Semi-Final

Vitality survived the Apeks scare as they progressed onto the Grand Finals of the Blast.tv Paris Major 2023.

Match Details

  • Team Vitality Vs Apeks
  • Match Type: Best of 3, LAN
  • Semi-Final #2, Blast.tv Paris Major.

Map Veto

  • Apeks removed Nuke
  • Vitality removed Ancient
  • Apeks picked Mirage
  • Vitality picked Vertigo
  • Vitality removed Anubis
  • Apeks removed Overpass
  • Inferno was left over

Map 1: Mirage (Pick: Apeks, Winner: Vitality, Final Score: 16-14)

Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut started off Mirage on the right foot, comfortably taking a 5-1 lead over Apeks. Although the French-Danish side seemed to lose their rhythm halfway as Apeks answered back with a commanding 3-round win, thanks to the dominant duo of Justinas “jL” Lekavicius and Joakim “jkaem” Myrbostad who won it for Apeks. Martin “STYKO” Styk also contributed to Apek’s first half with a sensational pistol clutch in the 9th round later followed by a 3K in the 13th round. Apeks folded the first half 7-8 to favor of Vitality’s.

Coming from the break, Vitality tried to run away with Mirage as they got to 11-7 but were eventually throttled by Apeks who showed resistance. Despite taking yet another healthy lead of 14-9, STYKO and company never let their guard down although they did fell short on the very last round which costed them their own pick letting Vitality go 1-0 up in the Semi-final #2 series.

Map 2: Vertigo (Pick: Vitality Winner: Apeks, Final Score: 16-12)

Vertigo initially were to be a plain carbon copy of the events from Mirage but Vitality somehow snapped them out of the chokehold, running away with a 10-5 scoreline in the first half. Despite Apeks getting off to a comfortable start, Vitality started demolishing every reinforcement set up by Apeks which allowed Lotan “Spinx” Giladi to play in his own element.

But the story just won’t end here as Apeks snapped back at Vitality by squaring off the scores 10-10, a dominant start on offense, the likes of which we have seen being pulled off by Gambit Esports (now Cloud9). Despite winning 5 rounds straight, Vitality quickly bounced back, strengthening and fortifying their grounds. This indeed jeopardized every strategy Apeks tried to attack with but were left destitute and listless as their Grand-finals hopes came down crumbling right in front of their eyes.

Vitality will now face GamerLegion in the Grand Finals of the Blast.tv Paris Major 2023.

CSGO Legend kennyS Announces Retirement After Glittering 10-Year Career

Kenny “kennyS” Shcrub has announced his retirement from Counter Strike : Global Offensive, taking the stage at the Blast.tv Paris Major 2023 after GamerLegion beat Heroic in the Semi-final.

The 28 year-old French AWPer has finally hung his mouse after an illustrious 11 year-old career in Counter Strike : Global Offensive where he first started to play for VeryGames back in 2012. After hopping several teams here and there, Schrub rose to prominence after he joined Team EnvyUs and led them to their first ever Major championship in 2015 at the DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca in Romania.

After being placed on the bench by G2 in March 2021, kennyS has been unable to compete for a period of 18 months citing burnout. The decision was made after the French AWPer, who had struggled with mental health concerns for years, had a string of disappointing tournament results and a downward trend in his overall performance.

The departure brings to a close the French AWPer’s nearly six-year-long tenure with G2, which began with the formation of the so-called “French superteam” in February of 2017 alongside Richard “shox” Papillon, Dan “apEX” Madesclaire, and Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt.

kennyS was instrumental in G2’s journey to victory at ESL Pro League Season 5, DreamHack Masters Malmo, and DreamHack Open Tours 2017, the only time when he played out in his prime form which later seemed to have fallen shy of being active in the scene and not being able to reciprocate top-notch results.

With his then exit from G2 Esports, kennyS joined the forces of Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt, Kévin “misutaaa” Rabier, Ali “hAdji” Haïnouss, and Jordan “Python” Munck-Foehrle under Falcons.

Together with HEET, Falcons had established themselves as one of the most impressive full French rosters competing in CS:GO thus far in 2018. Shrub’s last ride was with Falcons which saw the French side failing to qualify for the last major of CS:GO with Blast.tv.

Notable events won by kennyS in CS:GO:

  • DreamHack Masters Malmö 2017
  • ESL Pro League Season 5 Finals
  • DreamHack Open Tours 2017
  • WESG 2016 World Finals
  • Game Show Global eSports Cup 2016 Finals
  • DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca 2015
  • Gfinity 2015 Champion of Champions
  • DreamHack Open London 2015
  • IEM Gamescom 2015
  • DreamHack Stockholm CS:GO Invitational
  • Mad Catz Birmingham

Gamer Legion outlast Heroic to reach the final of Blast.tv Paris CSGO Major

0

Gamer Legion having made it this far in the tournament turned every head in the CSGO community. A true underdog against the likes of Heroic but unfazed by the pressure of the stage, they came into the match ready to fight for a Grand Finals spot.

Match Details

  • Gamer Legion Vs Heroic
  • Match Type: Best of 3, LAN
  • Semi Final, Blast.tv Paris Major.

Map Veto

  • GL ban Anubis
  • Heroic ban Overpass
  • GL pick Ancient
  • Heroic pick Inferno
  • GL ban Nuke
  • Heroic ban Inferno
  • Overpass was left over

Map 1: Ancient (Pick: GL, Winner: Heroic, Final Score: 16-13)

Heroic started off strong going 3-0 up off the back of a pistol round victory but their defence fell flat on the face of the proactive version of Counter-Strike that GL brought to the table. Round after round, GL were fearless in taking duels and Heroic was clearly suffering. isak stood out with the most opening kills for GL on their T side which help them put together a string of rounds to end the half 10-5 in favour of GL.

GL entering their defence with a 5-round lead suddenly looked lost as Heroic gave them a taste of their own medicine. The Danish team won 8 rounds in a row surpassing GL’s lead before they could post a round of their own. Heroic did not let more than 3 rounds slip off the back of a fearsome T side and successfully posted a comeback with a 16-13 final score.

Map 2: Inferno (Pick: Heroic, Winner: GL, Final Score: 16-14)

Gamer Legion despite having shown vulnerability in Overpass showed a respectable defence. Despite losing out some rounds early into the game, they founder their footing and put together a few rounds before the first half ended. Heroic managed to cut it close but GL’s mid-round calls were on point on more than one occasion that found them getting up a healthy 3-round lead before switching sides.

The second half was a much closer affair as both teams traded rounds until the very end. Heroic at one point looked to be running away with it but GL stood strong and managed to outlast them with all 15 rounds coming into play. GL cut it close but won the battle of resilience against a side more experienced on stages like this and won the map 16-14.

Map 3: Mirage (Pick: Decider, Winner: GL: Final Score: 16-6)

Both teams having won each other’s map pick looked too close for the final to be a one-sided affair, especially with a Grand Finals spot on the line. GL were able to channel their relentless and aggressive T side from Ancient and Heroic found their backs against the wall. iM, touted to be the best rifler in the tournament alongside stavn opened up the map with 6 OPKs and the highest ADR as Heroic only managed to post 5 rounds on their defence.

Heroic showed they can come back previously in this match but GL were in no mood to repeat the same. Their sharp individuals managed to win most of the duels before Heroic could even get the bomb down. Out of the seven rounds played, Heroic managed to get the bomb down on no more than two rounds which shows the defensive dominance of GL. jabbi catching 3 GL players off guard got the only for Heroic in the second half but a closure followed suit as GL thrashed them with a 16-6 scoreline.

Despite coming into the game as underdogs, Gamer Legion won the battle of resilience that Heroic would think they have an edge on. With an incredible series played between two top sides in the final CSGO major, Gamer Legion finds themselves in the Grand Finals of the Blast.tv Paris CSGO Major.

Gamer Legion will play against Vitality/Apeks at 20:30 PM IST tomorrow.
