BGMI Unban Timeline: Major Developments and Anticipation Among Players

The long wait for Indian gamers is finally coming to an end as Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) is set to make a comeback after being blocked by the Government of India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) in July 2022. This exciting news was shared by Krafton, the South Korean game company behind BGMI, through a surprising announcement on social media.

Major developments have taken place in the past few days, fueling the anticipation among BGMI players. The game servers have been taken offline by the developers in preparation for its highly awaited re-release.

Let’s delve into the key events leading up to the unban of Battlegrounds Mobile India:

Battlegrounds Mobile India servers go offline on May 19

Since its ban, BGMI had been absent from both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. However, the servers remained online until May 19 when Krafton decided to take them down, hinting at an imminent unban. As of now, the servers are still offline, and players launching the game are greeted with the following message:

“Hello BGMI Fan! BGMI servers will be unavailable for a while to come up with a better and bigger experience. While we are working to give you a seamless experience, your account will be safe, and your progress till now will be retained. We will keep you informed of further developments and the release date through our social media platforms. With this, you’re all geared up for a power-packed adventure! Remember, play responsibly! Game on! See you in the BATTLEGROUNDS! Love, KRAFTON”

Although players cannot log into the game manually, they can expect the servers to be back online in the coming days.

Instagram posts and promises from Krafton

On May 19, 2023, the official Instagram account of Battlegrounds Mobile India posted for the first time since July 2022. Krafton shared two new posts, confirming the return of the Indian version of PUBG Mobile.

In these posts, the developers expressed their gratitude towards the Indian government authorities and the loyal fan base of Battlegrounds Mobile India for their unwavering support. While no specific unban date was revealed, Krafton assured players and fans that updates would be provided soon.

Additionally, Sean Hyunil Sohn, the head of Krafton India, took to Twitter on the same day to announce the game’s imminent return, receiving an overwhelming response from the gaming community.

Union Minister confirms temporary unban

Following Krafton’s announcement, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the Union Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, Skill Development, Electronics & Technology, officially confirmed the game’s return in India. However, he clarified that the unban is temporary and will undergo a three-month trial approval period, during which Krafton needs to address data security and server location concerns.

MeitY will closely monitor Battlegrounds Mobile India and assess any remaining issues during the trial period before making a final decision regarding a permanent unban.

BGMI appears on Google Play Store but remains unplayable

Although the Android OS download link on the game’s official website now leads to the Google Play Store, players are still unable to play BGMI as the servers remain closed.

Krafton has also acknowledged that the game is currently unavailable due to the offline servers.

Players who have signed up for the public test before the official launch are expected to receive an email from the developers regarding the game’s availability.

As the countdown to the return of Battlegrounds Mobile India continues, fans are eagerly awaiting its re-release. With the servers temporarily offline, developers are working behind the scenes to enhance the gaming experience, ensuring that players will soon embark on an even more exciting and enjoyable adventure.

BGMI Update 2.6 After Unban: All Expected Changes

The highly anticipated 2.6 Update has finally arrived in PUBG Mobile, bringing with it a host of exciting changes to the classic battle royale gameplay. As the much-awaited relaunch of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) approaches, players can expect these updates to be incorporated into the latest version, in accordance with the government guidelines.

Expected Updates in BGMI Classic Mode

  1. New Full-Auto Mod Attachment: One of the notable changes is the introduction of the Full-Auto Mod attachment for the M1614 and MK47 semi-automatic assault rifles. This attachment can now be found as ground loot and enables players to switch to full auto mode. It’s worth mentioning that even in auto mode, the fire rate of these rifles will be lower compared to popular choices like the M416.
  2. Companion Spectating System: With this update, eliminated teammates can transform into companions by assuming the form of a pet. They will have a unique view of the match from the companion’s perspective, which is only visible to their surviving teammates. However, the companions themselves will not be able to see or hear enemies.
  3. Tactical Attachment Applicable Mode Updates: Players can now equip gun shields on firearms like the M249, providing added protection from incoming damage. However, this comes at the cost of a reduced field of view.
  4. Full Movement Speed on SMGs: Close combat enthusiasts will be thrilled to learn that they can now fire and sprint simultaneously using SMGs. These weapons will no longer incur movement penalties, making them a top choice for intense crosshair duels.
  5. Melee Weapon Revision: All melee weapons have been consolidated under the new category called Machete. Additionally, players can now apply weapon finishes to Machetes, and the corresponding animations have been adjusted accordingly.
  6. Throwable Improvements: Grenades and other throwables have received enhancements, including improved animation, reduced recoil, and general updates to their mechanics.
  7. Convertible Sports Car Mechanic: The Open and Closed Top Mirado vehicles have been merged into a single vehicle with a convertible roof. This same adjustment has been applied to the UAZ as well.
  8. Vehicle Improvements: Following its introduction in Miramar, the Monster Truck has now been added to Erangel, alongside the Open Mirado. Furthermore, the UAZ now replaces pickups in Sanhok and Miramar.
  9. Supply Shop Item Adjustments in Livik: In Livik, Supply Shops will now stock the QBZ instead of the AKM, providing players with a different weapon choice in this map.
  10. Match Withdrawal Penalty Adjustments: Players will no longer have merit deducted for leaving a match before boarding the plane, allowing more flexibility and freedom to choose their desired gameplay experience.
  11. Chicken Dinner Adjustment: The UI for the chicken dinner screen and victory dance has been improved, enhancing the overall celebratory experience.

Apart from these changes, BGMI has received numerous theme-related updates, graphics improvements, and enhancements to the Metro Royale mode. Krafton, the game’s developer, will release the full patch update once the game goes live. Additionally, there will be BGMI exclusive updates, which may include features such as a no-blood gameplay option and wardrobe restrictions. Notably, updates have also been made to the game’s privacy section, focusing on server security and ensuring a safer environment for underage players. However, players are advised to exercise patience as Krafton finalizes the relaunch process in order to get accurate information about the in-game changes.

BGMI Minimum Requirements

To enjoy the BGMI experience on Android, players should ensure their devices meet the following minimum requirements: Android 4.3 or higher, Adreno (TM) 306 or higher GPU, and at least 1.5 GB of RAM. iOS users, on the other hand, need iOS 9.0 or later, or iPad, iPadOS 9.0 or later, with a minimum of 2 GB RAM. However, it is advisable to have slightly more advanced hardware to ensure a seamless gaming experience, as the provided requirements may be outdated.

BGMI Download Size

In terms of download size, the BGMI 2.6 update’s APK file is expected to be similar to the size of the recently launched PUBG Mobile 2.6 update. Based on this comparison, players can anticipate the BGMI 2.6 update APK to range between 600 MB and 700 MB. It is important to note that this estimate is subject to slight variations in the actual size.

Upon successfully downloading the APK file, players will also be prompted to download resource packs to complete the installation process. They will have two options to choose from: the Low-spec Resource Pack and the HD Resource Pack. These resource packs are expected to consume an additional 1.5 GB of data, and the overall size of the game may increase by approximately 4 GB.

Ensure you stay updated with the latest BGMI news and official announcements to make the most of the new features and updates in version 2.6.

Pokemon TCG Player Oliver Barnett Accused of Cheating During Malmo Regional Championships

0

During the highly anticipated Pokemon Championship Season, where Regional events from around the world are live-streamed on Twitch, an incident involving Oliver Barnett has stirred up controversy among the community. The incident occurred during the Malmo Regional Championships and has sparked accusations of cheating against Oliver Barnett.

In a pivotal moment during his match against Lasse Puisto, Oliver Barnett’s actions on the live stream have raised suspicion. As he reached for his last prize card, Oliver seemingly took a peek at one of his prize cards, leading many to accuse him of cheating.

The Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG) has clear rules and regulations that players must adhere to during official tournaments. Looking at prize cards without the proper authorization, such as a trainer card that explicitly allows it, is strictly prohibited. Unfortunately, Oliver appeared to have violated this rule during the match.

Once the incident was captured on the Twitch stream, fans wasted no time sharing the clip on various social media platforms. The online community swiftly voiced their thoughts and concerns about the alleged cheating incident.

One individual expressed their frustration, stating, “If this is not met with a ban, it sets a dangerous precedent for future events. Players will feel entitled to bend the rules without consequences.”

Another comment emphasized the perceived nonchalant attitude, saying, “He casually looked at the card and just decided, ‘Nope, not this one.'” Such reactions exemplify the disappointment and disbelief shared by many fans.

Neither The Pokemon Company International (TPCi) nor Oliver Barnett have issued any statements regarding the accusations at the time of writing. However, should any official responses be made, this article will be promptly updated to reflect the latest information.

BLAST Paris Major Shatters Viewer Records with Over 1.52 Million Peak Viewers

In a historic event, the CS:GO BLAST Paris Major has successfully clinched the third spot for the highest peak viewership of all CS:GO tournaments. This impressive milestone, as confirmed by reputed data analysis company, Esports Charts, further fortifies the status of CS:GO in the global esports landscape.

The Grand Finals pitted Team Vitality against GamerLegion, in a fiercely contested showdown that culminated with a resounding peak viewership of over 1.52 million. This remarkable number puts the BLAST Paris Major in a coveted position, trailing only behind PGL Major Stockholm 2021 (2.75 million) and PGL Major Antwerp 2022 (2.11 million) in terms of the highest number of simultaneous viewers.

Intriguingly, the final showdown was the sole match of the event that surpassed the 1 million viewer mark. This can be attributed to the premature elimination of several fan-favorite teams. Furthermore, the Legends Stage face-off between FaZe and NAVI, which eventually led to NAVI’s exit from the tournament, emerged as the second most-watched match. Notably, four of the top five peak viewership matches in CS:GO history involve the Ukrainian team, as per Esports Charts.

The unexpected turn of events at the Paris Major potentially justifies why this tournament averaged only 507,688 viewers. Interestingly, this figure places it as the lowest in the top five of the most-watched CS:GO events. The preceding Major, IEM Rio, had a marginally lesser peak viewership (1.43 million), but boasted a notably higher average (548,100).

Esports Charts has also clarified to Dexerto that its viewership figures exclude data from BLAST.tv, the streaming platform unveiled by the tournament organizer towards the end of the previous year. The specific viewership figures on this platform during the Major remain undisclosed by BLAST.

The exhilarating grand finale culminated with a decisive 2-0 triumph for Vitality, propelling them into the revered roster of Major winners in CS:GO history. Fans are eagerly looking forward to the next Major, slated to occur only in 2024, which will be held in Copenhagen, and will witness the gameplay of Counter-Strike 2.

FaZe Clan Faces 40% Staff Reductions Amid Public Scrutiny

0

In a recent development, FaZe Clan, a prominent gaming and esports organization, has announced another round of staff reductions, affecting 40% of its workforce. This decision comes amid mounting criticism from both the gaming and esports communities, including former members of the company. FaZe Clan’s choice to go public has drawn particular scrutiny, and the consequences are becoming increasingly apparent.

Going public in 2022 with a valuation of $725 million, FaZe Clan’s journey has not been smooth. Currently, its stock price remains stagnant, struggling to surpass the $1 mark. As the organization’s financials become public knowledge, fans and investors have gained insights into its expenditures and, importantly, its revenue streams.

FaZe Clan, once admired for its success, is now viewed as a reflection of the current economic downturn in the esports industry. Despite some revenue growth, the company reported losses of $53 million throughout 2022. This revelation, along with other financial details, paints a less optimistic picture of FaZe Clan’s financial health.

On May 19, at 10:01 a.m., the company’s staff received notification of the impending layoffs. This marks the second wave of layoffs in 2023, following a reduction of approximately 20% of the workforce in February. FaZe Clan’s first-quarter SEC filings for 2023 further confirmed a continuing trend of losses. During that period, the net loss amounted to $14.04 million, with revenue declining by about 20% compared to the fourth-quarter filing of 2022.

Adding to the challenges, FaZe Clan also faced the departure of one of its high-profile figures, Snoop Dogg, in March. The renowned rapper and entrepreneur abruptly left the company, as revealed in FaZe Clan’s fourth-quarter filings of 2022.

While FaZe Clan has not responded directly to Dexerto’s request for comment on the report, the organization acknowledged the forthcoming layoffs on Twitter. FaZe Clan stated that the specifics of the workforce reduction would be disclosed in an SEC filing later in the day.

In a statement, FaZe Clan outlined their plan as a step toward aligning their cost structure with their near-term priorities, which revolve around brand sponsorship and esports growth. The company emphasized its commitment to reducing costs to protect capital, thereby positioning FaZe Clan for future profitability. These efforts, detailed in their shareholder letters, demonstrate their dedication to navigating the current challenges and emerging stronger in the esports landscape.

FaZe Clan’s recent struggles serve as a sobering reminder of the realities facing organizations in the gaming and esports industry. The economic downturn, coupled with intensified competition, has placed considerable pressure on even the most established entities. As FaZe Clan continues its journey, its ability to adapt and find new avenues for growth will be critical in shaping its future.

Dupreeh becomes the first player to win 5 CSGO Majors

After winning it for his team the Blast.tv Paris Major 2023 at the Accor Arena, Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen has now bagged five majors across his career in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

So far we had seen Dupreeh win 4 Majors with Astralis (ELEAGUE Atlanta,  FACEIT London Major, IEM Katowice 2019, and StarLadder Berlin) before signing up for Team Vitality alongside Emil “Magisk” Reif and Danny “zonic” Sørensen in January 2022.

No other player will ever be able to top what dupreeh has accomplished because Valve is switching to Counter-Strike 2 and the BLAST Paris Major was the final CSGO Major.

“It couldn’t be better,” dupreeh said in an interview with James Banks after the Grand Finals at the Accor Arena. “My personal objective since joining Vitality was to win one more Major, and I did so today,” he concluded.

Alongside winning five majors, Dupreeh also became the consistent player in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive to have qualified for straight 19 Majors in the due course. Winning 4 Majors with a team is indeed a majestic achievement one could ever bag and the count of 5 just tells us how

This fantastic milestone was achieved by dupreeh at the BLAST Paris Major, where he also contributed significantly to Vitality’s victory. Even though he wasn’t the team’s major star, he still managed a 1.11 rating across 10 maps, as per statistics powered by HLTV.org.

As mentioned, dupreeh is the only CS: GO player to qualify for all 19 Majors after Team Vitality qualified for Blast.tv Major. The other two players with 17 appearances, Richard “shox” Papillon and Andreas “Xyp9x” Hjsleth, missed Rio.

Dupreeh will have won four Majors with Astralis, including three straight from 2018 to 2019. Previously, he tied for first place with xyp9x, dev1ce, and gla1ve for the most Major wins, which was four.
