BLAST to host the Fortnite Championship Series and the Rocket League Championship Series

0

Popular esports tournament organizer BLAST has announced their partnership with Epic Games to operate the premier event of their two flagship esports titles Fortnite and Rocket League on X.

BLAST has been one of the best esports event organizers in the world if not the best, known for their standout production quality that makes the esports event more engaging and enjoyable. With the latest agreement between BLAST and Epic Games, the former will take over the operations of competitions, event production, and marketing of the RLCS and FNCS.

Fans have a fond memory of BLAST hosting FNCS events in the past and most recently the FNCS Global Championship in the Royal Arena of Copenhagen. EPIC has now extended its relationship with this multi-year deal that will see BLAST not only host Fortnite events but Rocket League events right alongside it.

“Pioneering positive change in esports has always been part of the BLAST DNA and this announcement is an amazing continuation of that journey. Working together with the world’s biggest game publishers to elevate and grow their competitive properties has been a huge area of focus for BLAST in recent years. This collaboration is testament to that hard work and we are delighted to expand our relationship with Epic Games by operating the Rocket League Championship Series in addition to the Fortnite Championship Series.”

BLAST has always stood out with its top-of-the-line production quality and a very aesthetically pleasing theme for its events as a result none of its events go by without staggering viewership. It can be debated that the previous FNCS events hosted by BLAST were better than the ones that came before and as a result, EPIC handing them the rights for their future events will only benefit the esport scene for both games.

Revenant Esports Bids Farewell to Its BGMI Player MJ

0

Following the footsteps of few other Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) teams, Revenant Esports has also entered the rostermania by announcing the departure of their BGMI player, Harshit “MJ” Mahajan, ending his tenure with the organization. Joining them in April 2023, MJ played an integral role within the team until his departure was officially announced today, on 4th January 2024.

MJ’s Journey with Revenant Esports

During his time with Revenant Esports, MJ played a crucial role in the team, contributing to their journey through various official tournaments since the relaunch of BGMI in May. Despite not achieving exceptional results, the team remained consistent and managed to secure a spot in the Grand Finals of every official tournament taken place since the game’s relaunch.

In the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2023, the team finished in the 7th position, followed by a 5th-place finish in the India – Korea Invitational. The most recent Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) 2023 saw the team closing at the 8th position. While these results were not quite the best, the team stood strong and showcased consistency.

However, it wasn’t a complete gloom for Revenant Esports. The team displayed notable performances in several third-party tournaments, earning the runner-up position in both Skyesports Championship 5.0 and Nodwin BGMI Champions Cup. The Villager Esports Pro Invitational 2023 witnessed the team securing an impressive 3rd position.

With MJ and Revenant Esports parting ways, the organization is not left empty-handed. The team still has a complete roster of four players, having signed Kaushal “SIMP” Jaiswal in November of the previous year.  Revenant Esports’ current roster includes the following players:

  • Deepak “SENSEI” Negi
  • Nishant “APOLLO”
  • Ritesh “Fierce” Nawandar
  • SIMP

On MJ’s front, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for him. Having been a significant player for Revenant Esports, MJ’s might soon join a reputed team soon. However, only time will tell.

How to boost FPS in Fortnite 2024?

FPS is always a concern when it comes to games like Fortnite, the competitive nature of the game pushes players to squeeze out as many FPS as their PCs can. The smallest improvement in our gaming experience can make a world of difference and while getting new hardware is not always the solution, here are some tips that might help.

In this article, we will find out how to boost FPS in Fortnite. Without wasting time, let’s dive into it.

Lower In-Game Settings

Resolution: Lower the resolution in the game settings. Lower resolutions require less graphical processing power.
Graphics Quality: Set graphics settings to low or medium. This reduces the strain on your system’s GPU.

Update Graphics Drivers: Ensure your graphics card drivers are up-to-date. Manufacturers frequently release driver updates that can optimize performance.

Close Background Programs: Close any unnecessary programs running in the background. These programs can consume system resources and affect game performance.

Adjust Windows Settings

Game Mode: Activate Game Mode in Windows settings. This optimizes your system for gaming performance.

High-Performance Power Plan: Set your power plan to “High Performance” in Windows power settings.

Overclocking (Advanced Users): Overclocking your GPU or CPU can potentially increase performance, but it should be done cautiously and within safe limits to avoid hardware damage.

Disable Shadow and Effects: Turning off shadows and special effects within the game settings can significantly improve FPS.

Install the Game on an SSD: Install Fortnite on an SSD (Solid State Drive) rather than an HDD (Hard Disk Drive) to reduce loading times and improve performance.

Verify Game Files:
Use the game launcher to verify the integrity of game files. Sometimes corrupted files can impact performance.

Optimize Background Software: Use optimization software to manage background processes and services that might be eating up system resources.

Update Windows and Fortnite: Ensure both Windows OS and Fortnite are updated to their latest versions. Updates often include performance improvements and bug fixes.

Limit FPS Cap: Set an FPS cap slightly below your average FPS. This can stabilize performance by preventing fluctuations.

Adjust Nvidia/AMD Control Panel Settings: Tweaking settings in the Nvidia Control Panel (for Nvidia GPUs) or AMD Radeon Settings (for AMD GPUs) can sometimes boost performance.

Cooling and Ventilation: Ensure your system has adequate cooling. Overheating can cause throttling, impacting performance.

A Guide to Improve Close Range Combat in BGMI

0

If you have ever played Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), you might already know how important close range combats are. Doesn’t matter how good you are at the game, if you don’t win close range battles, you will lose. It literally makes the difference between winning and losing a game. Hence, consciously working on improving your close range skills is very important to excel in the game. In this article, we bring you a guide on how you can improve your close range.

The Three Key Aspects to Improve Your BGMI Close Range Combat Skills – Movement, Aim, and Weapon

You need to consider three key factors to improve your BGMI close range combat skills: Movement, Aim, and Weapon. Given below is the detailed breakdown of all three of these:

Movement

Jiggle: Add unpredictability to your movements by swaying left and right. This makes it challenging for opponents to aim accurately.

Crouch: Crouch on and off to disrupt your opponent’s crosshair placement, making it difficult to aim at you.

Utilize Cover: Hide behind a cover to surprise your opponent. Pop out, damage your opponent, and retreat before your opponent can react.

Jump: Jump out of cover to catch your enemy off-guard. Jumping disrupts your opponent’s crosshair placement and can provide you with an advantage.

Peek: Opt for peeking rather than fully exposing yourself. This reveals only your upper portion of your body, minimizing the target area for your opponent.

Prone: When caught off-guard, going prone and shooting can surprise your enemy. It takes time for your opponent to react and adjust aim after you go prone, giving you enough time to take down the opponent. However, prone completely restricts your movements, so it is much of a gamble.

To dominate your opponents, use a combination of these movements based on the situation. Avoid using the same pattern repeatedly to remain unpredictable.

Aim

Crosshair Placement: Crosshair placement is one of the most important aspects of the game, especially in BGMI close range combats. Always place your crosshair at the point where you expect the enemy to be. This will increase your chance to damage your opponent first before getting hit.

Sights: Using sights wherever necessary gives you an upper hand as sights massively improve the shooting accuracy. However, they also restrict your movements, so it is important to be conscious when using them.

Hipfire: To get the most out of your movements, you should use hipfire. Hipfire allows you to freely move while shooting. However, it introduces shooting errors the more you move and the longer you fire, so you must take that into account.

It is equally important to consciously know where and when to use sights and where and when to opt for hipfire.

Weapon

The choice of your weapon is one of the most important aspects in close range combat. Opt for a weapon with higher damage per second (DPS), weapons with higher accuracy, or shotguns to improve your BGMI close range combat skills.

Examples: Groza – High DPS, UMP-45 – High accuracy, and DBS – Shotgun

By mastering all  these – movement, aim, and weapon, you’ll significantly improve your BGMI close range combat skills. However, it is equally important to practice. Practice as much as you can to implement these tactics into your game. The more you practice, the better you get.
