9Pandas Removed From PGL Copenhagen CS2 Major Due To Lack of Players

With only a few hours remaining before the highly anticipated Copenhagen CS2 Major kicks off, PGL has announced the removal of the 9Pandas roster from the event.

As per a recent Tweet by PGL, the Russian organization has fallen short in assembling a complete roster of five players, despite being granted multiple deadline extensions.

“All PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024 teams were required to be in Denmark by March 14,” the tournament organizer said in a statement. “Despite multiple extended deadlines, 9Pandas could only line up 3 eligible players today.”

As a result, PGL has confirmed that 9Pandas will be replaced by GamerLegion in the upcoming Copenhagen 2024 Major.

In the culmination of the European last-chance qualifier, GamerLegion found themselves losing to 9Pandas in the final game. This outcome solidifies the seedings for the opening rounds, with GamerLegion stepping into the fray to take on AMKAL Esports in their inaugural match, replacing 9Pandas without altering the tournament’s dynamic.

“Not being able to seize the opportunity for Major victory due to visa problems is truly disheartening, and we hope that 9Pandas won’t face similar issues in the future,” GamerLegion director of esports Julian “morxzas” Miculcy said in a statement. “Nevertheless, we are excited about the opportunity and will strive to make our fans proud in Copenhagen.”

Counter-Strike 2 fans will be able to catch their favorite teams from around the globe battling it out for a whopping $500,000 first-place prize starting March 17 at 13:00 CET on PGL’s official Twitch and YouTube channels.

‘Potions Most Potent’ is the first quest you’ll find in the Genshin Impact Alchemical Ascension event. It’s a simple quest that can be initiated by speaking with Lisa in the Knights of Favonius Headquarters in Mondstadt.

Once done, players have to go to the potions shop located in Whispering Woods, northeast of Mondstadt to progress the quest.

Completing the entirety of the ‘Potions Most Potent’ quest will give the following rewards to the players:

  • Primogems x40
  • Hero’s Wit x4
  • Mora x40,000

This also enables the player to manage their potion shop from the Alchemical Ascension event menu.

What is SIMA? Google new AI to play video games with you

Game-playing AI isn’t exactly a new thing but given Google’s deep-rooted ventures in the industry, they have come up with something that can follow natural language models to follow instructions in a video game environment and the real world to some extent.

The AI gaming agent is named SIMA, abbreviated from Scalable Instructable Multiworld Agent. Unlike what OpenAI or Google’s very own Gemini offers, SIMA has been trained to follow instructions in certain controlled environments, most notably inside video games where they claim it is capable of working alongside another human.

At the time of writing, the model is highlighted to be effective in video game environments, but long-term goals would likely include effective utilization of an instruction following the AI language model to be effective in multiple scenarios in real life while assisting humans in a variety of tasks.

“We partnered with game developers to train SIMA on a variety of video games. This research marks the first time an agent has demonstrated it can understand a broad range of gaming worlds and follow natural-language instructions to carry out tasks within them, as a human might.” read their statement.

 “Our first approach was to record pairs of human players across the games in our portfolio, with one player watching and instructing the other. We also had players play freely, then rewatch what they did and record instructions that would have led to their game actions,”  they added.

Google Deepmind partnered with game developers to enhance their AI agent (SIMA) by exposing it to diverse virtual environments. Nine video games, including Teardown and No Man’s Sky, provided a variety of challenges that expanded SIMA’s capabilities. Each game introduced a new interactive world and a set of skills to master.

While there are a plethora of new things with the game the Pick’Em challenge being one of the chief attractions during Majors remains unchanged for the most part. With a week left for the event to commence, we are here to walk you through the nooks and crannies of what Counter-Strike offers to players during the Majors.

If you have fired up the game anytime soon, you must have across the Viewers Pass. The PGL Copenhagen 2024 Viewer Pass costs $10, and the Viewer Pass with 3 Souvenir Tokens costs $18. The pass includes an upgradable Copenhagen 2024 Coin. Valve has recently shipped a new update to Counter-Strike 2, and it brings an all-new hub for the upcoming Copenhagen Major alongside the heavily anticipated Pick’Ems for the tournament.

The revamped Major Hub for the first CS2 Major is significantly different from the ones we’ve seen in CS:GO, and it enables players to check out their Pick’Em challenge, Viewer Pass progress, Souvenirs, and Stickers in one place.

At the time of writing, the Stickers for the PGL Copenhagen 2024 Major haven’t been revealed by Valve. However, players are already able to buy the Viewer Pass and get their hands on the shiny Copenhagen 2024 Coin.

Upon buying the PGL Copenhagen 2024 Viewer Pass, players can participate in the Major Pick’Ems, progress their pass to get Souvenir tokens, and support their favorite pro teams through Team Graffiti.
