Orangutan Gaming Announces Its Revamped BGMI Roster

0

Orangutan Gaming has announced its revamped Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) roster. This announcement comes in the wake of a disappointing exit from the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2024, where the team was eliminated after Round 3. The organization mutually parted ways with players Shubham “Drigger” Quiriyal and Ashish “Ash” Bhatnagar, as well as Coach Vedang “Vedzz” Chavan, while retaining two remaining players. After a nearly two-month hiatus from the scene, Orangutan Gaming has introduced its new lineup ahead of BGMI Masters Series (BGMS) Season 3.

Orangutan Gaming’s Revamped BGMI Roster

Orangutan Gaming’s updated BGMI roster features the following players:

  • Ankit “AKop” Shukla
  • Faraz “WizzGod” Khan
  • Arman “AARU
  • Randeep “AATANKI” Singh Bhullar
  • Divay “Veyron” Pratap Singh

AKop and WizzGod, both long standing members of Orangutan Gaming, are core of the team’s structure. AKop joined the team in October 2021, with WizzGod following shortly after in February 2022. AKop and WizzGod, both have been notable contributors in the team’s growth from a mediocre team in late 2021 to a potential contender by mid-2022.

Orangutan Gaming’s rise began with securing third place finishes in BGMS Season 1 and Skyesports Pro League. Despite showing consistent performances throughout 2023, the team struggled to clinch major victories. However, it did showcase an impressive performance in BGMS Season 2, where it finished as the runner-up. The 2024 season saw impressive performances, but the team’s performance saw a dip during BGIS 2024, prompting the organization to make recent roster changes.

The new additions, AARU, AATANKI, and Veyron, all three come from Team AARU, which finished 12th in BGIS 2024. AARU and AATANKI bring a wealth of experience, having played for OREsports, Midwave Esports, and FS Esports together. Their notable achievements include a runner-up finish in BGMI Pro Series Season 1 with OREsports and a 10th position finish in BGIS 2023 with Midwave Esports. Veyron, meanwhile, gained prominence with his standout performances in BGIS 2024.

With the new roster, Orangutan Gaming and players will aim to break the curse and win the upcoming major BGMI tournaments, including BGMS Season 3. It will be interesting to see whether Orangutan Gaming will be able to achieve any major feat with this powerhouse roster.

Ubisoft Reveals Development of Driver-Related Projects

0

Ubisoft has revealed that the new Driver game may still be in the works despite the cancellation of a TV show based on the franchise that was also in development.

In an interview with the developers, Stephen Totilo of Game File revealed some interesting facts. Ubisoft said they are “actively working on other exciting projects related to the franchise and can’t wait to share more information” in response to a question regarding the franchise’s future.

Ubisoft’s live-action Driver series, announced in 2021 will no longer be released and the production company behind it has shut down the project in its entirety. The show was supposed to be released in 2022 and nothing arrived until 2024 when they confirmed that the project was scrapped.

Although this comment doesn’t guarantee that a game will be released, it does give fans optimism that a new Driver game will be available on PCs and current-generation consoles.

Apple Approves First PC Emulator UTM SE for iOS

0

Apple has been notoriously infamous for being anti-gaming when it comes to their products but since the launch of the iPhone 15 pro, that narrative is beginning to change in ways we did not expect.

According to the latest reports, Apple has approved the entry of the first PC emulator, UTM SE for iOS, into the App Store, which is available for free across iPhones in certain regions.

You can run different Windows versions with UTM SE. This covers some versions of Linux and macOS in addition to Windows. Suffice it to say that all OS that can be run on said emulator will have the traditional limitations that come with a virtual machine.

According to reports:

  • UTM SE will support both VGA mode for graphics and terminal mode for text-only operating systems
  • Emulates x86, PPC, and RISC-V architectures
  • It will run pre-built machines or create your configuration from scratch
  • UTM SE has been built from QEMU, a powerful and widely used emulator

Apple has been rigid with its policies for the longest time and following governing bodies forcing them to implement changes, we might have more changes that open up their eco-system a little bit for users to enjoy the freedom they do with Andriod.

Nicklas Bendtner Announces Investment in Esports

0

The Legendary Gaming Group ApS owned by former Arsenal and Denmark striker Nicklas Bendtner, has picked up a majority stake in Legendary Arena, New Breed Agency, Team Singularity, and an unidentified esports company.

Footballers investing in Esports is nothing new but a commitment on this level is rare. Not only will he oversee the functioning of all the organizations, but he will also be involved in day-to-day operations for every one of them, the player confirmed.

“I am really pleased with the team we have assembled at Legendary and look forward to being part of something bigger in an industry I am fascinated by,” he said.

Bendtner has been open towards his love for CSGO for a long time now. Given the considerable fortune that he earned playing football at the highest level, it is only fair that he invests in an ever-growing industry.

That being said, the teams he is associated with are anything but Tier-1 and for them to reach there, it will take a considerable amount of work. Having funding behind them is a good start but unless money is spent wisely it will be difficult to reach greater heights.

BGMS Season 3 Introduces Powerplay, Impact Player, and Bounty System

The highly-anticipated Battlegrounds Mobile India Master Series (BGMS) Season 3 is just around the corner, set to begin on 19th July. Just days before BGMS Season 3 kicks off, the tournament organizer, NODWIN Gaming, has announced the introduction of three new features for the tournament–Powerplay, Impact Player, and Bounty System—that promise to introduce new twists and turns to the competition. Lets have an in-depth look at these three new features.

BGMS Season 3 Introduces Three New Features–Powerplay, Impact Player, and Bounty System

Powerplay, Impact Player, and Bounty System are set to be game-changers in BGMS Season 3, making the tournament both unpredictable and compelling to watch. Here’s an explanation of all three new features coming to the tournament:

What is Powerplay in BGMS Season 3?

The Powerplay feature of BGMS was introduced in the last season. In BGMI tournaments, teams typically earn 1 point for each finish. However, thanks to BGMS’s Powerplay, teams now receive 2 points for every finish in the FIRST ZONE. This rule will apply throughout the entire tournament, including the Grand Finals.

What is Impact Player BGMS Season 3?

The second rule is called the Impact Player, which will be implemented for the first time in BGMS Season 3. In this rule, during the Opening Week, the IGL or Coach of the top 4 teams will randomly draw a chit from a bowl containing the names of all their team’s players. The player whose name is drawn becomes the Impact Player.

Simply put, imagine all the players’ names are written on chits in a bowl. The IGL or Coach randomly picks one chit, and that player becomes the Impact Player.

Any points accumulated by this Impact Player through finishes will be doubled. For example, if an Impact Player achieves 4 finishes, their team will earn 8 points. If they achieve these 4 finishes during a Powerplay, their team will earn 16 points! That’s because the points will double in the Powerplay and also because of the Impact Player, making it 4 times 2 times 2 equals 16. Quite exciting, isn’t it?

However, this Impact Player rule will only apply during the BGMS Season 3 League Week, specifically on weekends—namely, Saturdays and Sundays. It will be implemented only on July 27-28 and August 3-4.

What is Bounty System BGMS Season 3?

The next rule is the Bounty System, which will also be implemented for the first time in BGMS Season 3. Under this rule, during the League Week, the top 4 teams on the leaderboard will carry a bounty. If any team successfully eliminates a bounty-carrying team by defeating all four players and eliminating them from the match, they will receive an additional 10 points. However, this bounty rule applies exclusively during the League Week and will not be in effect during the Playoffs or Grand Finals.

After every match, the teams carrying the bounty will change based on the latest leaderboard standings. For example, after the last match of the Opening Week of BGMS Season 3, the top 4 teams will carry the bounty only for the first match of Day 1 of the League Week. Then, after the conclusion of the first match of the League Week, a new leaderboard will determine which teams are in the top 4, and they will carry the bounty into the second match. This rotation of bounty-carrying teams will continue after each match, based on the shifts in the leaderboard rankings.

Imagine this scenario: During a Saturday or Sunday of the BGMS Season 3 League Week, an Impact Player makes a daring move against a bounty-carrying team during Powerplay, eliminating all four opponents in a 1v4 showdown. In this case, their team would earn double points from Powerplay, double points from the Impact Player, and an additional 10 points from the bounty. That’s a total of 26 points for making the right move against one team at the right time.

BGMS Season 3 Format: Everything You Need to Know

The format for the highly-anticipated Battlegrounds Mobile India Master Series (BGMS) Season 3 has been officially announced. Unlike typical tournaments, the BGMS Season 3 format introduces a plethora of twists and turns. The tournament is scheduled to begin on July 19th, where 24 teams will fight against each other for the ultimate title. Let’s have an in-depth look at the format of BGMS Season 3.

BGMS Season 3 Format Explained

The tournament is structured into four distinct stages: Opening Week, League Week, Playoffs, and Grand Finals. Each stage is designed to progressively challenge the teams and intensify the competition.

Opening Week (19th July – 21st July)

The first stage of the BGMS Season 3 format is the Opening Week will feature 24 teams, including 20 invited teams and 4 teams that have advanced through qualifiers. The qualified teams include 3 from the TVS Qualifiers and 1 from the OneBlade Qualifiers. During this stage, the 24 participating teams will be divided into 6 equal groups, each consisting of 4 teams.

Over the course of three days, each team will play 4 matches. By the end of this stage, the top 18 teams will automatically qualify for the next phase, known as the League Week. The remaining 6 teams will be subject to audience voting, where the top 2 voted teams will advance to the League Week, and the bottom 4 teams will be eliminated from the tournament.

League Week (22nd July – 4th August)

In League Week, the 20 remaining teams will be split into 5 groups of 4 teams each. Throughout this stage, each team will participate in a total of 24 matches. The performance during these matches is crucial as the top 4 teams will directly qualify for the Grand Finals. The remaining 16 teams, however, will proceed to the Playoffs, where they will have another opportunity to secure their spot in the Grand Finals.

Playoffs (6th August – 7 August)

The Playoffs will see the 16 teams from the League Week competing in 6 matches over two days. This stage is critical as only the top 12 teams will qualify for the Grand Finals. The bottom 4 teams will be eliminated, narrowing the field to the best performers who will compete for the championship.

Grand Finals (9 August – 11 August)

The last stage of BGMS Season 3 format is the Grand Finals. The Grand Finals will bring together the top 4 teams from the League Week and the top 12 teams from the Playoffs, making a total of 16 teams. Over three days, each team will play 3 matches daily, amounting to 9 matches in total. The team leading the leaderboard at the end of these matches will be crowned the BGMI Master Series Season 3 champion, securing their place in BGMS history.

BGMS Season 3 format brings unique twists and turns in play. Additionally, three unique elements – Powerplay, Impact Player, and Bounty System have also been added to the tournament to make it more interesting.

FaZe Clan’s Response to Trump Shooting Sparks Controversy

0

Donald Trump was a victim of a shooting during a rally in Pennsylvania on July 13. As soon as shots were fired, Secret Service agents rushed to protect him upon which Trump was seen with blood on his face as he rose a short while later.

When multiple creators wrote about the incident, social media was inundated with viral photographs. Popular esports organisations being one of those who reposted on X sparked controversy as the community did not agree with his being subjected to humour.

“I’m no Trump fan, but this post is sickening and makes me lose a lot of respect for FaZe. It’s not funny,” said one X user.

“Not really something to joke about no matter who it is. FaZe down. Disgusting,” said another.

After the incident, the former President described that his right ear’s “upper part” was caught on fire and had to be taken to the hospital. The shooter who targeted Trump at the rally, named by the FBI as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was subsequently verified to have been shot and killed by the Secret Service.
